Besu Salon & Day Spa (Studio 24)

This salon is charming and beautiful, the staff is very attentive and really knows how to treat a new guest. I had never had my hair cut or colored here before, and the people/staff at Besu made me feel really comfortable. I am super neurotic about my hair- just so you know. It was nice to be able to get out all my frustrations without them rolling their eyes. Anyway, I got an amazing hair cut, and a great color as well. Though it's far from my apartment, I'm totally going to make the trip back. See you in 6-8 weeks!!

Besu Salon is really the best salon ive ever been to. I've tried so many salons all over and this is the only one that actually understands what i want and made me look beautiful.
Not only are they good with the haircuts and color...they are greatttt for their facials and massages!! my skin has never looked so beautiful.
And the atmosphere is fantastic,they offer u wine, they are really nice and friendly, its so far the best place and most comfortable salon ive ever been to.
Worth the try! i def recomend it!:)

I was way overprocessed by one of the top salons in NYC. No One! knew what to do, how to fix my color or how to save me after the botch job. My hair was the dreaded mess all women fear will be your greatest nightmare. and low and behold I saw Melissa in the window. A cool, spunky down town chic who not only looked the part but knows color.

Every one there is great all the way from the salon to the spa. I loved the facial there it was so relaxing and my face felt flawless i loved it. The people there who do coloring are amazing they can fix anything.

This is a great salon to go to. Melissa is definitly the best to go to for a great haircut or color. She's the only one I trust with my hair and always has been for years. I get compliments on my hair all the time, and people always ask who does it. She's great even when you're not sure what you want to do, she'll pick something that fits you perfect. Try her once and I'm positive you'll always go back for her !!!!!

What an amazing spa! When I walked in was great by the OWNER! How cool is that?? She walked me to their spa section where I was offered a drink and then promptly walked in to the treatment room.. Very clean and comfortable room! The entire experience was wonderful. I've already made my next appointment! Looking forward to it!

she knows what to do with my hair I've seen many happy guys come out of her chair and that says a lot to me. I always have problems with the way stylists cut my hair. 2 days later it starts looking like a week old but with her cut my hair lasts longer and it still looks good a month later
she also does womens haircut and color.... and do they look fantastic !! You go girl !!

I love Besu Salon!! Its the ONLY salon I go to, for a hair cut, massage or facial!!
The service is great! They treat you like a king, and are very professional!
The place is Gorgeous! Especially the Spa. Its very relaxing and romantic.
Iv'e had sciatica and back pain for a while and went to tons of different spa's until i found this one, and they were the only spa that actually helped me and now my back pain is completely gone!
And their facials wow!!!!! My skin never felt and looked better! And I did Not brake out after!!!
I recommend this Salon to all my friends and they don't stop thanking me!!

I love love love my hair! I walked by and decided to come in becuase the place was really busy and my Boyfriend just broke up with me and I was feeling a little down about myself... but we won't get into that! Lol! Anyways I was only looking for a blowout but I changed my mind once I met Melissa... I decided to get a makeover and just go for a cut and color and I look amazing! I should have come in earlier! These stylists are so great and there were so many customers just drinking wine and relaxing and getting their hair done like old friends! This is my new place! I need to start taking care of myself and their prices are so reasonable that I'll get blowouts every week!

I bought my Mom a day of beauty and of course I couldn't resist joining her. The first minute we entered we were greeted so warmly by their friendly staff and offered a glass of wine... then we were escorted to the Spa lounge where we relaxed on the couch for a few minutes before we were taken to our treatment rooms... the massage was heavenly! After that we both got facials and then we got dressed and got our hair done... my Mom got color by Marianna and I got Holly for highlights let me tell you we left looking like a million bucks...after that I took her out to Japonais for dinner but thats another story! It was a great day and weeks later my hair still looks hot!!!

I "discovered" Roni 5 years ago, when I stopped a woman on the street to ask where she got her color done. The shades were perfect, the amount of highlights were perfect, the contrast was perfect...I just knew I had to go to her hair dresser. Turned out that that person was Roni, and I've been having him do my color (both single process and highlights) ever since. He is also the best person for a blow-out that I've ever encountered. I have been having my hair blown out in the city once or twice a week -- I have a massive amount of thick curls and frizz -- for the last 25 years, and no one touches him when it comes to a reasonably priced blow out. I also really love the atmosphere at the salon. Friendly, laid-back, welcoming (they always offer you a glass of wine)...and the massages are fantastic there too!!!

Ronnie has been cutting my hair for at least 4 years now and I have been very happy with the out come each time I visit him.

No one can cut my hair like Ronnie, I send him many referrals, every time I get a compliment on my hair I always tell them who and where I get it done!

I just moved to the neighborhood and im trying to look for another hairstylist since my guy in uptown is so expensive, and a bit too far from me,anyway i checked online and i found this guy name Ronie.

