Like their famous saying, Ilio's is a "Family Restaurant with a Gourmet Touch". I am there often for lunch but dinner is equally enjoyable. Daily specials (best of wich is their Stuffed Bell Pepper!) and everyday Italian Favorites. Home made pastas, Veal Parm, and their Chicken Abruzzi are also favorites of mine.
If you are looking for a great place to eat and the prices are not that expensive, youve got to try Ilio's!! The service is fast and the waitress was very friendly and came around a lot to see if we needed anything else, like pop, etc... They have the best minestroni soup too. I have been to this restaurant a few times, and the food is always very good.
My first experience with Di Paolo's was for our wedding 7 years ago. They were wonderful, handled everything for us, the menu was spectacular, the food was delicious and plentiful, the bartender & wait staff were pleasant, friendly, happy and fun.
At our wedding we started with a cheese & crudite table, which I was told was a big hit. Dinner consisisted of soup, salad & stuffed shells, then a family style dinner of Braciole, seafood marinara, vegetables and homemade bread. The family style allowed us the ease of a sitdown dinner with the plentiful food of a buffet.
Dessert was amazing! Not only did we have our wedding cake, but also included in our package was coffee service with flavored coffees and teas, Italian cookies and spumoni.
Their every day menu is spectacular, too. From the moment you sit down and you are presented with the basket of homemade fresh breads, to their signature minestrone soup, to the cannelloni, Italian grilled steaks, seafood choices, you have to make sure to have SOMETHING with the Ilio Di Paolo signature marinara sauce!
Save room for a cappucino and a cannoli for dessert. They are the best in the area!
The prices are very reasonable! My husband and I always make sure to go back for our anniversary every year, and we have wine, soup, salad, appetizers, dinner, dessert and cappucinno and with tax and tip spend less than $60 for the two of us.
PROS: The marinara sauce, cannoli and cappucino
CONS: Need a reservation on Friday or Saturday nights or you'll wait for a table
Excellent food.. What more could you expect from a down home style place. comfortable , VERY nice staff. Food Quality is Excellent. The Dipaolo Family makes sure your visit is one you expect. Not many Restaurants where the owner comes to you and asks you how your dining experience was. Why pay higher prices by going to the north town suburbs to the Bistro's/cafes.Where your only treated like a number and paying twice as much for they skimpy Retro -Chef dishes. When I go out to dine I expect a plate of food, not something that looks like a piece of artwork from some Culinary Institute. Want a great meal, at a fair price,,,,,,Head to Ilio Dipaolo's
Food and experience is way over-rated. The house spaghetti sauce is nothing special - quite pedestrian.
Ambience isn't swanky at all, but if you hero-worship Jim Kelly like its 1992, you'll want to go home and redecorate your garage or basement bar after your visit to Ilio DiPaolo's.
Nowhere to go in Blasdell after your meal....except the Thruway on-ramp to go somewhere else.
Pros: People in Blasdell need to eat too
Cons: coasting on a thin reputation
been there many times and never disappointed - great Italian dishes with a wide variety menu - the fish fry is very good on Fridays - recommend a reservation as they tend to get busy on weekends - restaurant started by a Buffalo legend and continued by his two sons - worth a visit
Pros: italian food, antipasto, prices
Excellent food and Great service!!! They have the best of all types of food appetizers, entrees and a wonderful dessert selection!
I don't usually care to eat out, however, this restaurant is great! It's like eating at home, but you don't have to cook. It is family owned and everyone is friendly, even the owner. The food is delicious. The place is very inexpensive for such a nice restaurant.
Pros: good food, inexpensive, friendly
I have tried the Veal Marsala and the spaghetti and I was not impressed with either of them. The Marsala sauce was very mediocre. However, I had the best mushroom soup that I have had in many years here.
Pros: Great Mushroom Soup
Cons: Expensive, Over rated
