we had a karaoke b-day party in the private room for 18 people. the private room is very cute with more than ample space. we looked at a few places before chossing this one and most were very small with undesirable decor, but not here. walking in the front door is impressive from the bar area, restaurant and the private room, it's very different & warm. the service & food were both very good - everyone raved. i would definitely recommend this place for a party -- we had a GREAT time singing, drinking, eating and hanging out!

Pros: private karaoke

Cons: a little pricey

I threw a birthday party for my mother here and it was great. The manager, Chan, helped me plan the menu and gave insightful suggestions. I had some last minute cancellations and was freaking out, but Apple was more than accomodating and put my mind at ease. The private room in the back has a nice ambiance with the extra bonus of karaoke if you so wish. They will help you out with storing your cake, decorating the room, etc. Appetizers were tasty (chicken skewers and tuna sashimi-yum) and drinks were delish! The waiter kept my Stoli Raspberry and sodas coming. My friends all commented how great everything was. One of the guests was a party planner too, so she knows her stuff. Even if you've never made a party before like myself, leave it to the professionals at Apple. You won't be disappointed.

When my friends and I entered Apple Restaurant we entered a temple like space that was at once large and open but also intimate and welcoming. The restaurant consists of three rooms: the bar/lounge area ?? the Bom Bar, the main dining room, and a private room for karaoke parties. The dcor is Asian-inspired as the restaurant serves primarily Vietnamese food, along with Japanese, Latin, Middle Eastern, and Thai-influenced fare. A quiet fountain greets visitors as they walk along the corridor that leads to the main dining area, which is filled with dark wood tables and chairs. The karaoke room, which from the outside resembles a mini recording studio??there are windows that allow diners to look inside??houses couches and a karaoke machine. In the Bom Bar, cushiony soft leather couches and low wooden tables fill half of the area. A round bar with high stools and a few tables, which sit before French doors that open onto the street, completes the space. Throughout the restaurant the lighting is soft, flattering, and easy on the eyes. My friends and I chose a table at the edge of the dining room, near the bar/lounge entryway

A great place to hang out and get a big group together. The food is not great. But it's such a large friendly space with such a great big bar, its shortcomings really don't matter. Near R and 6 trains.

A friend and introduced me to this cool spot during lunch. The lunch specials were reasonable and very tasty. The atmosphere was very relaxing. I almost didn't have enough energy to return to work. Can't wait to try it out after work.

Didn't even notice it was there and I walked right by it so many times. Decided to stop in for drinks after work and stayed to have dinner with friends. Food was great. It was a little quiet at first but soon as it started getting later in the evening - the place was pretty happening. Overall - Had a great time.

My fiance threw a surprise party for me at Apple. We celebrated with 50 closest friends and family members. Apple did an amazing job for us. Our guests raved about the food and the service. The service was impeccable! The manager of the restaurant and his waitstaff took care of every single details to ensure that we have an enjoyable night. Thank you Apple for making the best night of my life so memorable!

Pros: inexpensive, great music, great service

Took friends visiting from out of town to brunch here. The service was awful. It was impossible to get refills on coffee or water, and the waitstaff basically ignored us because there was one other, larger party there. We ended up being an hour late to a baseball game because it was so impossible to get any attention!

I love the music they play there....the Friday DJ is more of an underground overall DJ speacializing in underground and oldschool hiphop. I wish he'd play more R&B, but hey. The Sat. Dj is more of a show-y type, really good too.

After having eaten practically everything on the menu I can honestly affirm this is by far the finest restaurant in all of New York City. It is the finest by the old standards: phenomenal food, kind and attentive staff. My husband and I have been eating there for almost three years. Impart because of the atmosphere, food, price and staff, we have called their kitchen home for not only ourselves but to our family and friends. The menu has delighted all of us, as it is different, healthy, and offers a range of delightful dishes for those wanting to feast on meat or game as well as those favoring sushi or quinoa. Sundays brunch spread is absolutely delicious, offering wheat free pancakes topped with fresh fruit. If you are not hungry for a meal, try their apple or lychee martini in the lounge. I promise you will not be disappointed.

We heard great things about this place...probably went there with very high expectations. We were treated to some undercooked apple pancakes...all food served cold...shivers&chills... it still gives us the creeps.

Very lousy service ..had to sit and wave at the waiters to get their attention...

We just hope it was a VERY BAD DAY for the restaurant and they are usually better. But you can't drag us into this place ever again.

Great papaya salad. Great, decently priced specialty martinis. Great music. Go there for some drinks in their supercomfy couches with lots of friends or for dinner, with small or large groups. Great place. Not overly expensive.

Apple Bombar rules. Its got big comfortable black leather couches and a staff that is friendly and courteous. Its a great place to pre-drink, or end the night. There is no dancing, or anything like that but its a great place to kick back and hang out with friends.

We had a friends B-day here and they were great. The service was excellent and very friendly. We originally planned the b-day at another place but it was packed so we decided to go to Apple Bar. they were able to seat 20 of us easily. They have great hip hop music. I went here a few times later and still the same great service and appetizers. It's kinda hard to get seating at the couches and at the bar, but the backroom always has plenty of seating. This place is one of my favorites!

Everything~ EVERYTHING on their menu is delicious!! The service is pretty fast. It's a really pretty place too. I had my boyfriend's birthday dinner there, and everyone loved it. I took my friends there this past weekend and they loved it too! I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves flavorful and quality foods for a good price.

I found this place here on Citysearch along with a few others as possible places to go on my birthday with friends. What a great choice! The food was excellent and the menu was varied. I was there with two girlfriends-- one a vegetarian, the other a dancer-- everyone got something they loved. The Apple Martinis are marvelous. The Ginger Ice Cream is incredible. But the slow-cooked, almost fat-free Duck was to die for. I went back the next week with a date and had it again. Definitely a new favorite for me...

Since its 1991 opening, acclaimed Pan-Asian eatery Apple Restaurant & Bom Bar continues to gratify New Yorkers with its delightful yet sophisticated restaurant, bar and lounge in Greenwich Village. Today, Apple is a destination restaurant that attracts culinary aficionados, cocktail lovers, local business people and residents searching for a relaxed ambience for Asian dining or a lively atmosphere for a night of cocktails and karaoke.

Chef Chuong wanted to create ??the dining experience of a classic Asian restaurant, while updating it to accommodate the refined tastes of New Yorkers.? Since he is his own supplier, his menus are seasonal and change daily to reflect the freshest produce, meats, fish and herbs. Signature highlights include Buddha Delight for vegetable lovers, Sizzling Vietnamese Rice Crêpe with Shrimp, Chicken, Mushrooms, Onions & Bean Sprouts, and Grilled Lamb Cutlets with Fragrant Fried Rice and Stir-Fried Garden Vegetables, in addition to many vegetarian options. Apple??s true specialty dish is its Signature Broiled Boneless Vietnamese Duck, said to be one of the best in New York City because it is incredibly crispy and juicy but not at all greasy.

For private parties and catered affairs, enter Apple??s Red Den, a private karaoke room where corporate party givers or others can enjoy a vivacious atmosphere with singing, dancing and of course fabulous cocktails and hors d??oeuvres.
