Munjed's reopens for business after tax raid

State authorities briefly seized and shut down Munjed's Middle Eastern Cafe for delinquent taxes Tuesday, but the owner reopened while officers were still on the scene after working out a payment agreement.

The state had three open tax warrants on Munjed's before Tuesday's seizure, said Susan Burns, a state tax department spokeswoman. The business owed $20,729 in sales taxes and $106 in corporate taxes, according to those warrants, Burns said.

Too much hype for this place. Food was adequate but over priced. King David's is far superior in both price and presentation. Staff and waitress's are far nicer . Not a pleasant experience.

Munjeds is one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in Syracuse. The food is very flavorful and the service is excellent. Seating is limited, but takeout is available.
