Specializing in both Southern & Northern Indian cuisine, Delhi Palace Indian Restaurant, in the heart of Jackson Heights, has delighted appetites with the finest Indian food anywhere around for 30 years! Folky with murals of Indian village scenes, the buffet impressively draws from the entire menu, with a "make your own chaat" bar offering aloo tikki, cucumber-tomato salad, assorted raitas and chutneys, six different curries, as well as tandoori chicken complete with naan & rice. Waiters bring freshly-made mini-dosas to buffet-goers. Among the items on the menu, the butter masala dosa is a lacy, crisp rice-and-lentil flour crepe, filled with mustard seed-spiked potatoes & drizzled with butter, or shrimp vindaloo with a complex, deep flavor. Don?t forget to visit the adjacent Delhi Palace Sweet Shop or have them cater any event?corporate or private! Huge party room also available!
HORRIBLE RESTAURANT

When you enter in this restaurant you see worker getting annoyed by looking at you. When they serve you cold "PAPADS". Plus the waitress there give you attitude out of this world. We told them to give us some nice hot "PAPADS" but no they don't three times they gave us cold one. Then they make you use same spoon that you just used for eating your appetizer. NO respect for customers. I would say to everyone just avoid it. Thanks

This is by far my favorite restaurant. I have been going there for ages now and their cusine is excellent. You can find the best Indian food here with from Mater Panneer, to Naan, to the delicious roasted Papad. A great and courteous staff that will get you what you need food-wise. A night here will surely make you want to come back for more.

lousy food, rude staff, and worst delivery.
by joe41lax
After eating at this restaurant several months ago I promised myself I would never go back. When I ate at the restaurant the staff completely ignored my friends and I for over 20 minutes. While we waited, since I had so much time on my hands, i looked at the utensils and found them dirty, as if someone had just wiped them on their pants from the table before us and left them on the table. After they finally came over to my table to take the order, it took over an hour for the food to arrive. And, when it arrived, the food was bland and tasteless. When they asked me if I wanted it mild, medium or spicy I told them I liked it spicy yet the food came and tasted like someone had just microwaved some leftovers from a week ago.
As for the delivery, the last three times i have had food delivered they have forgotten to give me the chutneys for my samosas. And, I don't know if I should say they forgot since i specifically mentioned that they keep forgetting to give me the chutneys and asked if they could please remember this time yet they still were not delivered. One time they did not even bring the samosas and when i called about it they said they would bring it next time. They refused to even take the charge for the samosas off my bill! And, what food does gets to us tastes like garbage.
Do not eat here, I will not anymore.
Pros: Cheap, takes credit card for delivery
Cons: everything else

The best indian food in jackson heights!
by vladya
Let me begin by saying that i eat almost exclusively indian food :) And more often in Delhi Palace then any other place. Should i even continue....? Ok, a few more things: they have a good and diverse menu of southern and northen cuisine, excellent dosa (go with masala or special rava masala one), excellent tea, great tandoor meat dishes, the best dal ever, amazing veg.beriyani, great sweets, everythi... well one thing they make rather poorly is salt lassie, other lassies are good, but they don't even put cumin in their salt lassie. Ok, so not to end on that low "salt lassie" note, i'd say that their buffet is very often different, which is great obviously :)
Pros: Food
Cons: no cumin in salt lassie

we had read good things about delhi palace so we thought we would give it a try and i had gone to the restaurant with one of my best friend, and we have found it was very best of our experience we had a appetizers like jinga bhagarella (shirimp) and kabab platter, the main course we had lamb chops and murg balchao ( chicken) masala dosa which all was out standing food and the service we found which was excelent. above from this what i would like to say is that about the most appreciation goes to the manager who looks liken very exprience person, who is very propessional and smart if u really do not know what to order you can take the managers suggetions he the person who can make your meal, he really knows how to suggest a familly style meal for the table, the immpresive things is when you enter the restaurant you will see the lovely smile on the managers face which makes you very competable and makes you feel like homely. this was my first expriece in delhi palace and i did enjoyed very much i would definatly love to come back again and again to delhi palace its been a wonderfull exprience

Excellent food, lousy service.
by llanham72
We had read good things online about Delhi Palace so we thought we would give it a try. We were immediately seated when we arrived and the waiter seemed friendly enough. They had a great looking selection of Northern and Southern Indian food. The appetizers came out quickly. Both were really tasty and we were really looking forward to our main courses. It took quite a while (45 mins) to get our main courses, but we figured that good food generally takes a bit more time. Plus, we couldn't seem to get any of the waitstaff's attention. When our main courses came out some of the items were missing. It took several tries before we got our waiter's attention. We got one of the missing items, but in the end we asked for the other missing dish twice and then finally gave up. When it came time to pay the bill we had a heck of a time trying to get a waiter's attention for the check. It seemed at times we were being ignored. In the end I went to the front and asked for our bill. The missing item was still on the bill, but after speaking to the manager he took it off and apologized profusely saying they were shortstaffed. Really enjoyed the food, but the service left us with a bad taste in our mouths. They very well could have been shortstaffed, maybe someday we will give it a second chance - maybe.
Pros: Food
Cons: Service

Don't make a mistake by going here
by childpsy
The service continues to take a nosedive in my over last 5+ experiences. They have insisted on 20% gratuities for even 2 people regardless of their quality of provided service. There is no sign that mentions that gratutities will be added to your bill. This applies to both their lunch buffets and dinners The cutlery was dirty and showed remnants of the last use multiple times. The staff is very unfriendly and definitely not hospitable. Customer service is definitely not their strong point. The quality of the food has continued to worsen over time and was not prepared fresh for that day. I would strongly recommend to consider alternative place/genre of food to eat if you are in the Jackson Heights area.
Pros: Cheap average quality food
Cons: Inhospitable, poor customer service and undisclosed gratuities

Great Atmosphere, Food & Service!
by novagrl
This restaurant is really pleasant and spacious, not to mention that the buffet and sit-down menu offers refreshingly authentic and amazing dishes. The Grill special was an amazing deal and more than plenty for 2! The prices are great and it's a nice place to go for a more upscale Indian dinner in Jackson Heights.

Simply Amazing!
by yaesylv
I've been to so many indian places all over the city and this is simply one of the best places. The food was wonderfully spicy and piquant, the flavors were bold and exactly what you would expect from Indian cuisine. Some of my friends go there weekly and rave about constantly! The portions are a bit large so you can share or go on an empty stomach.

Best Indian Place West of the Ganges
by Really4Rob
My regular Saturday place for over 8+ years! The buffet is to die for, especially when they have aloo gobi and paneer jalfazi. The murg chicken is almost always there, and the nan is the best I've had.
Pros: inexpensive, buffet selection good, great service

Non-Royalty Welcome Here
by Amienyc
The food at Delhi Palace is inconsistent. After five+ visits, we noticed that the service was generally very good. On our last visit, we noticed that the pappadum was greasy and soggy. while the chutneys were good. Food that we requested to be spicy wasn't, whereas the other choices were too spicy. Several dishes were excessively oily. This restaurant serves alcohol, which is a plus with Indian food. Overall the food was fair.
