We bought a mattress there about 4 months ago, it started to sag and was noisy. We call they sent someone out 2 weeks later she said MM would call they did a week later and said she found a stain on the mattress and we need to remove the stain. I removed it but in the process put two tiny holes in the mattress which now look worse than the stain did. I will let you know tomorrow. I hope to say they are great.

When I bought a mattress at the Victor store, the salesman told me that they would take 3 pieces of bedding -- any combination of mattresses and box springs -- for $20. Later, when I asked, he agreed to take 4 pieces for $25. When I accepted the offer a day before delivery, I was told that they "couldn't do it" because I had gotten such a great deal on the mattress -- a claim which, after reading some of these reviews, I've begun to doubt. Finally, after I threatened to contact the Better Business Bureau, he said they would pick up all 4 pieces for free. Of course, when the delivery men showed up, they had no knowledge of it. They did say that they are constantly dealing with customer complaints over false promises made by salesmen at this company.

I called the salesman later and he claimed they had made a mistake and promised they would swing by and pick it up the next day. Did that ever happen? Of course not.

I simply would not trust anything they promise. Make them put it in writing -- or, better yet, go somewhere else.

My wife and I recently went shopping for mattresses. We went to several furniture stores and mattress stores and we ended up purchasing at Metro Mattress in Rochester on Jefferson Rd. The store was clean, well organized and the sales staff was more knowledgable about the product than any of the other stores we visited. Associates at the other stores were all about the sale and had little knowledgable about what the product consisted of - which is very important when trying to determine what would work for an individual's body.

I am a firm believer of researching companies before I give them my business and I found out that Metro Mattress is not only an extrememly reputable company (A+ BBB rating) but is also extremely involved in numerous charitable endevours that give back to the local communities that they do business in. It was very hard to find another mattress company or furniture dealer in my area that has been as philanthropic as Metro Mattress.

Our mattress set was delivered by 2 of the most professional and respectful young men that I have ever had the pleasure of allowing in my home. It was a wonderful experience would highly recommend Metro Mattress to anyone that is in the market for a great night's sleep.

SO far so good. I bought my adjustable bed from Metro. The price dance took hours but I feel like I made out. They started at $4800 and I got it for $2400 2 foam pillows a mattress cover 2 years to pay at a fixed price and free delivery. Im happy so far. Where can you get a king adjustable bed with a good mattress delivered for $2400?!!! The catch is I had to wait 2 weeks to get it. Im about to start my 2nd week to wait. I want my bed (back problems). I also had them make the bed lower to the ground (for free too). So far Im happy but lets see if it lasts. The last one I bought from Raymore sagged. The warranty people came out 3 months after I got it. It was junk and I was told they would do nothing about it. They came to work the next morning with a mattress chained and padlocked to the front door. Lets see if Metro can keep me calm.

I have made 3 different purchases with Metro Mattress and have to say that my experience was excellent every time. Here??s a little secret folks, you negotiate price in the furniture industry! I??m not seeing anything underhanded reported here, just some people that are uncomfortable with this type of industry.
Sometimes problems happen. One of the sets that I purchased from Metro Mattress had a deep hole in the middle. I contacted Metro and they sent an inspector out to my house and filed a warranty claim with the manufacturer for me, FOR FREE! The manufacturer ended up replacing the mattress due to a defect.
Some people should take a step back and realize that problems happen everywhere. The true test is how well the company handles those problems, and in my opinion, Metro Mattress is an A+.

Metro Mattress would like to express our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused your household. Tempurpedic is a memory foam that consists of a proprietary formula using a unique process. It does react to your body temperature to correctly align the back and provide maximum support. Unfortunately we live in an area where the changing of the seasons fluctuate our temperatures. With those fluctuations, a mattress of such composition can be delivered extremely hard if cold, or extremely soft if warm. Rest assured that once this product resumes to room temperature, it performs merely perfectly. Mattresses are loaded in delivery trucks that are not heated, and therefore if we get to a home and it is very hard, we dont want to risk damaging the mattress or a customers home before it reaches the room temperature. As a company, we wouldn't want our customers to wait until Spring to get a better nights sleep. I am sorry that you didn't allow us to bring the mattress upstairs once it did reach normal temperature on the following day, and rest assured your money has been refunded in full as of Sunday November 29, 2009. All of our customers are important to our continued success whether they purchase a $15 pillow or a $5000 mattress set. They are treated with the best customer service available.

