I?ve been looking for a beauty salon with high quality service and moderate pricing for years since I moved to NYC 12 years ago. After many tries finally I discovered At Salon and Beyond when it opened about 6 years ago. I?ve been using its services for more than 5 years now and I am very loyal to the awesome team who works there and it will be unfair to mention any name because I could forget one and all of them are nice professional and customer service oriented, starting from the receptionist, assistants, hairdressers, colorists, manicurist, and esthetician all are nice and act very professionally with excellent attitude. The owner is very active in managing his business and you will find him around most of the time following with each concept and details if you will notice, he asked me to write a review about his salon if my time allow because he understand how it is sometime inconvenient for many people to find extra time even to check their emails but because he is so nice and polite I had to find the time to write this review. And I think he does this with most of his clients may be all of them and that is show how keen he is in promoting and keeping his business on the top of excellence and proficiency compare to a lot of other beauty salons.
I am happy with the services and the prices and I always feel good when I am at the salon with their professional service and excellent customer service besides their unbelievable hospitality in offering food, snacks, desserts, drinks and more.
This place is better than a lot of other places I tried and I hope that they will be rewarded for their ultimate services by attracting more and more clients and improve their success in this bad economy. Good luck everybody. Regards

I have been a client in At Salon for more than 4 years and the services and customers service are very impressing, every body is so nice I saw a lot of people working there within the years and I didn't find one you can tell that he or she is not nice and professional.
I should write about the salon long time ago but because everybody is busy and no time to have a minute to do anything till the owner ask me to write something about the salon if I am happy with the service and I promised him I will do. I had tried most of the services at the salon from hair cut, color, skincare, facial, waxing to makeup and massage even the Japanese Straightening I tried and with full confidence I am saying that they were outstanding and fantastic services I enjoyed all of them and the team over there is very skillful and extra professional. So good luck to them and hopefully they stay like that and good luck for you in trying their services and enjoy what I enjoyed. Thanks

I had my color and haircut done at At Salon & Beyond and I am really happy with the result I got. The colorist and stylist did listen to me and what I wanted and they consulted me with what they can do and what will look better and I left very happy and my hair wasn't in better look like this before. I do appreciate their work and I can say that they are true artists in what they are doing and the salon is a very cute, cozy and professional place to be in and feel that you are at your home. I recommend them to every body try them and check by your self.

I love this salon! It's close to where I live and the service is second to none! Lilliana is a wonderful stylist and colorist and the receptionist Maya is so friendly and courteous! I felt like I got the star treatment! Also, the chocolate baklava is to die for! I have tried a few salons in NY and this is by far the best! Lilliana listens to her clients to try and give them exactly what they want. Also, Sam is a wonderful owner and puts his customers first. Also, they don't overcharge you. The prices are very reasonable and 20% off your first visit is a plus! I highly recommend this salon and will definitely be back!

I accidently ran into "At Salon & Beyond" 2 years ago when I was looking for places that specialized in Japanese Hair Straightening. I decided to give this place a shot and I've never once looked back.

The owner is a fantastic fantastic man - very professional, friendly and always striving for customer satisfaction. The staff is highly talented and excel in their art.

My favorite of all is Luda (hopefully, I'm spelling your name right!) who is the coolest lady I've met. She is the go-to person for hair straightening and hair coloring. She can give Ken Paves (Jessica Simpson's hair stylist) a run for his money, no exaggeration!

Then there is Viniera and Natasha - the go-to ladies for haircut. They have mastered their art perfectly and never cease to amaze me and my hair!

The great services combined with East European hospitality adds an eadditional flavor to the salon. And not to forget the yummy desserts!

I would highly recommend this salon to everyone - its definitely worth every penny!

I have been a client at At Salon for almost four years and have referred may friends there.
Sam bakes up yummy treats, and all the staff make the effort to make sure you are happy
with your experience. Luda's highlights are consistently perfect, and the head massages
are the highlight of my month! If you're looking for a down-to-earth, friendly salon that won't
bankrupt you, you found it!

