Fights, bad attendance keeping, rude administrators. No good. Do your entire family a favor and do not put your child through this.

Both of my kids have either attended or are currently attending Molasky. I was recently apalled to find out they have a no jacket/coat policy on campus. I know we live in the desert, but it definitely gets cold here. Students MUST walk outside several times a day to go from hallway to hallway, to the gym, to the cafeteria, etc.; in addition to, having to wait outside for the hallways to open in the morning and after lunch.

Sometimes it's difficult enough to get kids to wear coats, but when the staff prevents students from doing so it compounds the problem. On a recent very cold day, my daughter started putting her plain light coat on while leaving the cafeteria on her way outside to wait for the hallways to open once again. The dean stopped her and told her she couldn't wear her coat.

I called the dean and she said that acknowledged students aren't allowed to wear jackets/coats during the school day... but ADMITTED that for the 10 minutes she spends outside during the morning, she WEARS a coat! This comes from someone who is responsible for the safety and health of our children and should have a college education. I also notice a teacher that is responsible for preventing parents from entering the parking lot during the morning wearing a zipped up jacket with a coat over the top every morning. Hypocrits! This is a "do what I say, not as I do' attitude.

I'm not talking about a fashion statement or gang-related clothing... I'm talking about the simple fact of HEALTH! I called every middle/junior high and high school in the area (7 of them) and none of them have a policy like this. They all stated they would like students to remove coats and hats/gloves upon entering the classroom, but they could wear them during the school day.

Since when did school adminstrators begin not caring about students while protecting themselves from the elements? RIDICULOUS!

Molasky middle school has a great summer track break program. They offer field trips every week for the Kids Kamp program which is already included in the current cost of 65.00 per week. My daughter really enjoys the weekly trips to the YMCA to go swimming and every Friday there is a different event such as movies, bowling, skating, etc. I would definitely recommend this program, however they do fill up quickly.
