Before making a decision I shopped around - visiting the multiple furniture showrooms in Victor. Viking wasn't the cheapest option, but they offered the best quality and the staff was professional. Never pushy, nor did they hover over me.

Contemporary style and then some...
Ive been searching for Mid-Century Modern and/or Hollywood Regency designs. I had no idea these could be found at Viking International. Viking's stuff is outstanding in quality - from the fine leather and stitching to frame. These sexy designs are very well built and should last a long time.
The styles I saw in the showroom are alike those in a magazine. While in Viking, you'll feel free to explore as the staff is respectful; they understand shoppers need to experience the showroom without someone breathing down your neck.
I met John, the owner. He was a down to earth guy and very professional. So was Rebecca,

I have been a "lover" on European style furniture for many years and Viking fits our needs completely. I found the store beautiful, and even used the Design Service that they offer.
When you purchase furniture from Europe, you know there is always a wait. Sometimes longer than expected, but always worth the wait!
The staff is always courteous and allows you to "browse" at your leisure with out being "followed".
I have recommended tViking to my friends and they have been satisfied also.
I only buy my furniture at Viking. Why shop online, when you have the real thing nearby.

John Buchheit is the president of Viking International. His self-review below leaves out a few details. FIrst, it's true that he refunded my deposit, But this was only after I managed to discover his personal cellphone number and call him on it. For the preceding six months, VIking's policy had been that they might or might not ever deliver a couch, and that I would become eligible for a deposit refund only EIGHT YEARS after the initial date of sale. Second, Viking repeatedly promised to call back with status updates and never did; they promised to gather information from the manufacturer and never did; etc.

Following my disastrous experience with Viking, I bought a couch at Bayles LeatherHouse, a couple miles down the road. Compared with Viking, Bayles has a better selection, better prices and better service. They carry higher quality furniture (Jaymor and Palliser Horizons, as opposed to the low-rated Natuzzi pieces that Viking pushes. (Several Consumer Report-type websites give Natuzzi the lowest possible durability rating.) Viking took my money, refused to deliver either a couch or a refund for over six months, and relented only when I managed to dig up the president's personal cellphone number and make clear that I'd be calling him there. Bayles, by contrast, promised delivery in 6 to 12 weeks and delivered in 7.

There is no reason to shop at Viking when Bayles is just down the street.

I would like to say the staff at the store are awesome. I feel that Mr.Lanburg's words where very strong and I disagree with his opinion. To call them thiefs is wrong. As that is not how they have stayed in business for over 29 years. My family and I have shopped with them for over 20 years and I do it from Maryland. I will continue to do so and will continue to recommend them to friends and family. They did their best to compensate Mr. Lanburg. I think no matter what they did he would not be happy. I am a very happy customer. Thank you

Later, he indicated this was not good enough and we in fact refunded Mr. Landsburg's deposit. Viking has sent Mr. Landsburg a $200 gift certificate in the hopes he will visit us again.

Viking International has been serving the Rochester community for 29 years and appreciates our loyal customers. We regret the times when customers are not satisfied and do our best to remedy these situations.

Not one of my phone calls has been returned. The sales person I reached a few days ago told me that the order cannot be cancelled under any circumstances, and that it could take them up to *EIGHT YEARS* to fill the order. My only recourse now seems to be to dispute the charge with Visa. Stay far from these people.
