My child has just started. She is not easy to deal with, cries, and I leave in tears. This is her first experience, and the staff has been so sensitive, caring, and understanding. They are not only teaching my baby girl, but I am learning an awful lot. I am sad when I leave, but I trust the teachers and I know now that I am giving my child this special time to learn without me always there.

I just want to start out by saying that The Ark & Dove School at St. Denis church is a fabulous school.. The school is super clean and very well maintained.. The teachers and directors are also fantastic at what they do.. My daughter has Mrs. Kenny and Mrs. Collins and they are WONDERFUL WONDERFUL teachers.. They are patient and kind and teach their students very well.. I couldn't have chosen a better school for my child to attend.. My son will be attending there as soon as he turns 3.. If you are thinking about sending your child to PreSchool and Kindergarten and so forth The Ark & Dove is the place to send your child.. They are very reasonably priced and just an all around GREAT school.. As for Mrs. Kenny and Mrs. Collin, I hope my daughter has teachers as Loving and as Fantastic as these 2 teachers in her years to come.. They are just Great!!Sincerley, A Very Pleased Mommy!

Fantastic school. My kids loved it. My friends brought their kids there and loved it, and I checked it out and loved it too. I have nothing to say that is bad about this place.

All of the teachers at this school are superb. Have you ever looked at preschools, day care centers, and other programs for young kids and noticed the staff turnover? There is a reason for that, you know. They don't get paid well. At the Ark and Dove, those teachers have been there for a long time, and must love what they do, because chances are they can make more money doing other things. The school is clean, bright, inviting, safe, and loving. Parents who think it is not right for their child, should not go there. And people should stop attacking individual staff members on this site. It is hurtful and wrong. Not only are they teachers, but they are people with feelings. And they work their tails off, for your children, I am sure. There is love and dedication there.

I think this school is great for preschoolers. It is a Catholic preschool, so it may seem a bit regimented for some, but it is an excellent early education for kids ages 2- kindergarten. The idea of picking a school such as this one, is that you find faith to be important in a curriculum. The teachers are wonderful with the children all the time, and I have noticed that with parents, if you are polite, friendly and speak to them with the respect, they are very kind ladies and easy to talk to. And if even if you don't... they are still kind and easy to talk to! If you don't want a Catholic program, there are others to choose. But this one, is great!

I'm not quite sure how this place could get so many good reviews. It's awful! The only reason parents send their kids there is to get them into St. Columba, but let me state that you don't have to send your kids there to get them into St. Columba. The enrollment numbers are dropping, so don't believe all the parking lot gossip that you can't get your kids into St. Columba, they'll take you. Also, be forewarned St. Columba isn't much better than The Ark & The Dove. As far as The Ark & The Dove goes I pulled my child out after pre-school. Those woman teaching don't belong around children, ESPECIALLY MRS. KENNY. She's cold, mean and inept. If you're in the Arlington school district send your kids to public school!

Both my children went to Arc and Dove and are now attending St Martin De Porres. My son Sam had Mrs Rieland in 4's and Mrs Greco for Kindergarten- and was taught to read as well as tie his shoes. My daughter Olivia had Mrs Kenny and Mrs S for 3's and 4's, but went to St Martin's for a full day Kindergarten- she still talks of them and misses them- in fact on the first day of K I asked her how it was and her reply,"she isn't Mrs Kenny" and she was sad. Both of them had a wonderful experience with arc and dove and their years there are full of happy CHILDHOOD memories- that is what PreK is.To hear people speak of the staff and school in such a way really makes me hope they have left-that is what corrodes the moral compass of a Catholic education. My 3rd child is going to be two in January and I only hope those same teachers will be there for Jack- in fact- any time I see any of them in the community I always say, "please stay for 3 more years!" One more thing, personally these ladies are all very wonderful moms with families that give back to their communities, and are devoted to their jobs- and attacking them is awful. Teachers are there to teach parents are there to parent the towo are different but want the same goal, and I think many of the upset parents on this site have confused the two. The fact is sometimes we aren't going to like everything a teacher, coach or boss says about our kids, but to tear that person down instead of building up your child is a waste of energy, poor parenting and only hurts kids in the end. And again, why would you keep your child where you and them are so unhappy that is very irresponsible as a parent. As you can tell I am very partial to the Arc and Dove and would recommend it - The staff cares about the children and above all they KNOW your child. Prayerfully, Jen, Sam and Olivia Scarpati