I have read a few negative reviews on Metro Mattress as well as King Koil and cringed because I had bought a King Koil Aviana Latex Mattress a little over 2 years ago which had an impression of over 2" on my side of the bed and a smaller impression on my wife's side. We have rotated the mattress faithfully per the instructions. I went to Metro Mattress to start the warranty claim. They gave me a form to fill out which I did and mailed to King Koil. I included the $50 check as instructed by the Metro Mattress Employee. I didn't like that too much but the contract I had signed when I bought it clearly stated that would be the case. I didn't think I'd ever need to return the mattress so I didn't worry about it at the time. About a week later I heard from Mattress Marshalls and they made an appt to inspect the mattress. A day before I heard from the inspector I got the $50 check back in the mail with a note on it saying the fee had been waived. A pleasant surprise. I have the mattress on a steel frame with the proper support system and have used a deluxe mattress pad since we bought the mattress. The mattress looks pristine except for the sagging and impressions. The inspector looked at the mattress and took pictures and then said looks like it is defective you probably won't have a problem with the claim. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop so to speak. A week later I get a call from Metro Mattress who told me to come in and get a new mattress. I said is it prorated..he said no..you get a new mattress free of charge. I said the same one..he said no they have changed that model a few times since you bought it..its now called..whatever he said..come in and try it to see that you like it. Ok so I go in with my wife and try the new Mattress. The other shoe dropped...so I thought. The mattress looked cheap compared to what we bought. Ours was a latex mattress and had a Kashmir top on it..looked quite eloquent. This looked like a cheap mattress and had a regular coil spring system. We asked about its construction and the manager (from another Metro Matress store he was filling in for the day) said I think that is just a coil support system but the computer says that is the replacement for your mattress. He can see my wife and I are not too happy and heard us talking about how its not like the one we have..but we had yet to address it with him. So he says hang on come look at this. It was another king koil...nicer..still no kashmir top (he said they don't carry a latex mattress with kashmir now) This one listed for $2,700. It felt similar to our old one but a little softer. He then said we would only need the mattress no box spring since our old one was still good and it matches that mattress. He said I can give you a good deal...your old mattress is worth $1800. My wife said wait...we paid more than that. He said well you also bought the box spring...so the mattress itself is worth less that that. I felt like here we go!!! My wife said well it is up to you to me...I said well I am not going to pay for a mattress...the expensive one I bought failed..I should not have to pay more to replace it and also see if that fails too. I was not arguing or anything just stating I did not want to pay to replace a warranteed mattress. So then he said hang on..I have Serta that is latex. Brings me over to that. That felt exactly like the old one...still no kashmir though. He said he could do an even swap on that and include the box spring. (This had a price of $2300...which was more than we paid for our original mattress). I said its a deal and he wrote it up. I take delivery of it on Wed. If something goes bad I will update but at this point I am happy with the outcome. They did right by us in my eyes. I did not have to complain or stomp my feet or make a scene or jump through hoops. Maybe I got lucky...but I would buy from them again.

I also used to work for metro mattress, and they are not the evil company that some make it out to be. I am going to try and address a few of the complaints that seemed prevalent. Please note that I am no longer affiliated with metro mattress in any way and as such anything I say may not represent the opinion of the management.

The practice of having a higher list price is STANDARD in the industry. All of the big companies do it (after moving from upstate New York I had interviews with Sleepy's and Mattress Giant and they filled me in on their sales practices in depth). If you make a purchase, it is because the product you were purchasing was worth the price you paid for it, if it was not you should not have made that purchase. No matter how good the salesman is, they can not force you to buy.

Why does everyone think a fixed price is a good thing? When you buy anything from a large chain store they are making a huge margin on everything. You don't get to negotiate, you pay them exactly what they are asking for and they make a much higher margin on most things you buy (have you ever purchased something from a RadioShack? They make a 5,000% margin on some things, literally).

Having a non-returnable product is also standard for the industry. If they were to take returns on their product, they would then have to re-sell it to remain profitable. Most people do not want to sleep on a bed that someone else has used. This is why they offer a GENEROUS exchange policy (have you seen the policy for other major stores? The $100 is tiny in comparison).

In regards to the $50 service policy, you do not have to pay it. You can always call up the manufacturer, fill out a claim, and wait a couple of months for them to do anything about it. Any other store will refer you to the manufacturer, maybe give you a number to call or a website to go to. This is a SERVICE that they offer to help speed up your warranty claim and get you into a new bed sooner. Whether you use it or not is your choice.

