Many people from the Canarsie, Old Mill Basin, Mill Basin, Marine Park, and Bergen Beach residents attend this shul of conservative observance. The men sit with the women. My mommy and me attend on the high holy holidays. We occasionally come for the dinners, shabbas services, and parties.
I had my wonderfull magical and awesome Bas-Mitzvah here. This is a clean shul. Some of the people here are rich, (well most are) Most people do tend to ride their cars here, on Rosh Hashonnah and Yom Kippur young or old. the people are alittle nicer here than the Flatbush Park shul in the neighborhood on a big competition with this sinagogue.
they have a hebrew school here for children in public school. People aren't quite friendly in this temple is you don't have lots of $$$$$$$$. It got worse over the years.
The cantor, his wife, and stepddaughter is nice, but the Rabbi and his wife are as cold as ice, snobby, with their nose stuck up in the air. They have contests here which is insulting to many children. they often send us newsletter begging us for money once a month. I brought many people I know, including friend here. the food is good. But a few times I got drunk here with my ex boyfriend, and I passed out in the street, and the former temple president had to drive me home. How embarrassing. There couple the rossman family, Beverly with a two toned bun and Robert a colonel sanders KFC look alike. They are Mill Basin millionaires and complain over every little thing. theres Toby a teacher who goes there as a member, and she's married and dresses where her boooobs show almost down to her nipppples. They call her the sluuuut of teh temple, and she has wild curly hair and is top heavy and packs her makeup on like a clown.
Here people are not as religious as they claim they are. They lie and are money takers. I call them jewish robbers. I still continue to go here. Now theres this peeervert Gary a divorced father who goes hitting up on women as much as possable. theres a mean teenager Elizabeth and her brother Josh the perveeerts kids. who start troible and act like 5 year old monkeys and play in the bathroom when people pray and they think this is a playground. They do have special catering here for weddings and bar mitzvahs. They don't tollerate poor social skills here like not putting the napkin on your lap, and never eat with your fingers. It's gross. They are glatt kosher and keep dairy, parve and meat seperate. this temple is costly, they ahve good food and special treats and deserts. It can be fun.
Many people here are reformed or conservaform, and do keep kosher in the house only, but eat ham and pork on the outside. Hypocrites!!!!!!!!!!
