Craig Road Animal Hospital is the best hospital ever

by Alina D.

I have been going to Craig Road for years and have never had a problem. I would like to say that the negative reviews posted by some of these people have been by people that were mad because they could not get free or discounted medicine. Owning an animal not a right but a RESPONSIBILITY! If you can't afford an animal then don't get them. Do take strays in if you can't afford them Why should this animal hospital or any other for that fact have to discount or give their services away because you can't afford to have them seen. Come on people, do you tell Smith's when you buy groceries that you can't afford them and you want them free or discounted because you have to many kids? Does your dr wave his co pay because you are broke?? Just because they are vets does not mean they should treat animals for free! Do you want the owner to tell the staff sorry I have to discount your pay this week or you have to work for free because the clients want free services. It is unfair of all of you to judge this excellent hospital and the care they provide to animals because you can't afford it... be real!
The doctors and staff have always gone above and beyond for my pet's and me. I have been to other hospitals and by far they are the best. They do provide the best medicine and the service is fantastic. I would NEVER, EVER take my pet's else where!!

CRAH provides excellent care

by Al C.

We are very happy with the service provided by the staff at Craig Road Animal Hospital. We have been customers since 1996 and all of our pets (cats and dogs) have been there for both routine and life saving care.

All of our pets have lived long happy extended lives that we believe are directly attributable to the care and attention provided by Dr. Mychajlonka. Our eight-year old German Shepherd-Besenji contracted a serious infection that threatened her life. Her health deteriorated rapidly, she lost over twenty pounds in two weeks. We knew that she was lost but Dr. Mychajlonka fought the infection and wrestled her back to the peak of health. His assistant, Dee took a personal interest in our girl and spent an untold amount of time caring for her as well. Dr. Mychajlonkas tenacity and determination to save our girl shows a true compassion and dedication to his field. We now have a happy energetic dog again.

We are and continue to be very happy with the care provided by CRAH and its staff. We consider them part of our extended family.

Craig Road Animal Hospital is the highest quality veterinary hospital.

by shari d.

I have been going to CRAH for the past 6 1/2 years. I have never had a bad experience there, and they have ALWAYS gone above and beyond what i would expect from an animal hospital. The love and care that they have given my dog exceeds anything i can describe. I have had several major issues with my dog, and Dr. Mike ALWAYS keeps me informed on my dogs status. He has even made long distnance phone calls to me to check on my dog. The clinic always calls me at least once and sometimes twice a day to tell me how he is doing when he has had to stay overnights. Dr. Mike is incredibly knowledgeable, printing out articles for me whenever i have a question about something, and he does not believe in cutting corners~!!!! He has called Drs. in other states to get the most up to date information on what ever medical situation he is dealing with at the time. He calls me even if it is just to tell me that he doesnt have any new news yet. If he doesnt call me personally, he has his assistant call. The office manager is always friendly and helpful when i have to come in to get prescriptions filled. I couldnt think of a bad thing to say about CRAH if my life depended on it, and i will never take any of my pets anywhere else. Shari D.

Craig Road Animal Hospital is Not Very Helpful

by Dottie Z.

I've been going here for years. I needed to get a prescription for a sedative for my cats (which they have taken before) because we are taking a road trip next week. I called and they said I had to bring the cats in for an exam before prescribing the meds and it would cost me $40. That is technically NOT a lot of money but I am unemployed and totally broke and this road trip we are taking is because we are moving back home to Illinois so we don't eventually become homeless. I asked if they could waive the $40 and they said no, they couldn't! I again stated I have coming there for 7 years and they coulnd't help me out here and again she said NO. I am so upset right now I don't know what to do. They are not going to go broke not getting that $40. Every time I have gone here they have been wonderful, but why now when I really need them do they turn into money grubbers like everyone else????

Horrible Treatment of Cats

by Robyn S.

I have a cat that has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism after I paid $600. then I found out that she really had been diagnosed with this probelm 6 month before but he doctors never told me it was a life long event. I was told to give her meds for 2 weeks and bring her back. I took her back exactly 2 weeks later they did 2 test instead of the one that was needed $300 later. I was told Dr. Sullivan would call me back in 4 days because she was going to be off. I called back in 5 days she had no clue said she would keep my cat on the same prescription for the next 2 weeks. She was going to call the lab and call me the next morning on my cell. Still no call. It took 3 days to get the next prescription filled after having the hospital call her at home, they reported she would call me the next mroning and give me the report, I'm still waiting for the call 3 weeks later. I will not take any of my animals back to this so called animal hospital. I totally agree with the other people saying Craig Road is all about money not care of animals. I still can't figure out why animals aren't treated in front of you. DON'T go to the place.

MORE then the BEST IN LAS VEGAS!

by Amber W.