Lastly, I would like to reply to people that are complaining about the terms and conditions. If you don't like them, don't sign. Do not make the purchase and take delivery. Underneath the signature line it states clearly that your signature indicates acceptance of the terms and conditions as listed on the back. How is it anyone's fault but yours if you sign a legally binding contract and then have remorse.

I too use to work for metro mattress and let me tell you at times i dropped the price just cause i felt bad , they mark up the price for instance something that says 2,100 you can get it for 1200 bucks easliy. the point of a high mark up is so when the 2nd person comes in they will create urgency and pretend like there is 3 left (if that) and drop the price ridicoulously. Anybody that don't beleive me here this is how it works take it from a ex-employee
1, If you dont tell them how much you wanna spend they are gonna show you the 4000 dollar beds , thier motto "if you dont show them you cant sell them"
2. they will try to push king koil on you because it's a minimum requirment for the sales people. they will say "king koil has been around since 1898 and they are the oldest and the reason you dont hear them like serta, sealy ,simmons is because unlike the others they put all thier money into their product instead of advertising. Simmons is so much better then king koil it's not even comparable. ASK THE OWNER THEN WHY DOES HE HAVE A SIMMONS BED AND NOT A KING KOIL????? THE REASON THEY PUSH KING KOIL IS BECAUSE IF THE OWNER SELLS A CERTAIN PERCENTAGE KING KOIL CUTS HIM A MILLION DOLLAR CHECK AT CHRISTMAS TIME, AND IM BEING SERIOUS! AND TO THINK THE CHRISTMAS BONUS IS $200 HERE IS A LITTLE OVER A 100 EMPLOYEES THATSB ROULGHY 20,000 DOLLARS OUT OF HIS BONUS CHEPOOOOOOOOOOO

Bought a mattress. Was told they had a special promotion--our mattress would come with two FREE mattress covers, two FREE pillow covers, two FREE pillows, FREE bed frame. Was told if mattress was not comfortable, we could exchange it within 14 days for a $100.00 exchange fee. The day after delivery, we realized it was too hard. We went to exchange it. We chose a softer mattress that was $100.00 cheaper; so we expected it to be an even exchange. Right? Because of the exchange, they now charged us $396.00 for the FREE items we had received. We told them we had only used one mattress cover and wanted to return the other FREE items. They said those FREE items were not returnable and we now had to pay for them. What an incredible rip-off! We obviously could have bought a better mattress at any other store for much less money. By the way, the mattress is already showing a body print after less than two weeks. DON'T EVER BUY FROM METRO MATTRESS--THEY ARE THIEVES!

We told them we had only used one mattress cover and wanted to return the other FREE items. They said those FREE items were not returnable and we now had to pay for them. What an incredible rip-off! We obviously could have bought a better mattress at any other store for much less money. By the way, the mattress is already showing a body print after less than two weeks. DON'T EVER BUY FROM METRO MATTRESS--THEY ARE THIEVES!

There is a reason this company has bad ratings. I can't begin to tell you what a bad experience buying here is. They want your money and that's it. Please check out the Better Business Bureau on them. http://search.buffalo.bbb.org/codbrep.html?id=32600 this is for multiple locations they rate an F. They are so overpriced it is scary. I found the same World Class mattress for $400 less at local furniture store less than 1 mile away with no pressure and pleasant sales people. I find it unnerving how they make up prices depending on the mattress or if they feel your not going to buy right away. I understand that times are tough right now but I didn't need some huge amazon young lady belittling my decision to shop around. if you don't look at the options you'll be paying a lot more for the same product . I can't believe the people who wrote good reviews here . This company can't give the service they described here. BUYER BEWARE! I found the review from a former employee to be exactly as he described. save money shop around and don't fall for their King Koil /Laura Ashley go to beds. they are their go to beds with more profit and and can be bought elsewhere at a much lower price believe me. I use to work for these guys... You get two weeks training in how to "get the most money out of the costumers. the prices
are over inflated so they can give huge "discounts". Says right in there adds if you pull out a magnifying glass to see it in the fine print that the prices listed as manufacturers suggested retail price may not have actually been sold at that price. At any rate i guarantee you will get a better price from anyone else. They really are professional rip off artists. Its a point of pride within the company they get such high profit margins out of every sale especially compared to other stores.

Do not buy anything until you Read the Contract !! There are no returns. Ever. The owner is a lawyer.
If the bed is defective, they will charge you to send someone out. That's right... if the bed is defective, you have to pay. It's in the contract.
If you can't sleep on your new bed, you can upgrade IF you bought the cover, AND you'll pay full list price. Read the contract.
These guys are not listed with the Better Business Bureau. Do your business with a company that is.

