We have taken pottery classes here for the past 3 semesters. We were also regular customers of the painting and mosaic part of the studio. We really enjoyed everything as the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. In fact my wife celebrated her birthday here with friends and we bought all of our Christmas gifts here this year. Not to be immodest, but we've spent a good amount of money at this establishment. Last Sunday for the first time one of the staff made us feel very unwelcome. She enforced a new studio fee policy that the store had put into place since we had last been there to paint. That's understandable of course, businesses need to make changes from time to time, but she did it in such an unpleasant way that we really doubt we want to return. Especially after we learned that this woman was the owner. She made no attempt to explain the policy change and help us understand how it applied to us. Instead she was very short with us, said she would check the computer then left us an ungracious voice mail saying we had to follow the policy or she wouldn't process our pieces. Since we had bought the pieces before the policy went into effect, she could have waived the additional fee or at least have been apologetic about having to collect it. It's not about the extra fee of $16, it's about her attitude. She didn't seem to care if we ever came back or not. While we were there she was the least friendly and least approachable staff member. We helped put the stuff we used away after we were done painting (the staff always does this) and she wasn't able to say thanks. Only, "I will do that" in a not very friendly way. She should let her staff interact with the customers as they are much better at it than she is. We're going to start taking classes at the Mud Pit (Williamsburg) which is actually closer to our place. We had been willing to travel the extra distance because of the rest of the staff. It's a shame because we will miss them.

I took my family to this place. It was our first time so we did not know what to do. They did not help at all. One of the staff member was busy with the camp group. the other staff member was so busy doing mosaics. They did not explain how to paint the pottery. They did not even tells us about the wide variety of stuffs that can be used to paint your pottery. Until' one of the little one looked and told my family. But, at this time we were close to finishing our paint job. i RECOMMEND BETTER STAFF!

This place is GREAT! My daughter and I went there once and we loved it. She's been begging to go back ever since.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. They offer a wide variety of crafts (mosaic, sculpture, painting, etc.). Everything you need is included in the cost of whatever craft you choose to do.
We'll definately be making this a regular fun thing to do for our family. In fact we're on our way there now.

Pros: Great family fun in a nice environment. No noise or crowds.

Cons: A bit of a walk from the train, but not so bad on a nice day.

I love going to this pottery place. I've gone here many times with a boyfriend, then with friends , and now with my husband and best friends in the world. Thanks for creating a place to relax and be creative.

This is the perfect place to pick up a new hobby. Take pot spinning classes or painting classes, even bead work. Classes start in the Fall, Spring, and summer months. Take one class or a series. Great for beginners and those who are returning to it. A little expensive for a full season course, but is good for the winter months.
