Pied Piper Travel is absolutely the worst travel agency that I have ever worked with. Please do yourself a favor and do not book or spend a red cent with them.

Our January 2008 Australia cruise was marred badly by our host Michael Schutes, a pied piper employee, who moved four of my group to a table for two without consulting us. The table was so small the waiter had to put the bread basket on the wine stand. This was done without consulting us and was covered up with a lie where Michael Schutes wrote that our party wanted to be alone. How stupid, one goes on cruises for the social interaction. So, I passed around his lying note at the next mixer of our group and found that our table had been changed so a couple of his traveling buddies could change their table. What a lying sod! Ruined our experienced and embarrased us in front of the entire group. Nice going Michael Schutes! Don't use Pied Piper because they hire twits like this liar.

The following is an email exchange I had with the owner of Pied Piper Travel and I think it speaks for itself. The most unbelievably rude encounter I have ever had with a travel agent or entity and I travel a lot. I'm a platinum member of Continental airlines for over five years. Because I wasn'st clear about their policy the owner of Pied Piper "Derek" says that I should not even book with them. It would be hard to believe if you didn't read it for yourself. Start from the bottom and read up:

From: pied-piperOf course you're not obligated. You would still have the option to decline what's offered. I think it's best we not pursue this.

SO does that mean that you are obligated to go on the cruise if you clear waitlist or that you can choose at that time whether or not you wish to go?

From: PIED PIPER TRAVEL

First off, it's not our policy, it's the cruise line policy. Second off, I didn't say that you had to keep the week open. I said very clearly that you could cancel the waitlist at any time.

I think it is best that you not book our cruise.

That totally doesn't work for me. I'll just wait till next cruise. Lindblad Cruises for example, allows you to waitlist and then they call you if it opens and you can decide at that time. I don't have the kind of lifestyle that I can keep a week open IN CASE something opens up. VERY BAD POLICY ON YOUR PART.

From: pied-piper
You can cancel the waitlist at any time before it clears and get a full refund of your deposit.

But what if we have made other plans by the time the waitlist clears?

From: pied-piper
Hi, We would need a $900 deposit to make a waitlist booking. But, it would be refundable if the waitlist doesn't clear. Thanks, Derek