I bought a metro mattress, a sealy over a year ago. We moved to a new house about 3 months ago. After moving we called our metro mattress store in Webster because after the move we had noticed there was a measurable sag in our mattress. We had a bedding specialist, courtesy of metro mattress come to our home. His name was Jeff. He was gracious and courteous, he even removed his shoes and asked our names. Jeff measured our bed, using a tool he had brought, removed the bedding and even checked the box springs. He was very thorough in listening to our complaints. We signed off on a paper and within 1 week we heard back about our defective mattress. Tonight I will be sleeping on my replaced metro mattress. I thank you, Jeff, for being courteous and efficient. I recently went to a Metro Mattress outlet in Webster (suburb of Rochester). The salesmen were acting too smart, they would pretend to talk to each other too see if they can give you a great deal and then try to sneak in an overpriced delivery charge.My advice would be to keep away from this store.

We ran into the same issue that everyone else here seems to have had. The salespeople must have gone to car sales training, as they don't tell you everything - even if you ask the right questions - until after they have sold it and you have it in your possesion. All they want is the money - no customer service at all. From everything I've heard since - the owner is a lawyer and doesn't care about what happens after the fact (Sounds like a lawyer doesn't it!!).Stay away from Metro - Our experience was in Utica, so it doesn't get any better at any of the stores.

Please dont buy from Metro Mattress. I wish I could tell everyone I know about their return policy,but I am so embarrassed that I didnt read the return policy that Ive kept this nightmare inside of me. I did extensive research on many different types of mattresses by going to many different stores asking questions,reading the internet and asking people what they thought of their beds and so on. I was in their store(Metro Mattress) I told him of how I could not sleep because of a sagging 17 year old bed.I came in several times and tried their different beds and he recomended a king koil,which I didnt know was a king koil untill after I purchased it. He said I could have the king size for the queen price. I called a day later to say that I had changed my mind and needed some time to think before my much needed vacation and that I had checked some reviews and king koil did not look good he said anyboby can say anything on the internet. true but believe me this is true dont do it. Im cargiver for my 93 year old mother in law for 4 years and I get no days off. He said but mame your sagging 17 year old bed. I said ok, knowing I could return it if it didnt work out. It didnt work out, and three days later I found out I would have to pay a penalty charge and delivery charge and the next new mattress would be full price. I couldnt even take two inexpensive beds to make up for it. I was sick.

I ask about the price guarantee and he told me that some big shot couldn't approve it . so I cancelled the order ....I will be talking to an attorney and the attorney general .. STAY AWAY .. FAKE SALES AND VERY PUSHY ABOUT BUYING SOME $100 PILLOWS that arent worth 25 dollars.... the secret here is walk away and then watch how some one comes over to Drop The Price they first told you .... Worse Than Used Car Salesmen ...

My wife, a new mother, bought a mattress at Metro Mattress in New Hartford and was told if it did not fit (a safety concern for an infant), she could just bring it back. It did not fit and when my wife called to say she wanted to return it, the phone answerer was very rude, told her NO, and when she asked for his name he quickly hung up. Lies, rudeness and a violation of ethics on all levels. The repeated problems the company has indicates this business is rotten to the core. I teach business managers and students about business management--NYS's higher wage earners. Metro Mattress is now my in-class example of bad business ethics.

I wonder if cheating one customer out of less than $100 is worth losing all those future sales due to such unethical business practices? If you are ever in New Hartford and see this store,keep driving.

RecentlyI paid 50.00 to have your company send someone to my house to measure my

The sales people were nice when we arrived and looked at mattresses. It was the first place that we had gone, they said they had a holiday sale that was ending that day, but that we could pay to reserve a mattress for the holiday price and cancel later if we decided not to get it, and we could get a full refund. The next day, we found a mattress for a much lower price at both City Mattress and Sleep City. We called to request a refund from Metro Mattress, and the salesman was very rude and told us to call back. Then we went to the store to get the refund, and he was *extremely* rude and very, very unpleasant to deal with. It's a bad way to treat customers, plus they cost so much more than other places. They even charged $50 for delivery! All the other stores, delivery was free. We will never go there again and would dissuade anybody else from going. Also, their return policy was unreasonable -- 14 days, $150 fee, must buy their mattress cover for $69.99. The place we ended up buying from gave us 60 days, no fees nor required mattress cover, and exchange or upgrade from their store.

PROS: same variety of selection as other mattress stores
CONS: Expensive, very rude, unreasonable return policy
