I have been there several times, since I live nearby and am Irish, but I will never return. One of the bartenders is just horrible. He is lazy, unfriendly, and makes the whole experience unpleasant. He should find a job in a different field.

Well first you walk in and you get overpowered by the STENCH of smoke from the pub. I have been here before so I know to ask to sit far,far away from the pub side. After we are seated we sit and order. Meal comes and no fanfare. The only reason I am writing this is because after the food was dropped at the table we NEVER saw our server again. The drinks were long gone and the meal was finished and I was waiting for my server to come back and give us refills on the sodas, and give us our check. I waited about 5 minutes (everyone is done just sitting there), before I asked another server walk by to please send us our server. It really isn't saposed to be that way, and there is alot of other restaurants out there to spend my money at and get better service.

We have been going in this pub for 5 years until I was told I could not pay a machine. It was being held until another customer was done with the machine she was playing on.??
The bartender said she is a regular that has priority over every one else. Maybe because she had 60.00 for a tip in front of her machine she was playing??????
She got mad knocked over a bar stool when she thought I was going to play it, so I left, will not be back.

Not cool!!

We have been enjoying this Pub and Grill for 5 years. It's a happy place, with excellent service and outstanding food. We even ate Thanksgiving Dinner there one year when our oven broke. It was fantastic. Another don't miss is the corned beef and cabbage--we always order it on St. Patrick's Day, and it's superb. The soups here are home made, thick and tasty. I've never had one bad meal, nor poor service. Truly outstanding in all respects.

Using CitySearch and other online sources to find an Irish Pub (Fado being just too far to drive after a long day), we found Kavanaugh's, read the reviews - admittedly puzzled by the kudos to fiesta salad and barbeque at an Irish pub - and decided to give it a shot.

The exterior was definitely Vegas with neon green lights outlining a 'trying too hard to prove we're a pub from 'cross the pond' architecture which, incidentally, made it quite clear that it was not. The place was busy, so our spirits were lifted (after all, it had to be good if it was busy.... right?).

The interior has a lot of authentic-looking European charm which helps with ambience and atmosphere. There was a nice big fireplace in the center of the restaurant, effecting a nice separation of the dining and bar areas. The stained glass and other doorways were definitely warming us up to an Irish pub spirit. Seating is a mix of tables, booths, and half-table/half-booths good enough for just the two of us or larger parties (a separate room helps with the latter as well); the wood is nice and dark and actually feels like real wood seating - not that laminated stuff at so many other places. I don't know that I agree with feeling that I was "beamed" into authenticity, but the interior layout and decor definitely helped make up for the exterior.

The food is bar food. It was tasty, there was a lot of it, but an Irish menu it was not. Slapping an Irish-sounding name or geographical reference into quotes and then placing it above Taco Salad does not lend any authenticity to it. They had an Irish stew, fish and chips, bangers and mash.... and that's basically it.

Again, the food was GOOD. Real bleu cheese dressing, large, fresh produce, potatoes, etc.... but this is NOT an Irish pub.

If you want to eat at a UK-style pub with actual English and Irish, go to Crown and Anchor on Tropicana, go to Fado on Eastern (formerly inside GVR).

I have been a regular at Kavanaughs since I work in the area. even if I didn't work nearby, I would make the drive for the food and friendly staff. My favorite is the Fiesta salad with its fresh ingredients and large portion size. The prices are great, and portions are sized to the hungry eater. Authentic pub atmosphere makes this place a winner.

Not a huge beer selection for an irish pub but they do have Guinness and Beamish. Sunday morning/afternoon brunch is by far their best feature. For several extra dollars over their regular breakfast meals you can get unlimited champagne, and these meals are very large including toast, home fries, eggs, and whatever your meal might have been i.e. steak. It's also a good location for other meals too.

Bar wise it's not too impressive, the pub portion isn't anything special, no abundance of tv to watch sports or like I said before a large beer selection. Service here is great though and the servers tend to be very friendly and happy to be there.

The menu at this place is wonderful couldnt ask for a better selection. The Foodi s great and leaves you wanting to go back soon. The staff is either good or bad I guess it depends on the day with them.

Kavanaugh's has the feeling of an authentic Irish Pub. You can enjoy a great selection of draft beers, Irish stew and corned beef sandwiches. The staff is very friendly and the prices are reasonable. Kavanaugh's is right in the middle of one of the city's fastest growing areas and road construction can make getting in and out of the area difficult.

PROS: Good food, Great authentic atmosphere
CONS:

If you feel all great fun places are on the strip, or in Summerlin, this is a refreshing find on the North side - Yes, we in North Las Vegas like to have fun too. The moment you walk into Kavanaughs you are "beamed" into an authentic Irish Pub. Only thing missing is the accent, although I've heard it an Irish braugh or two while enjoying the Irish stew, or their great Steaks and Bar B Que
