I happen to stumble onto insider pages while looking for the store hours. Although I ordinarily do not like to register for opinion type services, I felt compelled to register. I had to leave feedback on a previous comment made by Claudia N.

I have been coming to this store for many, many years. My opinion of this establishment is totally opposite of the comments made by Claudia N. Not once was the staff unprofessional. They are all well informed, know their business and eager to be of assistance. Claudia N mentioned that the staff had a cant be bothered attitude, perhaps she is the one with the attitude. Wow, no patience and a bird owner, a volatile situation.

As many others have mentioned, this place is wonderful, they are patient with children, as well as the elderly. I once took my 90+ year old mother in her wheelchair and they were as kind as can be.

For those of you that would love to visit a nice bird store, this is it. They have all types of birds and many are friendly and are in open cages. Some of the parrots would eagerly perch on your arm when it is offered. This is a great place. I have brought many friends when we are in the area and they loved the store. I have never had a bad experience here and you would agree.

My family recently purchased a Senegal Parrot from Bird Jungle. We have often visited the store since we were kids and we finally decided it was time to purchase a bird.

First off, this is not your typical puppy mill pet store. The birds are well taken care of. The store hatches and hand feeds/care most of its birds that it sells. The bird areas are very clean and there is always one staff member who works the floor in caring for the birds. The store also provides everything you need for your bird: cages, stands, toys, and high quality food (yes we did our research before buying). The prices for supplies (cages, stands, etc.) are also very reasonable in comparison to chain stores like Petsmart and Petco for the same items. The cage which we purchased for $79 was sold nearby at Petco for $99.

As to the comment regarding the birds kept in the back of the store, there is a sign that is clearly displayed advising that the birds are not for sale, and they are temporarily boarded, as well as other signs instructing customers not too touch these birds. .McCaws and Cockatoos are placed in much larger cages as well. What did impress us about their boarding service is that a local vet who specializes in aviary care visits the store regularly and will care for any bird that is being boarded in case of an emergency.

As far as wait, the store is busy, and sometimes crazy busy. However the reason for this is that the staff is very attentive and answers customers ??questions thoroughly. It??s also not a mega store like Petco which has a number of registers to check out in. When we need to purchase food for our bird, we just make a point to visit this store earlier during the day which we are in and out within reasonable time. The store also provides wing clipping and nail grooming at very reasonable rates.

If you love birds, this is the best store around. I cannot say enough of good things about Bird Jungle.

I was just looking for the phone number of Bird Jungle when I came across a Google link to the rather unpleasant review of this store from several months ago. Reviews like that can often influence people who have never been to an establishment before and I felt it was necessary to post a review that gave a totally different customer point of view.
I have been going to Bird Jungle for over 20 years...I started going when my oldest child was about 5 years old and have continued going, most recently, with my soon to be y.o. grandson. For our family and many others in the area Bird Jungle is not just a store, but as close to a child's petting zoo as a store can be. The staff is patient...informative and helpful...the birds are in open, segregated areas where customers can play with them and help in the process of hand training the birds. The staff always keeps an eye out to make sure that no one is doing anything they shouldn't, but generally they leave customer and birds to work out their own relationship.
The place is clean...the birds' areas are very clean and well maintained and the cages in the back of the store are clearly marked as birds being boarded.
I can't speak to the other reviewer's sales experience but I can say that her review seemed very mean spirited and not reflective of the spirit and energy of the people at Bird Jungle.

This is in response to Claudia Nicosia??s review of 8/9/11. I am the manager of Bird Jungle and I was there that day. That review was unneccesarily nasty and insulting. I am very sorry this person had to wait. We were VERY SHORTHANDED that day. I had my 2 most experienced staffmembers out that day. One was on vacation and the other called in sick at the last minute. The only replacement I could get was a new employee of 2 weeks. On top of that it got busy all at once. Besides the macaw I was selling, we were also selling a Lovebird and a Cockatiel. All of these people were before Ms. Nicosia. They all needed proper instructions on how to care for their new family members. It??s unfortunate that we were shorthanded but it happens to everyone and we would hope that reasonable people would be understanding. The birds in the back are not our birds but rather boarding birds in customer??s cages. They were not in distress or neglected. The reason there were so many birds is because our customers have been so satisfied with our boarding service, the popularity of our services continues to grow. There is no way that a pet shop can thrive at the same location for 30 YEARS without providing exceptional service.

I went to this store on Saturday Aug 6 to buy food & toys for my CAG. I will never go back. There were 3 employees (though they all looked like low class degenerates) and I spent close to 10 minutes looking for a specific perch, not once was I asked "Can I help you w/ anything?" While I managed on my own, I brought everything to the register but there was someone buying a bird in front of me so I sat on the bench & waited, and waited... you would think the grotesque excuse for a woman behind the counter would've called TweedleDee or TweedleDum over to cash me out while she was doing paperwork....noo that might have required her to walk off a twinkie finding one of them. When I do get the chance to pay for my things, one of the toys does not have a price... great, TweedleDee calls TweedleDUm... no help surprise! Ask the redheaded monster.. she belches '19.99... my total comes to over $100.00 but I decide to check the price and do what idiot #1 SHOULD have done. Of course the real price was $17.99, now idiot #1 looks annoyed because I want my $2.00 back...so he calls idiot #2 over SURPRISE he doesn't know! Voids the whole thing, and starts all over again! What a joke... I witnessed other people asking questions and getting the same "can't be bothered" answers. The sore is disgusting... the back is fullof birds in too small cages stacked one on top of the other with birds who have obvious signs of distress & neglect. Letters to the appropriate authorities will follow.

I love this place. They're knowledgeable and very helpful. They're a great place to bring the kids because the birds are free to move around. They have all kinds of birds that are healthy and obviously well cared for. Just go for a visit and you might find yourself becoming a bird lover and owner.

Going to Bird Jungle is an experience like no other. The birds are not enclosed in cages, but rather sitting in open lucite cubicles. They are free to walk around, fly, or do whatever - but they tend to stay in their respective areas. Still, they do love to talk! It's always a party in bird jungle with the screeming parrots, cockatiels, parakeets, and other frinds. You'll enjoy yourself if you like to pick birds up and have them sit on your shoulder.