When the "girl" who used to "do" me at a downtown salon left without saying where she was going, I had to find a new place. I had recently moved to the Upper West Side, had no clue where to go, and chose At Salon, based on the rave reviews here on Citysearch. I did have reservations, though, thinking, okay, there's no way it can live up to the hype, but at the very least, I'll snag a free pastry/cookie/cake from the room in the back, which was purported to be a perk. *

I'm always anxious when trying a new place, even when it's touted as being "friendly". Upon entering, however, I was greeted by everyone within, and all anxiety went the way of the dodo. (The old receptionist has since left. Maya, the receptionist now, couldn't be a better or more gorgeous "first face" if she tried.) *

Edyta, the manicurist/pedicurist, although as stunning as a model, is as modest and down-to-earth as your favorite school teacher. And the actual manicure and pedicure? Absolute perfection. She made my nails look like shiny, flawless candies -- but too delicious-looking to chew. She did not rush the process, and she also didn't waste any time, so every minute I spent in her care was extremely well spent. (Edyta has since stopped doing pedicures, but my feet are now in the exceedingly capable and just as attentive hands of Alexandra, a relative newcomer.) *

Edyta's hair always looks smashing, so I was thrilled to learn that her stylist is Liliana at the same salon, and soon I trusted my hair to her hands. This is not a feat easily accomplished. However, I cannot rave enough about how much I love what she does to my hair. I love it so much, in fact, that I even entrusted my boyfriend's hair to her hands, and now he is hooked too. *

I have NEVER seen anyone leave At Salon looking less than overjoyed with the wonders the staff has worked on them. *

P.S. Oh, and the sweets in the back? DIVINE. The baklava, made by Sam, the owner, is the best I ever had.

I moved to the upper west side from Chicago. I went on Citysearch to make my decision as to where to get my hair cut and colored. The comments on this site were accurate. I received amazing service a great haircut and color. My friend from Chicago came to visit and said my highlights were the best she's ever seen. I would highly recommend this friendly, salon with reasonable rates along with a precision cut and color. You won't be disappointed in your experience at this salon. They also offer a discount on your first visit.

There are so many positive reviews about At Salon, but I can't stop myself from posting one here too. It's the best salon I've ever been to. Once you're there, you'll like everything about it - the interior design, incredibly friendly atmosphere, highly professional staff, great beauty products, free internet while you wait, even the home-made cookies!
I keep coming back to this salon even after I moved to Philadelphia. Out of the services the salon offers, I usually come here for the haircut, blow-dry, hair-coloring, manicure and pedicure (and not to forget to mention amazing scalp massage during the hair wash). I also buy all of my hair care products here. What more can I say? My husband LOVES my new short hair style, even though he didn't even want to hear about me getting rid of my long hair! =)

I am originally from France coming to New York each 2 weeks for business and stay for a week, it was difficult for me to find a nice place to get my beauty services done in New York City, I tried a lot of beauty salons all over the city out of CitySearch reviews and finally I found what I am looking for the best service and the convenient price besides the French boutique atmosphere which I always miss when I am out of Paris. I tried them many time in many different services and I can say it is a very professional nice cute place to have you beauty service done. It is outstanding beauty salon, outstanding service, outstanding customer service and hospitality. The most importing thing that I felt like I am in Paris atmosphere and I did not miss my country. I've been coloring my hair for years (single + highlights) and there is no better feeling than when you find a perfect colorist. I've been to MIngle a few times and have NEVER been disappointed. My gal is Sheila. You'll get exactly the color you desire from a smart, caring, sweet colorist. The entire salon and staff is just lovely.

I created an account here on City Search because I had to write about how great this salon is! So far I've been there about 3 times, and I have no complaints. I live on the Upper West Side and go to school in Chelsea, and I've tried every upscale salon I could find an appointment for -- then one day I walked in and wondered if anyone could do my hair. Half an hour later (every other salon takes 45+ min), my long, curly hair was straight without the use of a flat iron, and I felt so good about myself that I literally walked for hours around the city. I felt like going back home would be doing a disservice to how well Venera did my hair! So far I've also seen Natasha, and they've both done great jobs. The staff there is so friendly, and the prices are a miracle compared to what else I've paid. ($47 for long hair blowout)

After I had been going for facial and wax service in J. Scott Salon for long time, they stopped having these services last week, so I had to find out any other good place in the area and through citysearch I found At Salon. I was there few days ago after having an appointment for facial and wax. The place was very clean, nice waiting area, coffee, tea, water, soda and a lot of snacks and pastries available with very nice staff treat you with personal attention and hospitality. The appointment started on time I was a little early, the treatment room was very private and the esthetician was well knowledgeable with her stuff, she started with the facial French Company Protocol and products and then again she did my wax service and for the first time in my life I did not feel even any little pain as usual in waxing procedure, I think the wax quality which is French made also or the oil and lotion used on the skin before and after wax. I enjoyed the service, I got what I need and I think I found my new cozy place around the corner, I am very happy and I do recommend this salon for all of you. I forget to tell you they offer 20% off on the first time and their prices are very moderate. Thanks

I went there and it was the best color and haircut I?ve had in years.
I had a lot of compliments for the first time ever about my hair from family and friends.
The salon is well organized, the staff is very friendly and the price is convenient.

