This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is out of this world. Delicous southern style dishes and an exceptional array of mixed beverages for all the "alchies"..lol. And its a PERFECT spot to take your date!!! Nice dim candle light, and smooth laid back r&b and jazz. The people and the service is great. I have no complaints other than they should really start a franchise and get a bigger place cause its usually packed.

I visited Night of the Cookers, Christmas Eve 2009 with my best friend. I heard about this place from my boss as well as my best friend and they were talking ALOT about how good the food was but I was not impressed, yet it was'nt horrible.

Night of the Cookers is an excellent soul food restaurant in the heart of Fort Greene. It is a huge place so there's rarely a wait, and the food is yummy. It's also a good place for Sunday brunch, especially for a large group. They usually have live jazz and the brunch meals--from the blackened catfish to fried chicken and waffles--are excellent. The service can be a bit slow at times.

Nice Environment, Good service, Live Music (should call to get exact times). No cover, Great food...Decent Drinks...

Depending on what time you go, you may have a slight wait to be seated; but there should be room at the bar.

I love this place. I've had just about everything on the menu. Sometimes there is a live jazz band on select nights. Their southern fried chicken, salmon, and shrimp scampi dishes are great. The mac n cheese is like heaven. It melts in your mouth. Night of the Cookers is also a great place for a date. It is dimly lit with a candle placed on each table to add a romantic feel The exposed brick and black art add the perfect touch.