I think this school is safe, clean, loving, educational, and religious. God is a priority here, and the teachings of Christ are important. Some people pick this school because it is convenient to their home, or because they want a good preschool and kindergarten for their child. But, many forget that this is a Catholic school, and they should be picking this program because they want their child to be exposed to this religion. I would say that the teacher's expectations are appropriate for young children, and that the children are loved here.

This school is super. My family has had nothing but a positive experience, and we find the teachers to be great. We wanted a catholic program for our children, and we found that this school gave our children a great start.

I like this school. I think the teaching staff is great. They know what they are doing. It is a Catholic Preschool with a Kindergarten on site too. It is a very big school, with lots of classrooms, and lots of children. The children are loved, and taught many wonderful lessons about life, God, Jesus, and are guided towards school readiness.

I gave this school 5 stars because it deserves it. It is a good place for children to be, and a great program. From what I understand, it is still great, even though our children no longer attend. My only complaint is that because this school is private, they do not have to take children with severe allergies. They do not have to be peanut-free if they choose not to be , and they do not have to be trained in epi-pen use if the Director chooses not to do it. It is a private preschool and kindergarten, and not under the same regulations as a public school. So, in my situation, when Mrs. Hamilton was Director, she was trained in epi-pen usage, and had no problem with having children in the program with severe allergies. But when Mrs. Hamilton resigned (she moved away, God Bless her), the new Director decided that she did not want to have the responsibilty or the liability to use epi-pens any more. Which she had every right to do. There is nothing wrong with her making that choice, it just blocked us from allowing our second child from attending a school we had grown to love so much. It is a great school, and we loved it there

This school is very good. The teachers are professional. The Director is doing her job well, and the children at this school are getting alot for what we parents are paying. I was told to look at the reviews here by another parent, and was compelled to pipe in.

Like others have said here, if you feel that this school is so bad, the fact that you continue to send your child there, is like a form of child abuse. If you are sending your child to be abused, scared, not taught anything, yelled at, and demeaned, just to get into another catholic school, you should have your child taken away from you.

As a Mom who has put not 1, not 2, not 3, but FIVE children through this school over the years, I can tell anyone who comes to this site, that this is a wonderful program for young ones, and that anyone interested should take the time to make an appointment to see the school themselves. This website is nice, but the ark and dove has been open a very long time, and they have probably thousands of students that have attended over time. The amount of reviews here, is like a drop in the bucket.

Everyone needs to make their own decisions. The only way to do that, is to go there and ask alot of questions. If a school turns out to be not good for your child, or for you, it does not mean it is a BAD SCHOOL. Bad schools do not stay open long, and bad schools do not have enrollment like this school does.

My child goes to this school. She is having a good time, is learning alot, and the teachers are very patient and understanding. They have to deal with alot. They have some very crazy parents there, that are too attached to their kids. Going to preschool is a big step. It is important for a child to do it. And you have to trust the teachers. If you don't, then why would you send your child there? I would never send my child to a place where I felt the staff was incompetent. Some reviewers have stated this, and I can't believe it. If you feel that way, why would you jeopardize your child in such a horrible place? It does not make sense, and it shows that the negative reviews are without merit. We love this school. It is a safe place, a good place, and a christian place.

The program is wonderful. It is clean, safe, gorgeous, bright, airy, and made for young children. It is really worth it to call and see the place. They have a security system in place too, which is super. Alot of other church preschools have all kinds of people walking in and out all day, and here, only school personnel can get in, by punching a door code. It is amazing, when you see what your child will get in comparison to other places. There are field trips, picnics, productions that the children take part in, graduation ceremonies, and holiday parties. It also has a very safe, fenced in, playground. The staff is delightful. I have had several children attend this school, as well as nieces and nephews. I have nothing bad to say.