I can't express how much I love C.R.A.H. From the moment I walk into that door I am treated with respect, care and extreme friendliness. The doctors are ALL so amazing. Dr. Mychajlonka has an amazing staff and I wish his business even more success.
The front staff is SO AMAZING! And they are really ontop of things. Especially the lovely girl named Vinessa ;)
The treatment staff is the best there. When I had to go into the back to visit my animal one night, they kept the mood great and gave nothing but the UPMOST care and love to ALL of the animals back there, not just mine. They kept it professional and fun at the same time. I didn't even want to leave! I can tell they all have a great relationship with eachother.
The doctors are FANTASTIC! All of them. I couldn't pin point one, because they all are great. Please ignore any bad reviews, it is obvious those people are miserable and have grumpy pants on. I would recommend Craig Road Animal Hospital to everyone!!!!!!!

CRAIG RD. DOES CARE. SARA W. IS JUST DUMB.

by Bow Chica W.

1st and foremost..THEY DO CARE ABOUT ANIMALS THERE! Just cuz YOU don't take care of your pets and probably had to pay the price, doesn't mean they don't care. And for the exam, did you want the whole hospital running into your room to help, leaving other peoples pets and come with all the equipment and things needed? No. Bring it to the back to make it easier. The doctor DOES have other patients. Your not the only one. And its still a business at the end of the day. If they didn't charge, it wouldn't be called an animal hospital. They can't be doing charity for everyone. Take better care of your damn pet and you wouldn't have to worry about any of that except regular check ups. Its funny the only people that complain are the ones who don't have money to pay for the animal. Take responsibilty.

VERY BEST IN LAS VEGAS

by Ness ..

I took my baby in on an emergency! They were WONDERFUL! It started as soon as I walked in! The staff up front was GREAT, and very empathetic. Within the first 20 minutes they knew what was going with my baby, and had his surgery scheduled within minutes! Dr Mychajlonka was GREAT!!! He took care of him during and after his surgery! All the doctors there were FABULOUS! I will recommend him and all the other doctors to anyone at anytime!!! I will always be greatful to Craig Road Animal Hospital, and Dr Mychajlonka!

NEVER EVER EVER EVER GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Sara W.

This place does NOT care about your animal, they care about how much they can charge you to treat your animal! First of all, they will not examine your dog in the exam room with you watching. They take them into the back and god only knows what they do with them back there or how they are treated. Then they bring your pet back and have a secretary come in with a bill. You then have to choose what type of treatment you would like without having the vet there to answer questions that you have regarding procedures that have been suggested. Once you agree to whatever they have recommended they shuffle you out to pay for it and that is that, no more seeing the vet, no more questions answered, no more follow up, NOTHING. Do NOT go there, this is not a place with animal lovers and people who want to treat you well it is simply a pay day for them when you walk through the door!

The very BEST CARE for my 2 little furbabies

by debi l.

I am owned by 2 very little chihuahuas, my 1 little guy has so many issues. Dr. O'Sullivan has been our lifesaver, she has gone above and beyond to help both of my chi's. Whenever I walk into the office the girls at the front desk make us feel so welcome and secure. When I have had to board them due to an emergency my little furballs are kept in the medical section of the hospital and looked over 24/7, they are both happy and healthy when I pick them up, I can't say enough great things about this hospital, but I trust Dr. O'Sullivan with the 2 most precious souls in my life.

The Best

by Scott C.

My relationship started on a Sunday a few years ago when another northwest Vet told us the nearest emergency vet was Several miles from here. We called Craig Road just in case and I'm glad we did. Our Weimeriner had eaten a root from a sego palm and went into liver failure, Dr. Chambers saved his life, it was a process over several months. I then begin taking all our animals there and when my 14 year old Dalmatian was in pain I was an easy mark, I would have paid what ever to add a little time but Dr. Roach gave me the options from a humane standpoint. If they had a pediatrician on staff myson would go there too!

NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THEIR SERVICES!!!

by MARK A.

NEVER WILL I USE THEIR SERVICES!!! Not only were they rude, we were gone for 3 days, and when we returned, he was acting very strange. The assistant complained "he is just way to hyper"!!

They also charged me for treatments that were not required (we just had all his shots done, and dewormed, yet they claimed he needed over $200 worth of medications)

What a great Doctor

by Janet C.

Thank goodness I took my dog Sandy to Dr. Hagstette. She took the time to help me understand why feeding too much food was causing Sandy to have trouble walking and breathing. It has been 6 months since we first saw Dr. Hagstette and Sandy has lost 8lbs and is no longer on 2 very expensive pills. I would recommend Dr. Hagstette to anyone who really loves their 4 legged family members.

