Wonderful. I had a nasty virus, and every other place in NY quoted me a price of $85-$100 to fix it. The Little Laptop Shop fixed it up for just $39!!! The only problem was that I brought the laptop in on Thursday, and because it was a holiday weekend, it took almost a week to fix it. (It was ready the following Wednesday). But that being said, they offered me a deal I could have found nowhere else in the city.

Apple quoted me $850 to replace a screen I cracked. I was going to throw it out but I went to the little laptop shop and they replaced the screen for $275. I also bought a 2nd Dell for my business from them and it works great.

I sent a laptop back to the manufacturer (HP) for repair - it was still under warranty.
HP told me the motherboard was fried, and that I must have spilled something on it, so the warranty was void. HP quoted me $1,800 to install a new motherboard (it's a high-end machine).
I told HP to send the machine back to me, and took I it to Little Laptop for a second opinion. They diagnosed the problem to be obstructed air circulation, cleaned it out and it's worked beautifully ever since, and that was over a year ago. Final cost of repair: $39.

I went in looking to buy a new laptop and mentioned to the sales rep that I thought my laptop was toast. They took a look at it and had it fixed the next day for $60. That was far less than I was ready to pay for a new laptop. They had that too. I ended up buying a laptop for my son recently from them for $400. It works great. They are a small place and the stock (around 20 laptops) does change all the time

Pros: Honesty and no pressure sales people

Cons: A little hard to find

The tech guys at this shop know their stuff and don't charge much to fix your computer. However, they have the rudest and most incompetent sales staff in the city.

If they're talking to you, you're already wasting their time. Rather than a simple "hello", any phone calls are greeted with "COMPUTERS!!!" You will undoubtedly be put on hold 2-3 times, so as to trick another sales person into speaking with you. Without fail, any question you ask will be met with "it changes every day, just come in and we'll let you know what we have." An all-around useless group of people.

Pros: capable and cheap computer repair
Cons: being there in the first place

I made clear that my laptop's HD had been scrubbed -- this was put in writing in a letter read by the clerk in my presence, and the techie that tended to my machine.(The tech called asking for the Password, which was in the note. "I read that twice and didn't see it!")

I was charged for a hardware assessment where no assessment was possible because, you guessed it, there was no OS installed.

Incompetent and/or dishonest -- TO BE AVOIDED!

I brought in a laptop that hasn't worked right since it "absorbed" a surge. It could no longer charge batteries, accept drivers, etc.

With the laptop I included a note that covered what was wrong and what had been done to the unit throughout its life. The clerk read the note and accepted the unit. Later, a tech called for the Password, claiming to have missed the Password in the note, even though he claimed to have read it twice.

Long story short, they accepted a machine they knew was missing an operating system for a diagnostic even though they can't run a diagnostic without an OS! I wonder how true that is. I bet it's about as true as the claim that I since I paid for ME, I was entitled to an upgrade all the way to XP -- I just had to pay them $199 for the installation (you know, hooking up a wire and pressing a button or two.) Worse, I was charged $40 for my trouble and still don't know what the machine's condition is. When I asked how they could charge me for services never rendered I was told that I had taken up their time.

Ever hear of pre-screening, guys?

Further, what time?

Whose problem is that they put in a few minutes to diagnose a unit that they couldn't diagnose?

If my experiences are anything to go by, these guys are either incompetent, dishonest or both. Either way, they're to be avoided as these sort of mistakes, be they honest or convenient, can add up to serious money fast.

I first went to this small ahop for a repair about a year ago and had a screen replaced. Computer geeks had quoted me over $650. The Little Laptop Shop replaced it for $300. It still works great. I have since had 2 more repairs on other laptops done and am really pleased with them. I recommended that my company buy 2 of the laptop shops used systems and we could not be more happy. These guys are very low key. They are a abit of a small shop, but they are well worth the visit. I have to say A++++

This is the 3rd time I had repair work done by The Little Laptop Shop and the 3rd time I walked away saving money and extremely please with the repair. So far they have done 2 virus cleanups for me and a DC Jack repair and a Screen for my company. All A+++++++
On the screen they actually quoted me $299 but got the parts cheaper so they charged me less. I now refer them to everyone

I bought a laptop from them 2 Years ago and it still works fine so I gave that one to my and I just bought an IBM from them. A great deal for the money. They are a little shop but put a lot of time into the laptops that they sell. I go to them for my desktop repair as well. I wish they sold printers I could use a good one

This is an awful little store that sold me a laptop that fell apart two days after warranty. Which just so happened to only be thirty days. Moreover, the service was horrible. Beware! The warranties are inadequate and will be tweaked to squeeze money out of you even if it's the crappy laptop that falls apart. Just by a Dell.

This computer shop provided me with excellent service. I brought my dell inspiron to get fixed because it had a cracked lcd screen. I was given a quote and a time frame. The prices were reasonable for a lcd screen replacement. I received my laptop back on time and it looked brand new. They also gave me some cleaning cloths with that. The place is a little small and crampy, but they make up for it with their service. I would recommend this place.