There is 1 thing I would like to address. This school is not the only way to get into St. Columba School, as some people have said on here. St. Columba's school website mentions this fact too. Your child can attend any local preschool or kindergarten out there, and get into St. Columba if: they have space, if you are a parishioner of one of the 3 local parishes, and if you have record of attending church at one of the 3 parishes (through collection envelopes) . This has been a known fact for a very long time. One of my kids went to public kindergarten and then to St. Columba.

My daughter attended this school when it first opened and i had my other daughter in it a few years after. And might i say they have excellent staff. My nieces have both gone through this school, both having Mrs. Kenny, and they loved the school and Mrs. Kenny. She is very generous and caring to each individual child. Now we all know our children can behave badly but I feel that Mrs. Kenny is there to show them what they are doing wrong with great compassion and love. Now I am more than happy to talk to these people who talk bad about this especially Harry P because you must be one of the most spineless cretin I've ever heard speak so I'd love to chat with you especially, unless your to afraid. My number is 845 489 1548.

If you:
1) want to be stroked as a parent
2) want your child to be the only one attended to in the whole class
3) want everything done for your child
4) believe every word your child says & don't ask the teacher
5) enjoying complaining year to year about how bad a school is, but continue to send your child there.
6) Believe rules are in place for everyone but your child

This is not the school for you.

hey harry P. didn't you have problems last year about this time at the ark & dove? why is your he/she still there? i know the school.
the kindergarten buses don't even arrive until 8:30! do you love the place so much you get there early? ("8am playing outside in 15 degrees") yes, mid way through a kindergarten year, your 6 year old should know how to get dressed by him/her self. stop complaining & start working with he/she on simple tasks that he/she should have mastered last year - at home!

The administration and teachers at The Ark and The Dove provide a warm and nurturing learning environment for the children entrusted to their care. Are they perfect? No, they are no more perfect than the rest of we mortals. Do we demand more from them than we expect from ourselves? Sometimes we do. Believe me I understand the frustration of a parent who cannot ,in spite of every effort, solve a problem arising with a child in school. I transferred my daughter from a local Catholic school twenty five years ago! It was, and is an excellent academic school. But, it was not for my daughter. My son attended St Aloyisuis but chose not to send his children there. Again an excellent school but he felt The Ark and The Dove was better for his children. His son is registered for the first grade in the same school I transferred my daughter out of so long ago! One size does not fit all! Different strokes for different folks! No institute or person is above criticism. However, vindictive criticism achieves nothing. In fact to some degree, it tends to invalidate what is otherwise a valid complaint. We parents are our childrens first, and hopefully, best teachers. Support your child's teachers and support your child on the path of learning. Education in not just about A BC's. Stand up for you child in a fair and balanced way when the necessity arises but be fair. In conclusion, I am very grateful to Mrs Smith, Mrs Colucci, Mrs Service, Mrs Greco, Mrs Kenny and Mrs Rieland for making school happy and productive for my grandchildren. My only regret is that the Bridge Program was discontinued. It was a very valuable resource for the community

My son was with Mrs Colucci in the 3 year old, 4 year old program and the Bridge program. Mrs Colucci & Mrs Service are fantastic teachers and wonderful with the children. Yes, they took no nonsense but who wants a teacher who will let the children run rampant? Schools have rules for a reason.

My daughter had Mrs Rieland last year in the 3 year old program. Again, a wonderful experience. This year she has Mrs Kenny, and let me tell you she is great. I could not say enough good things about Mrs Kenny. My daughter loves going to school and thinks Mrs Kenny is the best. There seems to be a bit of a witch hunt going on. Maybe it is because Mrs Kenny didn't let your child misbehave and disrupt the other children? I expect my children to be well behaved at school and their teachers have the right to reprimand them if need be. Mrs Kenny is a caring, kind, thoughtful person and has been a fantastic teacher for my daughter. It is a horrible thing that people will be so vindictive and mean when it is quite obvious the shortcomings are on their end and they are trying to throw the blame elsewhere.

