I have been bringing my 2 ferrets to Whitestone Vet Care for the past year. Sage and Koda are always treated very well by Dr. Starkey. He is extremely knowledgeable about exotics; especially ferrets. One of my ferrets was suffering from hair loss which Dr. Starkey told me is an indication of adrenal disease in ferrets. He confirmed that she had adrenal disease with a blood test and we decided that the best course of action for Sage was to get a melatonin implant. She got her implant back in February of 2011 and she has since grown a full coat of fur and put on some weight. Although she is not "cured" of her disease, it is being managed nicely by this implant. I will continue to come to Dr. Starkey with any questions that I have regarding my ferrets in the future. A+ vet and also a great support staff!!

I recently adopted a rabbit. I live in Queens NY and was looking for a vet close by but was willing to travel if it meant finding her great care. I was in luck - I found Dr. Starkey at Whitestone Vet Care. Although he is a board certified avian specialist, his knowledge of rabbits and their behavior is unmatched! When I first brought her in for an exam, I had a ton of questions being that I never owned a rabbit before. Dr. Starkey answered every one of them, and then some. He gave me advice on feeding her, her cage at home, behavior issues, - even medical conditions rabbits are prone to. He informed me how important it was to have her spayed to significantly reduce the chance of cancer. I had no idea that was even an issue with rabbits! His gentle care of her was impeccable! The girls at the desk, Laura, Nichelle and Sharon are all so helpful when I call with silly questions. They always take the time to listen and give me the best advice for the situation. The techs are wonderful as well Rachel and Dayhanna always handle my bunny with such care and put both her and me at ease. I cant tell you how happy I am that I found this place!!

I took one of our birds to see Dr. Starkey; He'd been hiding in an awkward spot and got stepped (not direct, but sort of to the side). So, a very scary situation. Whitestone was closer than the alternatives so off we went -- me, HuaBu and his mate for company. Whitestone Vet Care slotted us into an already tight schedule and HuaBu was seen quickly and given a complete check including x-rays. As it happened, he was OK (though he lost his voice for a few days). But what a relief: A great clinic with an Avian specialist (whom we'd known in other contexts). This is a very good set of reasons for regular return visits.

We have a small Yorki-Poo named Yodle that we have been bringing to Dr. Wyler at Whitestone Vet Care for several months now. Dr. Wyler is extremely professional and also obviously an animal-lover that treats Yodle as if she were his own dog. He always takes the time to discuss in detail the vaccinations and medication Yodle needs, and also gives very good advice on training. We immediately felt comfortable in the office it is clean and well maintained, and the receptionists are extremely polite and always helpful. After a bad experience at a different Vet, it was truly a blessing to find such a great Vet! I would recommend Whitestone Vet Care to anyone with a pet of their own.

I have been seeing Dr. Wyler at WVC since September 2008. He continues to be knowledgeable and friendly each time I bring in my two dachshunds. He consistently has a terrific bed-side manner and his overall demeanor with the animals is superb. I would suggest WVC for your veterinary medicine needs.

WVC is my third try at finding a vet that I like. I am glad I kept looking. I do recommend them, The two Dr.'s who have seen my cats are very amiable and caring. The office staff and assistants are very proficient and the office is open until 7pm which is very convenient. I do need to research purchasing pet insurance that covers blood tests as I feel these become way too costly when you have a pet that needs frequent testing done. Other than that I have no complaints.

Whitestone Veterinary Care is absolutely the cats' meow!! I have numerous cats and have been absolutely satisfied with the care they received every time. I had been to many other vets in the area and the quality of care at WVC is heads and shoulders above them all. They are genuinely compassionate, highly competent, and honest. I totally trust them with the care of my pets. The staff are fantastic, caring, and very accomodating. Dr. Wyler is simply the best vet there is. If you have a pet, this is the place to take them! Make an appointment today!

I wish that I did not have to write this, but unfortunately I have to.
On August 18. 2009 my baby girl dog Charlemagne was poisoned and almost died.
The staff of Whitestone Vet Care consisting of Nichelle, Elizabeth, and Sophia were extremely- for lack of a better words, understanding, sympathetic, knowledgeable, patient... and so on.
Dr. Jackie Chaffer also worked in conjunction with the emergency hospital to coordinate care for Charlemagne while she was inpatient until her discharge.
I could not have done it without their kind and loving help.
If looking for a vet either new or switching to a new one the practice of Whitestone Animal Hospital is IT!!! Look no further wherever you are you have found the place for your companion and friend to have the perfect care in any and all situations.
Just a note-yesterday I was at the office and someone brought in a dog they had found. Again, Nichelle, Sophia and Irma jumped into action-scanned the dog to check for a microchip, took a picture of the dog and began to set up a poster to help find the owner.
Time and time again the staff at Whitestone Vet proves their love for animals in all situations. I thank GOD that the team is my choice for terrific animal care. Please make it yours !!!

My little Dachshund had been sick for several weeks. After going to several local vets, I was referred to Dr. Wyler and his associate and chose to go there because of their reputation for going "above and beyond" for their patients. The exam was the most thorough my little baby had ever had, and the doctor took the time to explain everything to me...what the possible causes for the illness were, what tests needed to be done. Things no one else ever thought of, or even mentioned. In the end, the doctors and staff diagnosed her problem and she made a complete recovery. I just love these people, not only because they're great doctors, but because they really cared about me and my baby.

Dr. Wyler takes great care of my puppy. He is pleasant and knowledgeable. He got my 6 y.o. daughter involved in the whole "taking care of the dog" process. The rest of the staff is also courteous and helpful. Their service prices are right in line with others in the area and their medication prices are competitive with the on-line stores. All in all, I feel that it's a great place to take your pet.

PROS: Attitude
CONS: No 24-hr emergency service

We went here when we got our pups because they took the Friends of Animals spay coupon. It didn't seem to matter if we were their customers or not. They treated the dogs kindly and didn't try to force alot of extra bills on us.

W.V.C. Happens to be the third vet I tried to use. I am glad I kept looking and found this place. The two Dr's I have met so far are very friendly and caring. The staff and assistants are also very friendly and helpful. The office is open until 7pm which is very convenient.

Pros: They offer a multi-pet discount

Cons: Even with that it's $$, Wish the discount was double :)
