I usually head upstairs to the childrens section with my brothers. The downstairs is usually full of homeless people while upstairs is free of them. There are many opportunities for learning with the different programs they offer including sign language classes for all ages, group readings and puzzle help. The place is a haven for kids.

This is a nice library with good selections. The used book section is small and they do not have very many books for sale. The museum is great and an educational place to take children. Out side is a large statue of a tortus that is big enough for children to set on.

PROS: Parking within reasonable walking distance
CONS: Small used book section

Right off the bat, I'll tell you many homeless will be in and around this library during the week, but I will drive from Henderson with my family to go to this library, it's that good. Besides the planned seminars and events that they have, the true gem of this library is the reference desk. They are extraordinarily friendly and helpful. They're professionalism and knowledge reminds me of a university library. The children's section of this library is also very good and the library shares the property with a the Lied Museum - a science /learning center for kids.