My son is in Kindergarten with Mrs Greco. I think he is in an excellent learning environment. Why would it bother you that the children have to learn to fasten their coats? And as for playing outside when they come into school, just what is the problem? Obviously playing first thing when they are all ready to go is good time management.

I have been a parent at this school for both directors and found them excellent. It is a difficult job (all those parents... I wouldn't wish that job on my worst enemy!) and they both perform it well. Mrs Hamilton was very no nonsense and efficient and that is exactly what she needed to be. Mrs Smith is also doing a wonderful job. The smooth running of the school is proof enough.

I am quite disgusted reading these bitter, vindictive comments on here. I whole heartedly recommend this school. We have had wonderful experiences there. If anybody wants more information feel free to contact me @ 592 1011. If you want to be so nasty, at least have the guts to not do it anonymously. And perhaps take a good look at your child's behavior.

I think this school is fantastic. I loved the former principal when she was there. The children were always first. I also like all of the preschool teachers, and I enjoy the new principal too. She is open to parent involvement.

Mrs Greco asks the children to learn to tie and button coats? Good for her! They have to know how to do that before first grade. If you think a 1st grade teacher has time to do 25-30 coats, you are crazy. Mrs. Greco does not have that time either. I know she is not a yeller, but does have a loud voice. She is always loud. It is just her. If you are concerned you should ask to watch the class, or volunteer. Children leave that class ready for first grade. Ask the first grade teachers St. Columba what they think.

St. Aloysuis is a totally different school. I know people who pulled kids out of there. They do not allow parents in there ever, the doors are locked, and you cannot even visit the school until after hours. They use fear and threats to teach discipline. These are strict nuns. Kids may come out of there learning something, but at what cost? You think Mrs. Greco yells? Send your kid there.

If you do not want to pay 225.00 tuition, and you don't like the school, go to public school. The area has very good public schools, and they are free. Ark and Dove is an excellent catholic school.

My child currently attends Ark and Dove Kindergarten. The teacher, Mrs. Greco yells at the children constantly and tells them that they have to learn to tie their own shoes and button up their own coats. She insists on taking the children out at 8:00 a.m. in 15 degree weather as opposed to 11:00 am because it is too inconvenient for her to put on their coats and hats. She'd rather take them out when they arrive at school dressed already for outdoor play. As for her spelling and grammar, there is a lot to be desired. She writes notes home in her own sloppy handwriting, crosses out and misspells every other word. My child hates going to school. He/she is getting absolutely nothing out of this so called learning experience. He/she has no desire to write or read because their is no encouragement in the classroom. It has been a long while since she has had them read and, she doesn't allow him/her to participate when his/her had is raised etc. I am doing my very best as a parent to encourage him/her to like school, but it is just not working.I would consider taking him/her out of this school, however, I do not want to discourage him/her anymore than he/she has already been. The idea of giving them another free month's tuition makes me sick. When Mrs. Greco decides that she needs a day off, a mother of one of the other children in the class, sits in. She does not have a teaching doctorate, and just reads books to the class for the day. How would you like to pay $225.00 per month and have someone's mom from your class read a book to your child? This becomes another day without learning. As for Mrs. Smith, the principal, she is a waste. She needs to step up to the plate more. If you call the school with a problem, she can't handle it. When Mrs. Hamilton, the principal who used to be in charge, was there, the school programs were all a lot more organized and my other child loved attending both preschool as well as kindergarten. He/she came away with a lot more educationally, as well as a true love of learning. His/her day was a lot more organized and she was reading fully by Chrismas of that year.If you are thinking that I'm complaining too much, try it for yourself. What a waste of money and valuable learning time it will be for yourself, as well as your child. If you are thinking of sending them somewhere else, consider St. Aloysius (Not sure of spelling). Heard it's great!