After I read most of the reviews about some beauty salons around me in Citysearch and other similar website like Spagirl to find out about the permanent Japanese straightening and after I contacted many salons I decided to go with At Salon & Beyond they asked me first to come for a complemantary consultation before anything, I went for one and the stylist checking and rechecking my hair in a meticulous manner and then she told me about all the procedure which I never did it before , about the time need it and the price which was convenient for a beauty salon in the upper west side with a 20% off for first time client and special 5% off extra for the Japanese straightening so I had a good bargain and I made an appointment the permanent Japanese hair-straightening which also called Bio.Ionic System.
During my treatment the staff repeatedly offered me coffee, tea and fresh-baked cookies, later pizza was delivered and the staff fed everyone lunch. The reading material was great with some available computer around for clients with internet access so I did not feel bored with almost 5 hours service procedure. My stylist was a perfectionist so I knew I was in good hands and would walk out looking beautiful, after the treatment I got a hair cut with another professional stylist listened to me and suggested something else and then finally she did what I felt it was great for my face, hair and shape. Before leaving a friendly customer receiving a manicure started chatting with me about how beautiful and nice my hair look and another customer stopped me on the way to the front desk to pay and ask me about what I did for my hair to look like that. I was pleased with the entire experience and will definitely return for other salon treatments. Trust me go there and try them out, just don?t forget to tell them Jo sent me! Best Wishes

I have been going to ?At Salon? for almost two years to get my haircut each four weeks and I am always happy and satisfied with it. The service is great and the atmosphere is incredible. I knew about the salon from CitySearch but I never came back to write a review till my stylist ask me today if I did or not and here I am writing a review after more than two years of service. I chose At Salon & Beyond based on the reviews here at citysearch, don't make my mistake. Although the team is very polite and they do their best to make you feel comfortable, the hair stylist completely disregarded my instructions and left me with a hair cut that makes me feel ashamed to go out in public. I had long hair and I was VERY clear about wanting to cut my hair absolutely no shorter than my shoulders. I could sense right from the start that the hair stylist wasn't really paying attention to me but because I specified that I didn't want my hair to be too short, I hoped it would be fine. After all, I have said it so many times that I thought she must have caught it at least once, even if she wasn't paying attention. I also brought a picture from a magazine and asked for a specific cut, but specifying (again, many times) that I didn't want my hair to be as short as in the picture. The hair stylist always answered " yes, no problem." Well, not only the cut is nothing like the picture I showed her, but she cut my hair even SHORTER than what it looks in the picture. When I realized she had cut so much, it was too late to stop her. When I brought to her attention that she had cut so much more than I asked, she told me that the length I wanted wouldn't have looked nice (according to her). So she knew she wasn't following my directions the whole time. She just decided that she knew better than me and basically took it upon herself to decide for me!! Now when I look at myself in the mirror I can barely hold down the tears. Not only the cut looks pretty bad, it is also so short that there is no way to fix it. I will have to buy extensions and wait for my hair to grow back. Needlessly to say, I will never go back to this place again. Don't be fooled by the reviews. Don't make my mistake. Choose a place where they will take your wishes into consideration, instead of thinking that they can decide what looks best on you. I have to live with this hair now, they don't.

I got a facial here-- and it seemed to be like ordering chicken at a steakhouse.
The salon is known for hair-- not facials. The extractions were not great-- and the aethetician was pushing products hard the whole time. Also, I am tall-- and I barely fit in the backroom where the service was given. I wouldn't go back for a facial.

Thanks for taking time to read my response. I was not having a bd day when I wrote the review, just giving my impression of my experience. I am 6 feet tall and thin, but did still feel cramped.
I could not find the name the woman who did my facial.

I moved to NYC about a year ago and I have yet to find a salon I am comfortable with. I chose At Salon & Beyond based on the great reviews on citysearch, and I was not disappointed. I arrived for my appointment a little early but they took me in right away and they couldn't have been nicer. My hair looks great and I will definitely be going back for more services. This is the best salon experience I've had in NYC.

