I will never buy from Shoeparlor.com again and here??s my story why. Please read the whole thing because I feel there??s no way to get the full effect without the details.
I bought a pair of shoes from their website using a promotional offer to save 20%. The shoes came in a reasonable amount of time (about 5 business days), however, they were the wrong shoes. Upon calling the company I spoke to a woman, the manager, and told her the problem. She did not apologize but told me that she would send me an email containing the free return shipping label, and to call her back when I received it but would not say why I needed to call her back. I asked her politely what she could do for me to fix the inconvenience and she stated very abruptly that I already received a discount, so basically what more did I want? I tried to explain that this discount I received was given to everyone who purchased on the website at that time and that I should be given something else since service should be no different whether you pay the full price or promotional price. She offered to express ship the correct shoes instead and that was all, no extra discount applied.
After I received the label, I called back to the office as instructed (after having to wait 3 days for the holiday weekend) and the same manager told me that the correct shoes were now backordered for another week. Again, she offered no apology and just said it matter of fact. The manager admitted that they probably gave my correct shoes to someone else during the time that I had first purchased my shoes. I, of course was upset because not only did I have to call the company twice, but had to arrange the return of the incorrect shoes and then wait for another week for the correct shoes to be shipped out. I felt, again, that I deserved some compensation for the inconvenience, and again without offering any apology she stated abruptly that I had already received a promotional offer and did not offer any extra incentive. When I pressed the issue, she stated she would give me 10% off and I told her I wanted the shoes to be express shipped as soon as they arrived. After saying ??okay I will take care of it?, she hung up on me. Not a ??thank you for your business? or even a plain ??goodbye?. So once again, I called back, but this time angry. Do I even have to say that the customer service at this company is terrible!?! There were absolutely no manners shown to me throughout the experience, especially from the person who is supposed to be the manager and the ??corrector of problems?. All she did was create more for herself. Her tone of voice and manner was abrupt and rude from the very first time I spoke with her and she never once appeared to be sympathetic or apologetic. What a difference from say a company like zappos! After giving her a piece of my mind I assured her I would NEVER buy from her company?and I hope you all learn from my mistake. I have yet to receive the correct shoes, I just hope I never have to speak to that woman again. There is no reasoning with an unreasonable person!

Limping back from Central Park with a hip problem, I stopped in Shoe Parlor and found a pair of El Naturalista that I lived in for the rest of my trip. I loved them so much I went back in a few days to get another pair. Kind of a funky place, but great shoes.

I found many Israeli made shoes, reef flip-flops and surprisingly Earth brand. It's a very old fashioned run shoe store with very helpful / fun staff. It is a little bit hidden behind the next store's awning. Price point is regular retail.

PROS: lots of euro brands
CONS: hard to find on the street