I enjoyed the entire staff at the Ark and Dove with the exception of the Bridge Teacher, who was a bit over demanding and full of herself and needed to be more low key with young children.
The director (former) was great. I am not there any more to speak of the new one. I had a huge circle of friends/parents, and we all thought the director and the staff were fantastic. There were 2 groups of parents there. One group that "got it" and one group that was as needy as their children. The ones that did not "get it" had problems. The ones that understood the program's direction, had a completely positive experience. For someone to not like a school and send 4 children there? What the heck is that person's problem?

I must say, the long winded crap written by both the 'former principal", and the "past parent" are really very entertaining. I think Jay Leno would enjoy your propaganda. First, lets respond to the "former principal". I think it speaks for itself that she is the 'former" principal. I sent my 4 children to Ark & the Dove during Hamilton's rein, and let me start by saying that this woman has no class and has a terrible attitude towards the parents and kids. The only time she came to life was when the tuition was due. You may say that I'm just a dis-grunted parent, but out of all the parents I met during my kids time at this school, I can honestly say that over 90% felt the same way I did. The only reason we went to this pre-school, was that we were told that was the only way to get your child into St. Columba. I remember times when Ms.Hamilton would berate parents in front of the other kids and parents, just because the poor parent parked in the wrong spot. Way to go "former principal". I realize that there are kids from all different backgrounds, but these teachers are suppose to make the children feel welcomed and special, and teach them how to act away from their parents. Not intimdate them, and make them feel worthless. I have had all the pre-school teachers with my kids, and the only one that deserves any praise is Mrs. Ryland. This woman gets what it means to be a pre-school teacher. She is understanding and works very well with not only the children, but the parents. And for your Ms. Past Parent, don't think people are lazy and have nothing better to do, because they voice their opinion about a school or teacher. Ms. Past Parent over here thinks that we have nothing better to do. Well I guess she found the time to voice her 2 cents. As mentioned earlier, I sent all my children to Ark & the Dove, and Mrs. Kenney was by far the WORST TEACHER THEY EVER HAD!!!!!! LET ME REPEAT THAT, SHE WAS THE WORST TEACHER THEY EVER HAD!!!! I would try to speak with her after class, and she just didn't want to be bothered, and if she did find the time, you could tell she wasn't interested in what you had to say. I then went to ms. Hamilton, and she would always snap back with her vulgar attitude. I often wondered how this administration was able to stay in place and run a pre-school? They would answer my question, on why the kindergarten classes were small. First impressions are lasting ones, and the impression that Ms. Hamilton and her staff displayed to us first timers was pathetic. Just remember, there is good and bad in every profession, and this school has more bad than good. The other reason why I continued to send my children to this school, was because Mrs. Creco was a wonderful teacher and person. I just admired this woman on how she taught and her way with the parents. I don't know the new principal, but I can't imagine that she is anyway as bad as Ms. Hamilton. At least the school made one good decision.Sincerely,Janet M.