I generally don't write reviews but this was must and I felt like I had to write because it is not just a service that I received , it was an outstanding service and experience.
I had facial been designed by French company protocole followed by a relaxing body rub and massage. All what I can say is WHAT A TREAT! I never felt that warm, professional feeling in any beauty service I had before. I felt like I deserved that treatment after a heavy busy day at work and a husband and 2 kids waiting for me at home for another work.
The price was convenient and the appointment started on time.
I recommend every busy working mother like me to find the time and try that experience and feel the different, you will thank me I am sure.Good Luck

This salon was great, I was there last week picked the salon out of citysearch. I got color and cut for my hair besides a fantastic new hair treatment (Bio ionic I think its name), one week later and my hair still feels great and uncommonly healthy.
I have very breaking dry hair but after this treatment I don't even recognize my last week hair!
The salon is very clean and a Top-notch professional team makes you feel like family with their hospitality and proficiency. It's a cozy organized place with lovely atmosphere.
I like this salon and I will continue to be a loyal client.

I had been desperate for a good facial & wax , each place I did try and I mean it I tryed a lot didn't have everything right either not good time apointment , or a delay on it and I have to wait long, or a bad facial experience or a cheap quality wax and sticky drama end.
I used citysearch as my guide and decided on @Salon largely because of the few reviews they have as I do not believe in too many reviews for a business with no long existing time and because I know how hard it is for a client like me to find time to write a review so I always consider that 80% of the too many reviews are fake. My experience there was very good I started my service on time and a really good professional esthetician from Europe with a cute accent explain to me everything, what she will do step by step, what products she will use on my face and what she can recommend me to do with my face at home before sleeping, when I wake up and when the weather been dry or very cold, she is really good and she know her stuff, the products were very good and her hands were very gentle,then I had my wax and it was my first time in my life to have a pleasent experience with wax service , very good french product they use and I like it. Finally the ambience at this beauty salon is one of the total bliss I will try to color and cut my hair there and I hope I 'll have the time to let you know.

I was desperately in need of a hair cut and do not like to plan out appointments days in advance. However, sometimes you never know what you'll get when you walk in, though. This place was great. They were nice, decent price, good hair cut...I was happy. I'll go back if they can fit me in next time I'm in need of a chop.

What a great experience! A girlfriend recommened this salon to me a while ago but I never got around to coming here. Finally tried them out yesturday and really had a good time and got an excelent service. I had a facial, wax and by the way it was the best wax experience I ever had, it was a french brand wax, its far less painful anf it left my skin very fresh and smooth the same with the product they use for facial it is Yonka and it was my first time to be introduced to this frensh skincare product and I felt so great and I did buy some products of this brand.Finnaly I had my haircut and styling by a nice girl her name is Inna , she gave me some great tips on products to use and gave me a fabulous haircut. The customer service there is great and every one there is so nice and the place is so clean and I will not forget to say that they always offer softdrinks , tea, coffee besides the best homemade sweet stuff I ever had.No complaints! Keep up the good work!

I cannot express how happy I am with the hair color and cut I received on Saturday evening. I have been searching and searching over the past year for a salon that would be attentive and actually care about how my hair turned out. Due to my failure in finding a great colorist/stylist my hair was overprocessed, dry, breaking and overall just horrible. I have paid way too much money on higher priced salons just to be terribly upset with the results. This was my last chance. I was giddy with laughter as I left the salon. Overjoyed and utter relief is how I felt. After all of my bad experiences and to find such a gem is a wonderful feeling. This is my permanent salon residence. Thank You Thank You Thank You!!!!

I am so happy that I found AT SALON & BEYOND , I recently moved here and was nervous about finding someone to color my hair and have some highlights and a hair cut.
LUDA did my color and highlight with all attention to the details and after discussing with me all the options and details of processing at the same time LILIANA the hair stylist discuss with me what I want as a style for my hair cut and consult with LUDA the colorist what color we will choose and what type of highlight so we can choose the right hair cut and style, while serving some hot fresh coffee and some pastries and from time to another ask if I want something more.
The staff made me feel so comfortable with their friendly, warm and talented attitudes.
Girls, if you want to keep your long locks long go see Luda and Liliana they will make the time ti talk to you and ask you what you want and they will tell you what they can do and have great suggestions for you.
Go check them out for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

I was not certain if I should trust the 9.3 rating ...but ohmygod! I had such a "stress-free" afternoon .... they took such good care of me and listened to everything I wanted and made suggestions that were great. I had full highlights, a cut and style - dry ... and my hair looks fantastic. The people were so normal ... NO DRAMA .... NO MAJOR EGO/ATTITUDE .. plus I mean I got a very very very nice cut and color job. I cannot give this place enough compliments... seems too good to be true. I will never go anywhere else from now on! ( I am going back for a facial .. I got a look at some of the women who just had them!) Plus 20% for each first time service ..

