Eagle Trace Apartments

After living here 7 years, we are going to move. Crime here is on the increase. Burglaries and cars being broken into are now a nightly occurrence here. Don't believe me, check the LVMPD crime site. The front gate has been broken for over six months and the front security office stays empty and unused. The pools are closed a lot (last summer shut down by the health department for over two months). And they only allow two security guards for over 800 apartments at night, and won't allow more yet nearby complexes have 6 for less amount of apartments. It is not safe to go out at night. The only thing Eagle Trace puts money into, is landscaping, paint for the streets, water for the grass and their show rentals. Yes it looks nice on the surface, but beneath that, there are serious crime and safety issues and the thugs are taking over yet complaints to the office go unheard and not acted upon. What is it going to take to fix Eagle Trace's management problem. We don't know and we don't care anymore as paying $1000 a month for a 3 bedroom, just to deal with crime outside your door, isn't worth it anymore.

Gettoo.... Durg Deals, Car Thefts, Home invasions, Murder!!! I was checking my mail one night and as I was checking it there was a shooting at the pool behind the leasing offfice about 20 ft away from me. This was in 04-05 so things might be different now but for the year that I was there it sucked. My wife would not walk to or from her car alone after dark. The gates never worked and security was a joke.

We're lived here since February and have had no problems. I've heard that the apaprtments were bad a few years back, but since management has changed it's been very good. We love the landscaping. I don't know what the viewer before me was talking about, but in the section where we stay, it is very peaceful. You may see a few people hanging out, but nothing to make you unconfortable. I've never seen roaches, silverfish, or spiders in our apartment. The security is always riding around and the police also has access to a special location on the property as well.

My cons about this place is that the security gate is always broken. The pools are dirty and they don't monitor the underage kids that frequent it. Also, there are kids who like to play near the street which is annoying and dangerous.

But all in all we like it here.

but it wasn't Eagle Trace. Yes, this is SUPPOSE to be a gated community, however the gates are always open 24 hours a day and there is no guard on duty at the gate, just an empty building. There is and has never been a phone at the gate to call residents in the four years we've been here. Crime is a problem here with last year there being forced home invasions. They have since changed security companies and things are quite a bit better crime wise. There are four or five pools here however, most of the time they are shut down and chained closed. Bugs were never a problem until this year when they changed exterminators. This summer is the first time I have seen spiders, silverfish and roaches in my apartment. It is now not uncommon to see at least 3-4 spiders per day, the same for silverfish, and cockroaches in areas that have no food and never have had food (i.e. bedrooms, bathrooms).

Additionally parking is a problem as you get only one assigned parking spot per apartment.

At night there are a lot of people out and about including children. They wait for the single security vehicle (in an apartment complex that has nearly 300 apartments) to pass and then run behind them.

Drug dealers and underage residents hang out at pools, tennis courts, basketball courts late at night and around buildings they do not live at.

Rent has been raised an average of $50.00 per year.

Appearance wise, it is wonderful with the green grass, the tall palms and the newly paved streets but you need to look past the surface to see clearly. Make sure you look at the apartment you are going to be moving into BEFORE you sign any contract. I would not advise taking an apartment in the back of the complex.

We are leaving at the end of this lease.

I stayed in these apartments with a friend for a couple of weeks. It is way out in North Las Vegas. There is not much around close by. But the apartments were beautiful. They were very big inside. They even have rather large 3 bedrooms. Also available on the property, is a centrally located tot lot. This is rare for the area. They are a gated community, with a phone for visitors to callyou and be let in. I love this feature. The neighborhood around it is bad. But, once you are inside here. It is completely different.
