Thanks for a wonderful relaxing weekend. Our room was just perfect and your spa services were top notch. Just what we needed. Already gave out a few of your brochures to some friends ;)

A friend and I booked a massage (her) and facial (me) at the Medberry Inn and Spa in February. When we arrived, there was no place to sit in the tiny waiting room. A staff member grudgingly offered to let us sit in the back while waiting for them to clean out the room. As I waited for my facial, the technician walked back and forth harumphing about the lack of sheets etc. About 10 minutes into my facial I developed an excruciating pain in my back. I suffered in silence for as long as I could, but eventually asked if there was any way I could sit up for the rest of the facial. She agreed to move me to a different room with an inclined bed, but with much sighing and grumping as she went back and forth. The new room was also like a refrigerator. With my back still in so much pain, she ended the facial early, saying I could sit out in the waiting room with a hot pad on it if I wanted. The receptionist (owner?) and her then proceeded to blame me for the pain, saying it must be due to my work, or the way I sleep. Not once did I say it was their fault, but they went out of their way to make me feel as if I had done something wrong. Not a single word of condolence, let alone apology. I left in intense pain, having paid full price for a facial that was cut short and been treated extremely rudely.

The Medberry is a beautiful day spa, converted from a 18th century downtown hotel. Entering this place is like stepping into a bit of the past. They have 11 guest rooms, each beautifully appointed and very individual. Over night guests are given a lovely berakfast each morning in the beautiful dining room. The spa offered mineral baths for or two, a hair salon, facials, pedicures, and many massage packages. The decor of the Medberry is stunning, with a Victorian flair. A lovely place to either spend a weekend or an afternoon.

PROS: Relaxing and soothing
CONS: none
