Good workout center, good instructors, however when I questioned my sessions, the owner apparently thought I hung up phone; very awkward situation.

Good gym, sketchy business. Terrie's workout center is a good neighborhood gym - a lot of equipment and little to no wait times for machines. However, they had taken it upon themselves to renew my contract - had whited-out the date and

Ive been at fitness instructor for the past 4 years of my life. Ive worked in gyms from Florida to Rochester to Lockport to most recently Buffalo. Im going through a job change out of the health club industry. i needed a bit more than just calestetics and cardio. The first place that came to mind was the most convenient to my home. Went to Terrie's on Hertel (5 mins from my house). From day 1 i knew i wanted to be there. They have everything u need and more to get you into shape (no round is not a shape). IF YOUR LOOKING FOR.... a CLEAN health center...Friendly and Courteous staff...A VARIETY of well maintained equipment...Boxing fans? yep speed bags , heavy bags. Power Lifter? yep smith machine, squat racks, olympic bars. Haven't taken any classes yet but they have 50 or so CLASSES per week. 1st time exersizer? U get DIRECTION and a number of trainers to choose from. Mom? yeah there's a safe playroom. Runner? winters in Buffalo arent fun....full upstairs cardio floor. i havent even mentioned professional pilates, cycling, yoga, massage therapy....it goes on and on. Im completely satisfied with my experience there and im glad i stopped in. Check it out Buffalo!!!

Cheers to a Healthy Buffalo!! =)

I've been a member of Terrie's for the past 4 years. Why? It's convenient to where I live (I can walk there) but it also has great hours, great classes, and it's not a high pressure sales place like you get at other gyms. It's family owned and operated and you can tell. It's clean and well organized. The membership prices are great, too. The classes vary from yoga to power boxing with morning and evening classes to fit anyone's schedule. If you're looking for a nice gym with a friendly feel this is the place for you.

I joined Terries, probably, I'd say a year ago & have never been more satisfied with a gym. The staff is terrific, they are very down to earth and not pushy about sales and other packages, you ask for it & you got it is a good moto to say Terrie's goes by. The equipment is wonderful and very clean. Everywhere you look, you see one- or two staff members either cleaning the michenes, windows, vaccuming or even placing weights back where they belong. The staff at Terries, I couldnt tell you enough how generous and caring they are. Even the personal trainers are terrific and know how to carry on normal conversations instead of conversating always about health and fitness. Terries is a very convienant gym and I look forward to every other day going to one of the several classes they offer, and the other days doing free weights and cardio. Theres so much of a selection that every other day I do something different! I see much better results & this is all thanks to Terries Workout Center! Thanks guys!

Terrie's has Unbelievable hours-5:30a.m. to 11 p.m.,modern edquipment that is always available, free classes at all hours in spinning, aerobics, etc. where others charge.Terrie and her staff are knowledgeable and friendly, no bait and switch hustle or phone calls at home like most gyms in area that are more well known. Amazing that it also has the best pricing and always available parking in back. Always clean and fresh with a fruit bar. Only the private University Club of S F comes close. La Dolce Vita across street for respite before or after. Conducive to working out without missing days.

I've been a member at Terrie's since 2002, when I lived near Delaware Park. At the time, I was about 250 lbs, and tired of it. I wanted a place to work out where I could be comfortable, get results, and not be hounded with add-on sales and "personal trainers" who were nothing but ignorant (and sometimes dangerous) salesmen. Terrie's proved to be that place. Converted from a former HSBC bank branch, it's an eclectic collection of rooms that actually does a good job of separating free weights, Nautilus and other machines, a large classroom floor (recently renovated), and a cardio (treadmills/bikes) area upstairs. The staff is friendly and personable without ever being pushy, some of the equipment was recently upgraded (the Gravitron is a killer, but I love it), and it's rarely crowded (the fact that they're open about 17 hours a day on weekdays and 10+ hours a day on weekends doesn't hurt with that). I've been able to accomplish my goals of dropping fat and adding muscle in an atmosphere that far surpasses the chain McGyms that unfortunately dominate this segment.

PROS: friendly staff, Cheers-like ("everybody knows your name") atmosphere
CONS: $100 additional premium for first-time members, locker rooms only average
