I read a review recently for ciao and was not happy. I have been going there for awhile and am very happy with the services. The person who does my hair is very kind and absolutely fantastic as is the person who colors my hair.
My nail-tech is great and i can't say enough great things about her. I've been with her for over 10 years and she is very knowledgeable and up do date with the services she provides.

I THINK THE CIAO IS AWSOME

I just happened to come across some reviews for Ciao Hair Salon and would like to comment on them. I've been a customer of Ciao for the past 11 years and I am in there for one service or another at least once every two weeks. I think the fact that I've been going there for 11 years speaks for itself. The two reviews I read were each from people who were "searching" for a place to get services done, which also speaks for itself. Take it from someone who has been there more than ONCE, this place is the best!

I went to Ciao this winter for gel nails and a hair cut. I have been getting my nails done by the same gal for years but she was out of town and I needed a new set and it was my fault I didn't book ahead, so I called around to every salon in the area and asked specifically how they put on their gel nails. Ciao's nail person was on the phone with me and stated her process for nails and it was exactly what I wanted so I made the appointment. I like my nails to be enhancements since my nails are longer but softer which means building ontop of my nail, not glueing a piece of plastic to my nail and calling it a day like the foreign places here. I met the nail gal and she was really knowledgeable of what I wanted. She filed my nails and go to know me. She then brought out the nail glue and fake plastic tips. I asked her if those were for me and she stated that they were and for who else would they be for? I stated I am sorry to waste your time but I don't want glued on nails that I can buy at CVS. She said no I can do what you asked me to just let me start. I should have trusted my better judgement but I let her put on the awful fake nails and she then started to grind my nail beds with the drill and put more fake product, another glue like substance, on top causing my nail beds to burn. Again, I have been getting my nails done for almost 6 years and my beds have never burned. I asked her to please stop and I am really sorry but this product hurts and the nails need to come off. She became really offended and said she wasn't done. I told her that I am really sorry but the product really burns and they need to come off. She slammed a bowl onto the table and filled it with acetone to have me soak my nails. As I was soaking she left the room, no apologies, then in the next room over began to talk about me and about what a stuck up b**** I was and how this was all my fault. For the next 20 minutes she left me there soaking I could hear everything she said, whether intentional or not, unprofessional. She came back into the room with a huge fake smile on her face and asked if the nails were finally off. I said to her don't worry this stuck up b****'s fingers aren't burining and red anymore and I left the room. The receptionist informed me that my hair cut was next and running a few minutes late. I thanked her for being kind and stated that since the nail lady already made me feel embarassed I do not wish to stay in the same building and left. NEVER AGAIN!

I recently visited Ciao for eyebrow waxing. I was trying to do some research on good places for eyebrow waxing. Well I was unsuccessful in finding reviews so I went ahead and found a salon thinking I would be in the clear. I had grown my eyebrows for about a month or two so I could get them shaped and still have a decent sized eyebrow. I went to the stylist with pictures to give her an idea. She went ahead and waxed and after waxing put some eyebrow liner on. She claimed she did it only to fill them in a bit and if i wanted to do the same I would know what it looked like. Well when she showed the finish brows to me I was extremely disappointed about how small and skinny they were. When I got home and washed off the liner I realized that filling them in was not the only reason she applied the liner, but because she ripped half my eyebrow off. I was EXTREMELY disappointed and will never go myself or recommend Ciao again. For a $20 I could have pulled my own eyebrows off and been more satisfied.