If you are looking for a place to pamper yourself you must to go to "At Salon & Beyond". Its name serves it well. It isn't only a Salon, but also a place where I manage to relax and to feel good about myself. Sam makes sure to provide the best sweets and a nice cup of coffee. Fernando has been cutting my hair for six years and still don't have a complaint. Edita gives the best and most relaxing facials while listening to classical music.
Way to go "At Salon & Beyond"!!!

I had many bad experiences in many fancy expensive salons in the city with a lot of hairstylists just care about the money they will get and the product they will push you to buy and with all of that I never felt the beauty inside me despite the fact that I have been told that I am really beautiful and then I discovered the reason that when you go to a place serve you like a queen give you all their attention to the details of your beauty besides the attention to your personality and the care about your money not pushing you to do any service or buy any product you do not need that exactly what happened with me over there in At Salon & Beyond very nice place and high skillful professionals and strong friendly management care about clients' satisfaction not clients' money. Really I enjoyed the experience being there and being served by them. I had many services Hair cut, Color and Highlight, Manicure, Pedicure, Waxing and French Style Facial a whole spa day a lot of services with less money compare to one or two services I used to have in a fancy expensive place with no result or any kind of satisfaction even when it came to the recommended products to use at home they offer me a lot of sample to try at home and check what I like and what I dont. That is the customer service we need here in a big city like New York and that is the way a beauty salon should be because a beauty salon is something very sensitive in our life specially women I put it at the same level of choosing my private doctor or my best friend to share my secret with.
Thank you At salon for your fantastic services and thanks for every professional person working there and thanks for this type of successful management in customer services field and finally thanks for CitySearch for giving me the opportunity to express my feeling and share with the others and I recommend every woman and man to try this salon and feel what I felt.

I've been in NY for 5 years and have been to countless salons - high end big-bucks to neighborhood hole-in-the-walls. I can't tell you what a gem this salon is. Marni is the sweetest, friendliest person who welcomes you in without a hint of condescending sass. Fernando talked me out of my backwards ideas for getting my long wavy hair to curl more and schooled me on what to do with my hair to get it exactly how I want, without a body wave, rollers, or any other torture devices. He is the first stylist that I have actually enjoyed talking with since...well, since ever. My guy cannot get over how amazing my hair looks - and also couldn't believe that, aside from the cut, I had nothing synthetic done to my hair. Fernando is your next best friend and he is sitting there, right now, waiting to make you beautiful. So go. Now. Go for the honesty and the talent and walk out looking and feeling completely perfect. GO!

I had long hair, but it was thin and just never looked right! So I wanted to go shorter, but not drastic. Enough for it to have volume - yet fun! You walk in, are greated with a smile (can I get you water, coffee, tea) and you MUST try the cookies that they have there. Home made! My hair looks great - even when I do it on my own. She was great at listening to what I really wanted, and how often I wash my hair - how much time I have to spend on it each morning. I have been to some expensive salons that just never did the trick. Aveda, Bumble and Bumble, and I found a gem in my neighborhood! The price is great - 70 bucks but first times have a 20% discount. Tell her Violetta sent you!

I love coming to At Salon - the staff is so friendly they make me feel like family. My hair has never looked better - Venera listens to what I want and after we talk she gives me exactly what I asked for! I get so many compliments and refer people to At Salon all the time. Luda does my highlights and does a fantastic job. Sam, the owner, makes lovely home made pastries which you can nibble on while you have coffee. It's a fun place to be - like being at your friend's house - if your friends were talented beauty professionals!

The staff at At Salon are friendly, knowledgeable and are determined to make you look and feel your very best.
Luda has kept my "mature" hair young.
Manicures and pedicures are excellent. as are the facials and haircuts, (for men too).

The title just said everything, really fantastic service, fatastic team and perfect management. I recommend all the ladies in upperwest side to use there service for only one time and I am sure you will be happy and continue doing service with them.

After I took an appointment I was there on time , I felt like everybody was waitting for me , the receptianist called my name once I steped in and show me the way to the other section where I had the service i asked for , very nice place and nice people with extra hospitality. really I like to be there and I will be for sure a regular client.

I was surprise by the high level of service and skills in this beauty salon. I went there to have a hair cut I found my self doing everything there from hair cut to color to high light and facial plus nail and pedicure, really a fantastic service with exellent atmosphere and talented statt.
I recommended this salon to all of my friends and family and to any one look for a value upscal salon with convenient price.