He is excellent, he can make you feel comfortable and he is so funny too,he make my hair gorgeous,and my co workers love it,the cut , the color, the way he style it,its PERFECT.

For the price that i pay its really worth it, very affordable.
good crew, the wine, the music.amazing.

So try him, you will not regret it , i promise.

After having a horrifying 'spa day' at another spa I decided that I needed to have a make up day. I decided to go to Beso Salon and I wasn't disappointed. The massage was awesome, and Erika , my therapist was very attentive, checking in ever so often to see if the pressure was right ect. I will definitely be going back.

I used to live around the corner from Besu salon but recently moved to the Upper West Side and I still come down to Gramercy so that Melissa can do my hair. She has given me the best, most natural-looking color I've ever had and does a great cut too. I would never go to anyone else!

If actions speak louder then words, then the fact that I've been going to Holly for 6 years must say a lot! She did my eyebrows once and after that I refused to let anyone else do them. I moved upstate a year ago, and I still drive 1.5 hrs into the city to see Holly. When I get my hair done, I always walk out looking phenomenal and get compliments :) She always knows what look will flatter you, and I couldn't recommend her enough!

I heard some ladies talk about how amazing the spa was, so I'll have to make a massage appointment next!

I also found this place through the Groupon promo and all I can say is WOW - I had no idea a massage could be this good. I went in tired, achy, and honestly, in a pretty lousy mood. After my hour-long massage I was so blissed out I could barely speak let alone walk. Maybe it's just because I have a lot of stress, coupled with poor circulation - who knows - but this was a totally eye opening, transformative experience for me. It is now a full day later and I'm still feeling the relaxed "glow." Can't wait to go back.

Since I met Holly she has totally reshaped my eyebrows, she has brought out an amazing hair color and shine that I never thought possible. After every visit I feel like a new person! She has a great eye for what haircut, color or shape of eyebrows that suits you best and she is always attentive to your needs. I have very sensitive skin and she immediately made sure the salon had a bottle of Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo there for my visits. Sadly I couldn't bring Holly to my destination wedding a month ago but prior she had a one on one session taking me through every step of the updo and made sure I didn't leave until I got it exactly right! Personalized service and care like this is hard to find and I'm not going anywhere!

I hesitate to write this, because I don't want to share Suzanne with anyone. But, because great work deserves recognition, here goes. I stumbled upon Besu, because of Groupon and I am so glad I tried it.
Suzanne, is professional, comforting, intuitive and gave me one of the best massages I have ever had. When it was over, I felt like a different person and the effects lasted for quite a long time. I have made my next appointment and can't wait for the day to come. Don't wait, make your appointment now.

I experienced a magical--almost mystical spa treatment. First, Suzanne treated me to a cranial sacral treatment that mellowed my chronic growling neck pain to a purr. Then she delivered the most delicate yet complete facial I recall receiving with all organic products. She takes her time and makes every move with a preternatural sensitivity, wielding masks, mists and extraction tools with supreme skill. Afterwards my face felt fresh, soft and radiant. I have been going to Ronie Borja now for over 6 years and trust him completely. He's not afraid to disagree with me on what I want and he's always right in the end! He does great cuts and blow-outs. I always feel like a rock star after seeing him. Besu Salon is a friendly spot and I enjoy the banter between the stylists. You feel like you are in a sitcom. Velusia (sp?) also assists the stylists with hair-washing etc. and she is super sweet. I highly recommend this salon for great value and service.

If I received a dollar for evertime someone complimented my hair and eyebrows, I would be a very wealthy woman. I remember the first time we met, she asked that I change the side I part my hair because I tend to tilt my head too much to one side. I reluctantly agreed, and ever since my head is midline and I have less neck pain. She is probably the most amazing eyebrow threader and is a real pro at shaping them.
I usually go to the salon after work, and never have a problem getting a same day appointment. After a long day of work it is great to wind down with a complimentary glass of wine while having my hair done.

I too am a Groupon client. I had Erica, she was very nice, she had a great technique. She asked if I had a specific area to focus on and she did. I walked out feeling very relaxed and pampered. The only drawback for me was that I didn't get my full hour. On the bed from hands on to hands off was 47 minutes. I have three more to go, hopefully the timing will improve. But overall, the massage was very good.

I recently discovered Besu Salon, on 3rd Ave at 18th St in Gramercy. I get my hair blown out straight and have had a color too. I go to Ronie Borja, he is a great guy and does a fantastic job. I have had him do my color, and it turned out great. I see Ronie twice a week to get my hair blown out and they always turn out great-- he really knows what he's doing and is fast. Their prices are also good, and you can buy a package of 10 if you get your hair blown out a lot. Basically you end up getting one for free. Besu is also open on Sundays.

