Just a comment on the previous review by a gentleman who accused a pro of screaming. Actually the pro was highly experienced and was working with the advanced tournament training team which comprised of little children who were extremely talented. He may have been a little louder than average, but all the spectators were appreciating his enthusiasm and the players were performing. As the pro realized that this customer was new, he asked him to obtain his money back as any professional would offer. I encourage you to come on Saturday or Sunday to see the caliber of junior tennis. I used to teach there once upon a time and my siblings who were exceptional in acacdemics and on the tennis court were coached by this same pro who this gentleman complains about.

Great courts, parking, clean...
Only one court was being use for the kids class; We were using 2 courts and all of us could not believe how loud this guy could be. My sister is a pro and I never heard her screaming at the kids, but everyone has a different way to teach. Pay for what you get ! I been playing for over 40 years and this is not the way to teach kids, they are smart, getting private class would be a much better option.

It's only one big bubble with 8 courts; If you have a Pro giving a drill to little kids, we are all going to hear the screaming; By paying $136.00 for 2 hrs I don't expect the Pro to tell me: I'm going to scream as much as I want and if your not happy you can get your money back!
Just make sure you don't go Saturday or Sunday mid-day!

I have taken 6-week adult group tennis classes in summer 2009. the lady at the desk is very nice and helpful. they are very flexible with the classes. I had to miss 2 of them and they let me take them later.
The main instructor I worked with was Andres. Considering that I was a beginner in tennis ( I realized I did not even know how to grip the racquet) , he was amazing! he teaches everything step by step, makes the lesson fun. We were 3 people in the lesson and everybody get chance to play decent amount of time. He made us work hard and at the end of every class we were sweating and it was great. After 4 classes with him, I was very good and some others I played with did not even believe i was a beginner. I recommended him to everyone I know and even to the ones who did not like their instructors in the same club. He is a great instructor even if you are not very sporty like me. I plan to take lessons this year as well. I did not check yet but i hope Andres is still there.
I had to take two lessons with different instructors as well. I do not remember the names now but one of them really sucked! He had to teach our group for one session and he behaved like we were pros not beginners. he didnt really teach anything just throw balls so hopefully we could hit some.
Another one was a better one but i think he was not for beginners again. if you know a little bit he is good to play with improve what you know. we were two people in the session and the other girl was a first timer and she got very frustrated since instructor didnt teach a lot.
I cannot compare the place to other places since this is the only place i have been to but I really enjoyed this club.

I only go to play tennis, so can only comment on that, but for that alone the courts are great, very well maintained. I go a couple times a week, the courts are some of the nicest in Brooklyn, easy to get to just off of the Belt Parkway and when the tents come down, the view is great.

This is the best tennis club I have ever been to. The pros are knowledgeable and have great spirit when they teach. The head pro Bill Martire is one of the best pros in the business! Anyone who takes a lesson for him will be blown away! I highly recommend if you like tennis to play here, take lessons, and have your family join!

For the most part, the teaching pros do not teach the kids anything. The most glaring omission is their failure to teach proper grips and footwork. Basically, all they do is drill. The exception is a pro named Geoff, who is quite good. He offers guidance, advice and tips. The rest are weak. They need to make it fun for the kids. Set up some targets, play some games, and have some incentives (a sports drink, a can of balls, etc.). Get creative!
The head pro (Bill Martire) isn't very friendly, and appears to simply drill 1 on 1. His wife -- an administrator in the facility -- is quite nice and helpful.
As far as them just wanting your money, I haven't really seen that. Their fees are fair, and their billing is flexible (can be pay as you go or a lump sum). No complaints there.
The hard courts are decent, though they are not covered by the bubble most of the year (it's not the club's choice -- the NYC Parks Dept. owns the site). Lighting is also decent, though it could be better.
The pro shop there has excellent equipment (stringers, strings, racquets & some clothes & shoes), and they claim that they will beat competitors' prices. It's an above-average pro shop.
Overall, the place is good to very good. Give it a try.

I have been to many Racque tennis club. Bridgeview Racquet Club is
the worst one. The only thing they concern is how to get your money, not teaching tennis. The Head Pro is rude and unfriednly to customers.
