I grew up in Bushwick/Williamsburg, and have know the Big Apple to be one of the best places to eat. I have great memories of the place when the orignal people owned it. Those people had character, and so did their food. They made you feel like a family member and a close friend. The guy that owns it now could care less about the food or the people. He's rude and I think a bit of a bigot, hands me my change on the counter and never smiles. The counterpeople or person depending on who he hires or fires that week since there's rarely anyone there, are just as rude. The food: overpriced and underflavored. Lucky if you get it cooked throughly! He wraps the muffins in cellophane to carry them over. The old owners would give away what was left because they'd order fresh the next day. I ordered pancakes and got something that wasn't cooked in the middle and was so dry I went through a half bottle of syrup! The sausages were dry because theyre fried which they do to save time. The coffee was watered down and it all cost me $6! I could've had a McBreakfast across the street for less! As for other meals, let's just say I once ordered a ceasar chicken wrap, and the chicken was under cooked. I was picking off pieces of raw meat. Minimum on fries. Cost: $8. Sad to say, you'd get a better meal at the Mickey D's across the street, which they, as well as the Dunkin' Doughnuts a block away are kicking their rear. Even the coffee carts are doing better.