NEVER EVER AGAIN!

by DE M.

Our dog was suddenly taken ill last year and Craig Animal Hospital was the closest to our house so we took Buddy there. The girls in the front desk area were very kind but that's where it ended. When we were taken in one of the back rooms we waited for over an hour before Dr. Roach came in.

He said that he would have to run "some tests" to make sure what was going on. This was after we told him what the symptoms were. He left us in the room and went to go to his computer. We sat there for at least 20 minutes. When he fianlly came back he had an estimated bill for the things that he said he needed to test Buddy for to make sure of his diagnosis. And this was before he even looked at Buddy.

The cost for "all" of the tests would be just over $400.00. Wow! We couldn't believe it but like so many other pet owners, they played and preyed on the love we had for our pet. The tests were run and he said that we needed to bring Buddy back in a week. He gave us some antibiotic ointment for the sores on Buddy's paws and sent us home (after we paid).

We came back in a week and Dr. Roach said that the tests were inconclusive. He said that he would need to run more tests and it would be between $200.00-$300.00! What happened to the just over $400.00 for all of the tests??????? We took Buddy and left and will never ever go back there again! They are there for the money and not the health or well being of your pet. I have never been so angry and upset with a vet in my life and I've had pets for over 50 years. What made me the angriest was that they know when you walk in that you are concerned for your pet (because they are part of your family) and they played on that.

To just close them down would be too good for them because they'd all just go somewhere else to prey on others. I don't know about the other Vets there but we definitely were very unhappy with the one we had.

Thorough service, but disorganized

by JL K. | insider Insider | Rank: 24,303

I took one of my dogs there because she got injured in a dog park. They were very thorough with her. When I went back for my follow-up appointment, I sat in the waiting room for over an hour and NEVER got to see the vet, even though I had an appointment. The waiting room is extremely unorganized (and dirty a lot of the time) and you don't always get to see the vet in the order that you arrived, even if you sign in.

They saved my dogs life

by Diana D.

This was not my normal vet but it was the closest to me when my 11week old Chinese Imperial "Jazz" puppy was badly hurt. She had severe lung contusions and wasn't given much hope. They were wonderful and let me visit her daily in the back room so she would know she wasn't abandoned. They were truly concerned and compassionate. I can't thank them enough.

The very best!

by Susan C.

Dr. Mychajlonka is amazing. He saved my dogs life. As soon as my dog got there they started an IV, put him on O2, did X Rays, ultrasound, and had him in surgery within 15 minutes of arriving at CRAH. During surgery he was transfused with blood. He was diagnosed with internal bleeding from his liver. I am a nurse at the trauma center, and I know what a challenge a bleeding liver can be. Without the expertise of Dr Mychajlonka I have no doubt my dog would have died.

So helpful, sensitive and kind

by Michelle R.

We just moved here and I am so impressed with the kind people who work here. We tried to rescue a stray cat after moving here. He had been almost starved to death. We were completely broke from the move and were trying to find help for the cat. The kind office staff here at Craig Road Animal Hospital did research for me so that I could find him very low cost help from a vet. Sadly, the cat had not eaten for so long that his liver had failed and there was no way to save him. I called Craig Road animal hospital back when I found out that we had to put him down and they truly grieved with me. They were so kind and so sensitive about the situation and it was greatly appreciated. After he was cremated they scattered his ashes over their rose garden which is what they do with all of their cremated pets. I will take any and all pets that I will ever have here because they are so wonderful.

Always getting better....and they're pretty darn good!!!

by Leslie S.

I used to work here for 7 years and am now coming back to Las Vegas as a new graduate veterinarian. I started working at Craig Road since it was a new baby and have seen a tremendous amount of change and growth through the years, always in the positive direction. Dr. Mychajlonka is highly committed to making this practice the best experience for their patients and their owners. He is committed to making strides to be as progressive and up to date with veterinary medicine as possible, and that is truly important in maintaining high quality medicine for your pets.
This hospital cares about both constructive criticism and kudos and would be open to suggestions or comments in making this the best hospital experience for you and your pet!
I highly recommend Craig Road for the care of your pets. If you have any questions or would like to look into Craig Road further, please call 702-645-0331 or visit their website at www.craigrd.com

Understanding

by Valerie A.

Well I have to agree that they are a very busy practice and yes the prices are high but where is it not when it comes to vets.

I gave them a five star for one reasons; My cat Nike had a very rare sickness called Chylothorax; so rare that they have no good cure for it. Dr. Hagstette was Nike's primary doctor and she is very good and caring. She put her whole hearted efforts in helping Nike make it through this. She set up all of the appointments and referred me to specialists that knew a lot about this sickness. Dr. Hagsteete called me all the time to see how Nike was doing when he was at home and always kept in contact with me on test results, x-rays and suggestions on how to help. Even though in the long run Nike passed away he had the best angel watching over him; Dr. Hagstette. She tried to bring him back for me and was just as upset with the end result as I was. Dr. Hagstette is the one reason I will always bring my pets back to her she because she DOES care for the animals.

