Silver State Overhead Door

My first thought was Oh my Lord, who is this guy (said his name was John), and was gruff and hard selling and no clue as to in my humble opinion what he should or should not say. I was not feeling my best, medical issues and disabled, I wanted to know the point. He was talking about a garage door which was installed like 13 or 14 years ago by contractors who built our home. He proceeded to basically tell me I wasn't very something, "helpful, nice to him?" I explained that he had phoned my home, not the other way around.
I asked if the call had been recorded and of course he said no. I asked to speak to his Manager and he said he wouldn't do that either.

So, I found I believe his name was Gary. Nice enough person. Right away offered to get me off the list. Had various reasons why I might have been targeted. Apologized for John and was going to phone him. He was pretty cool.

The only thing that bothered me a bit, was I got the impression, that this was not the first time "Gary" if I am right about the name, had heard this. Or so it felt. I certainly didn't want anyone losing their job in these days and times.

HOWEVER, WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE DO NOT CALL LIST?
All the companies are supposed to live by it. THEY DON'T, SO I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE TO USE THEIR HOME NUMBERS TO PHONE US. MAYBE THEN, THEY'LL THINK A LITTLE LONGER , MAYBE LOOK A LITTLE HARDER AT THE LIST AND BE JUST A BIT NICER WHEN INVADING OUR PRIVACY.

I have used this door company for over 10 years with every and any problems I had with my garage door. The owner is a really cool and helpful guy who makes sure his customers are well taken care of. Their prices are reasonable and the employees are great.