I am the former administrator of The Ark and Dove. I was there for 4 years, and prior to that, worked in early childhood for 12 years. I have relocated to another State, which is why I left the school. Other reviewers have commented that there is a "reason" why I am the "former" director. Yes, there is! I moved. The Pastor of the Church and I had a great working relationship, as well as a mutual respect. I came across this review website, and wanted to respond to a few items. First of all, the preschool has been running with an exceptional staff since it opened in 1998. The program has an excellent reputation. We had a class of 26 kindergarteners in our program last year, and over 100 preschool students. Mrs. Kenny has been at the preschool since the school opened. Over time, she (as well as the rest of the staff) has had literally hundreds of students. So, if 1 or 2 people out of hundreds have a negative comment, that speaks for itself. The Ark and Dove Staff is warm, nurturing, kind, and yes, they are very educational. The idea is, that children are going to preschool to leave parents, gain some basic independence, and learn a few skills for school readiness. This includes self help skills such as getting on a coat independently, and washing one's hands after using the bathroom. This is only a small part of the program, but it is an integral part of an early childhood curriculum. Not all children are ready for preschool. Additionally not all parents are ready to give their child the independence of preschool. There is nothing wrong with that. With all of that said, this is definitely a Catholic preschool. Parents know this fact when they register, and they are aware that it is a bit more structured, not only in education, but in teaching the beginnings of Catholicism. The children play, paint, draw, glue, sing, use playdough, plant flowers, take walks, run on the playground, have snack, and begin to learn alittle bit about ABCs and 123s too. They learn about respect, manners, the rights of others, and about sharing. They learn about God, Creation, Noah's Ark and that Jesus was born on Christmas. They also learn that He died for us. They say prayers daily. The expectations at The Ark and Dove are age appropriate, and the children are respected individually. However, parents must be aware that their child, is part of a larger group in a preschool, and the teacher must think of the entire group's needs. If you aren't pleased, it can be chalked up to an experience that either does not meet your family's needs, or it was a situation that was most likely under-researched. Believe me, if a staff member was inappropriate, or if a staff member was not fit to work with children, she would not be at the Ark and Dove, and she definitely would not be there for almost 10 years . Not only would the program administration not stand for it, but the Pastor and the Church would not stand for it. Parents cannot go by recommendations or reviews alone. Every child is different and not every preschool is going to meet the expectations of everyone. Not every teacher is going to click with every child. But these postings seem more like a personal attack against a particular classroom that has run like a well oiled machine for almost 10 years. Mrs. Kenny and her Assistant are wonderful early childhood professionals. Until you are in a classroom with 10-16 little ones all in need of your attention, do not judge. Inform yourself and ask questions. Speak to the teacher, speak to the administration. Be very aware that your preschooler is only 1 child with you at home. Your preschooler at school, is one of many children, and behavior can be different than at home. Also, be on time at arrival, as well as dismissal. The children need the teacher's attention at the start of class, and when you come late, it is disrespectful to the class. At dismissal, the teachers need the respect of a well deserved break, they need to prepare for the next class in between sessions, and they have families to get home to at the end of the day, Please read the important information given to you by the teachers and administration. Pay on time. This is a business, and your tuition covers operating expenses. Be safe, do not leave your baby unattended in the car, drive away with no car seat, or park blocking a school bus. This puts the staff in awkward positions. We are mandated reporters for child safety/abuse. Bottom line is, that parents who stay on top of things, and understand the school's needs and goals for the children, usually have an overall better experience with their child. The National Association for The Education of Young Children is a valuable resource, when looking for preschools. I am writing this because as a past parent at the Ark and Dove I was very disturbed with the information which is being sent out to the public. In response to the recent postings by some Parents of Students at the Ark and Dove Preschool. First I'd like to say, as a parent, if the situation was as bad as these parents say, and my child cried and hated going to school, and, if I were unhappy with the Teacher or Administration, as they wrote, I would pull my child out of that school without hesitation. I would NOT post it on some web page to make a point and try to stick it to the school. You see my first priority would be my child! Obviously, these people have nothing better to do, they should be teaching their kids manners and not be denying any shortcomings their child may have. Then again, some people love to complain and out of laziness or location convenience don't take action, even though it's for their child. We all want to believe that our children are the best, most polite and loving little angels, unfortunately, it's not that way. These parents are not looking at the whole picture. First of all, a Teacher is not there solely for your child, or to stroke the Parent, they have to think about the wellbeing of all the children in the class. They can and do nurture, especially at the Ark and especially Mrs. Kenny and her Assistant. How much time do you expect them to spend on your particular child? They have other children to think about. To bash two people like that is so morally wrong, especially when it's unfounded. Nice Christian Women! Children should know at the very least how to put on their jackets, yes, this is an everyday basic ability which the kids should know and we as parents are their first Teachers. If you keep doing everything for your child they will not learn on their own, and when they are in elementary school, there will not be anyone there to show them how it's done, they'll walk out of the school holding their jacket because the Teacher won't have time to dress 25 kids. Obviousely this is only one example, but is this really the type of things parents are dwelling on. And, going so far as to post it on a web page!!! Unbelievable...Teachers can do so much in the limited time they spend with your children. The rest is up to us, and if our kids can't cut it, then the Parent is a failure. As for paying for the service, all schools are businesses. To the Parentwho left and went down the street, I believe they also charge a fee!? These are choices we make as parents, we cannot expect to be treated any differently because we pay for placing our children in a program, which are optional. Teachers can do so much in the limited time they have with their students. Some of my child's best memories, experiences and friendships came from the Ark and Dove Preschool. All of the Teachers, Assistants and staff are welcoming, happy and helpful! Mrs.Kenny and her Assistant are great people and give there all to each student in their class, I never saw either of them or the other Teachers and Assistants be cruel or abusive to any of the children. I remember always being given very detailed information about what's coming up at the school, events, dates, etc. Or for our particulare class any special celebrations. If parents are not keeping track of mailings or notices, it's not the school's fault, it's our job to keep on top of what's going. As for arriving late, it's disrupting to the other children, this is our responsibility to get the children their in time. Emergencies happen, but not every day! Those comments were rude and untruthful, and if it is that bad, then be adult enough to confront the situation, but remember, be truthful and have an open mind about what you may here about your child. The Ark and Dove has always been a very trusting and safe place for children and with the staff there, I have no doubt that it will continue to be a GREAT PLACE FOR ALL CHILDREN!That said Parents, if it's that bad, Get Out!