One of the main reasons I would maybe drop this rate down to a four star is that the on-call emergency doctor was more interested in the "formalities of the paperwork then getting Nike to the back to remove the fluids that were building up in his chest making it hard for him to breathe. He did get it done and did call me as soon as he was completed to tell me he was stabilized but I feel he could have let me deal with the paperwork aspect of it when I got there after work as they have always done for me since Nike was diagnosed.

I do alo have to say that I have never been turned away because of a pending balance and I did have a couple but they understood how sick Nike was and always saw him.

PROS: Dr. Hagstette
CONS: There idea of "Formalities" in emergency situations

Kennels are great

by Roger S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 11,262

This is our vet and the dogs and the cat love him. They also have kennels that we have used several times when we go on vacation. The animals are extremely well cared for and the kennels are very very clean. We've had all the dogs neutered here and were able to bring them home that day. When we had a question or concern, we called and they were helpful even in the middle of the night, they called back. We will not go anywhere else for our pets.

by yedid h. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,329

One day I was driving around town around six o'clock at night and I had my dog in the car were no place to leave him for the night. I drove by and saw they were still open. They were more than happy to take him in last minute and give him one last shot he needed in order to board the night at hteir facilities. They are not only convinient but they are also extremely affordable. I was pretty satisfied with their services and would recommend them to anybody. The vet and staff were friendly and you could tell my dog would be safe for the night.

Do not take your pets here

by Trish F. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 12,199

This animal hospital should not be in the business of boarding. They let the animals stay in the cages to long and let them sit in urine and feces. However, if you are in a bind the rates are reasonable.

Healthy puppies

by Kristen B. | insider Insider | Rank: 23,282

My sister's dog had puppies last week. During the process, Abby, the mother dog, kept having contractions, but no puppies seemed to be coming out. Therefore, after a while, my sister called Craig Rd. Animal Hospital. They had an on-call veternarian who was able to come and meet my sister and her dog Abby at the hospital. A couple of hours later, Abby was a mommy to nine healthy puppies. If the veternarian was not so prompt, the results might not have been the same!

Vets Who Care

by Steve C. | insider Insider | Rank: 18,513

After recently moving to Las Vegas it was very important that we find a vet for our three Ragdoll cats. They have been a part of our lives, and most importantly, our children's lives for over seven years. We believe that this Animal Hospital is a place that cares greatly about their patients. The business hours are great. However, each time we have veen there it is very noisy and seems disorganized. But once you get through all that the animal care is very professional.

Prices Ouch!

by Sonya B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,862

When my dog had emergency surgery to remove her eye and the girls up front were very helpful. They took care of my Sweetie with a gentle touch, but when I saw the bill for $900, my jaw almost hit the floor. I was pleased with the service, but the cost was outragous, but what could I do, I had to get my Sweetie back.

Great Hours but Very Busy

by Lisa M. | insider Insider | Rank: 32,039

I have been taking my animals to them for about 3 years. I love their hours. They open early and take walk-ins until 9pm. I am a 9-5er and it is difficult when it's urgent but not an emergency.

Dr. Mich did a surgery on my dog's leg and she was better than new. I have also boarded my dogs there for a week and was worried about them being freaked out, but they were both fine when I picked them up.

Though it can be a little hectic and unorganized at the front during busy times, if you get there early or late the wait is not too long.

I will difinitely continue to take them there.

Dr mychajlonka- The greatest in my book

by MELODY M.

In the past I had two older dogs one I had to put down because of a huge tumor. The other one had seizures and the medical bill was huge but Craig rd animal hospital was willing to work with me I guess because I have been a customer for a long time. Dr mychjlonka was great with our feline taz he had a urinary blockage and saved his life.
Now I have to new Min Pins and purchased pet insurance for sullivan and precious and including taz. In the long run its already paid to have the insurance. After sullivan turned a year I found out he was a diabetic. Just alone the insulin is 30.00 a bottle and the needles less than that but having insurance helps it covers all. Dr mychjlonka is the best and so is his assistant Dee.....Just asked her Sullivan is always happy to greet her...........MELODY MOSES

neglectful?

I took my dog here to be kenneled early in the summer. He had never been kenneled before, and I made it clear he was not used to cages, or leashes. When I went to pick him up, he was covered in scabs. When I asked what happened, know one had even noticed. It took two weeks for all the cuts to heal. I don't know what happened, but I will never take him back there again.
