Pumi Oriental Restaurant

Ever since the new owners took over, this place has gone downhill. A waitress never came to our booth for at least 20 minutes. I had to track the owner down to ask if someone could serve us.

We decided to have the all you can eat sushi. The owner insisted on us sitting at the sushi bar but we wanted to remain in the booth. He told us that in the past the service is slow if you sit in a booth. We decided to chance it since the service was slow already and ordered multiple rolls.

No one informed us that there were 'rules' for the all you can eat sushi. Near the end of our meal another owner decided to tell us that we cannot take anything to go (which I told her that we were not planning on taking anything to go) and that we had to eat everything on our plate or they will charge us full price for any portion of a roll that was left. We informed her that we were not aware of this and she said that was the 'rules'. We ended up having a couple pieces of a roll left over and some rice. They charged us for 2 extra rolls. We asked to speak to the owner. Long story short, we ended up being yelled at by both owners and asked why we could not read the fine print on the menu. Needless to say, we will NEVER return to this restaurant and we will tell everyone we know about the horrible customer service from the owners!!!

Went to dinner at this restaurant at the suggestion of some local relatives. To our horror, we saw a mouse run through the dining room. Owners suggested we brought it in. Food was average at best. Maybe after you come to the realization that there could be mouse droppings in your food, you lose your appetite? I'm not coming back.

I have eaten at this sushi bar for several years. The quality of food is high and the service is great. The staff is extremely friendly and take the time to know their loyal customers. Sushi Chef Joe is awesome!!!! Great place to hang out with friends!

As the son of a man who frequently must go to Hibachi-table restaurants, I've found myself in my fair share of these restaurants over the years. Thus far, Pumi tops the list.

The food here is top notch. If you want the finest food a Hibachi-table restaurant can offer, you'll get it here. The staff are always friendly and entertaining, and the portions are good-sized as well. Anyone who eats at this restaurant is likely to back me up - fried rice has never tasted better. And unlike Benihana, you don't have to walk through a smoke-filled casino to reach the restaurant!

I only have minor complaints, but I feel they need to be addressed. For instance, sometimes the staff do seem to have difficulty receiving and carrying out instruction (I've asked for a glass of water with no lemon every time I've gone into the restaurant, only to get a lemon anyway.) But this could be the language barrier at work, as with most restaurants of this type. My other complaint is that there are only a few Hibachi tables, and a lot more space set up for casual dining. Why couldn't they use that space for more Hibachi tables? One other issue is that there is no choice on soup. They have Miso and that's it. You can't get the consume' type soup most restaurants like this have.

My issues with this place are few and far between. This is Hibachi cooking done right.

I have eaten here many times and I think the food is great. The portions are good and the pricing is pretty good. It is not very cheap but no expensive at the time. The people are nice and the place is really clean. There is a big parking lot so finding a space is never a problem. I would suggest trying the Pumi special fried rice and some type of roll or sushi. The shrimp tempura is also very good.

I had heard from a few friends how AWESOME this restaurant was... and it wasn't bad! I had california rolls, and they were pretty good size. Also had the sesame chicken, but I didn't care for it that much. Overall, I'd say it was OK.

here is a great restaurant!!!!! its very clean and has great food and the service is the best in Henderson...we have eaten there several times and have never been disappointed...try it you'll like it