I am writing to support the parent that wrote the review about Mrs. Kenney. My daughter has Mrs. Kenney as well and I agree with everything this parent wrote. This woman is very dis-respectful not only to the children, but to the parents. I pay tuition to attend this program, and I have to tolerate this woman's attitude? I have spoke with Mrs. Smith, who is the principal, and she seems intimidated by Mrs. Kenney. My little girl is so scared of Mrs. Kenney and her assistant, that she cry's everytime I have to drop her off. I was planning on attending the kindergarden program, but have opted to go the public school route just because of Mrs. Kenney, so you can thank her for one less tuition check each month. I wouldn't recommend this school at all, and strongly suggest the powers in charge consider removing Mrs. Kenney and her assistant. My friend sent her son to pre-school last year and had Mrs. Ryland, and she couldn't stop raving about how much her son loved the school and his teacher. I guess I got short changed this year.

My child is currently attending preschool at Ark and Dove and his/her teacher, Mrs. Kenny is downright nasty, and is not compassionate towards the children and parents. This teacher has been with the Ark for some time now and every question asked has a nasty answer. My child is petrified of her and refuses to talk about it when he/she arrives home. She should not be working there amongst preschoolers who need nurturing since it is their first experience in a school atmosphere. I surely will not recommend this school to anyone and would not consider my child for kindergarten here (even though I heard great things about the kindergarten teacher). Just a few more words, this issue has been brought to the attention of the New principal, and has not been addressed. Many of us, as parents, have been discussing our problem with the attitude of this teacher and her assistant and agree that Ark and Dove is not the place for our little ones next year.As for the environment of the classroom, children do not do much, get reprimanded consistently about not being able to close their coats, open their own juice, put on their hats etc. I thought children learn from example, and what an example she is setting with her attitude.Skip this school, there are a lot of other more caring, nurturing ones in the area.Very unhappy parent.

I have had my children attend this preschool and found it to be very demanding on the children to do things the way they want. It's like getting a drill SGT for the little ones. They seem to care a great deal about the money and do not give you the greatest feed back on your childs progress. Please don't ever be at least 5 minutes late as they will make you feel like a bad parent. They do have some loving teachers but it is few and far between. I have taken my other child out and she is doing amazing at a more nurturing school down the road.

PROS: Good for classroom edicate
CONS: Not a very caring school
