Green Cactus Fresh Mexican Grill

The freshest 'fast' food around. We love the vegetarian burritos even though we aren't vegetarians. They are that good. Our kids love the chips and tacos.

It's fresh, fresh, fresh! We've been going there for a sit down lunch now and then, but most of the time we do take-out. It's not far from the Stony Brook Campus so, if you go in the late afternoon, in might be a little busy. Even so, there's never a long wait. And, even if there were- it would be worth it.

If your in the mood to spend a hour or two in the bathroom check it out. Other than that has good food and service is good. Not cheap but certainly not expensive.

If you are looking for a romantic dinner, you'd be better finding a different place. IF you are looking for a cheap meal that tastes great because it is made from fresh home-made ingredients, this is the place for you. It is right across the road from a university, so expect it to be packed with students

The great thing about the green cactus is that everything is SO fresh. The pico de gallo is to die for. I also like the Steak Ranchero. It is a very informal place, but who cares what the place looks like when the food is this good (and not too greasy like some Mexican food).

Small, clean, and friendly restaurant. Gets often busy, but they great and dynamic staff gets everybody food on time. Great place for a casual date or family eat out. s