I got this deal on Groupon, and made an appt. I heard some bad reviews and I was nervous about this place!!! They were ALL WRONG!!! This place was EXCELLENT! I had Mika and she was AWESOME! I read that someone didn't get there full time. They were wrong about that too. It was a full hour not including the prep time (changing and fliping) I timed it. I loved-loved-loved it. Whoever, write thoses bad reviews must have but having a bad day. It was a great deal and I had a WONDER TIME!!! and I heard they have wine after 5pm. Yummy

Ronnie is amazing-- he's the best kept secret in downtown NYC when it comes to drying your hair. They are killer! My sister and I have been going to him for over a decade and he never disappoints. He's quick, efficient and lovely and never shows the slightest bit of aggravation over the thickness of my hair. He leaves my hair shiny, flat and silky with his magic hands. He is a gem. Ronnie is outstanding! I decided to take the plunge and chop off all my hair. My cut came out even better than I envisioned it. We even decided to go with some highlights to give it that extra edge. I was in New York on a business trip and needed my hair cut. I stopped at the salon and Ronie took care of me. It was the best cut I've ever received and he is fun to be around too. While I was waiting I was amazed at the coloring job he gave this girl. It turned out so beautiful - it was very natural looking yet so rich in color and depth. I don't know anything about colored hair - but this job he did for her was AMAZING. Anyway, every time I go to New York, I go to Ronie for a terrific cut. Oh yeah, I was interested in covering my gray but he talked me out of it...I thought that it really showed his integrity by not coloring my hair just to make a buck. The salon is really nice too, I appreciated the nice receptionist and the glass of wine while I waited.

Salon is always clean and full of fun conversation. Excellant magazine selection for those times sitting under the dryer. Always had cool upbeat music playing. Melissa always cuts my hair. She is super awesome at translating excatly what I want onto my head! When im being indecisive, or having a hard time explaining I can count on her to add in her opinion and taylor it to what she know that I like. Never had a bad haircut. Shes the best "bang-ular" cutter i know!

I saw BeSu written up in New York Magazine and decided to book a day of Beauty for myself and my girlfriend (as a surprise for her birthday) and from the minute I walked in I felt right at home. The owner Rebecca was there and she was so like an old friend offering us a glass of red wine immediately and made us feel right at home but being that the salon was so busy I had my doubts about my planned "relaxing" spa day.... but, the minute we walked down to the sound proof spa and saw the soothing and beautiful modern decor and got settled into the plush monogrammed robes in the spa lounge... anyways Karen the facialist was the best! and Joan and Eamon gave us the best massages and afterwards My girl got a blowout by Marianna and Ronie gave me a great haircut! We had the best day and plan to make this a repeat ritual to reward ourselves!

as the former beauty and style editor of nylon magazine, I?ve had the priveledge of having my hair done at the most swanky expensive salons in both new york and la...yet no one has ever come close to being half as amazing as ronnie borja. he is--- truly--- a hair master. im not trying to sound conceited, but people stop me on the street all the time to compliment my color. It?s all due to to ronnie. He just truly gets it. I have recommended a million people to him and no one has ever been disappointed. His blowouts are superb. He is fast, lovely, competent, kind and totally cool. NO ONE COMES CLOSE TO BEING HALF AS AMAZING AS RONNIE! my sister becca, who is a famous rockstar publicist, agrees. I have been to many talented stylists in NYC. No one compares to the talent and end result that Ronnie has achieved with my hair every time. He has fixed my hair several times after other highly rated salons made a mess out of it. Ronnie has an exceptional understanding for color, and what works for each individual. He is pleasant, patient, and truly cares that you are 100% happy with your hair. A shining star.

Very cozy place in the heart of Gramercy,excellent blowdry from Ronie,the only guy i know that gave me a bouncy look,coz my hair is so flat,and straight,and it lasted for few days,I waited for a little while because he is doing this highlights with tons of hair and the way i look at it,it looks AMAZING.

I dont mind trying him for my highlights next time.

I LOVE this place! BeSu Salon is amazing! This is the third time I popped in this week! 1st for an unbelievable blowout with Melissa while passing by on a whim... then I decided to be brave and get my hair cut two days later (I usually go uptown for 3 times the price) and as Melissa was busy I tried Ronnie and he was amazing! He got me to cut off a lot of the dead ends I was scared to shed and I look 5 years younger and today I went back to him for highlights! I am hooked! Maybe its because the owner Rebecca chats with me like she knows me for years over a glass of wine or the music is so upbeat and I just feel like I am hanging out with friends .... whatever it is... I look fabulous...got eyelash extensions with Shiella and I feel and look so so good! Go to BeSu! You'll love everyone and look gorgeous!

Great salon. Small and unassuming but there is a really great young, fun vibe to the whole place. Music is playing and everybody seems to be having a good time. I followed Sheila there from another salon, she's great. Definitely recommended.
