Yankee Fly & Tackle is terrible
by Duncan S.
Dont do business here everything is way overpriced and the people are rude. Plus you have to pay on the river they "own". The shop is in a great location but for the price youid be better off driving somewhere else or even walking down the street.

Read to Believe! There are other tackle shops in the area!
by Warren F.
As a regular customer to this business for a number of years, I inquired as to why this business would stop people from fishing in the river behind the store and this is the reply I had gotten. I had to edit her reply as you can see. I have the original emails available upon request.
*****************************************************************
Do you feel better now? I hope so. I need to make something crystal clear, you were never my friends. You were shop customers. And yes, things change.....now I charge a fee to fish on my property whereas before it use to be one would have to purchase something in my shop. This past salmon season my shop was not open therefore I catered to my lodging guests and anyone who wanted to fish my property had to pay a fee. I chose to be a full time mom vs. having regular store hours.....sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you for your past business and if you choose to not shop with me in the future, that's fine too. I am sorry I hurt your feelings however I have to do what I have to do and just so you know, it's not based on "Greed" as you think it is.
As far as changes, it's ALL changing up here. More and more properties are becoming private due to many people's utter disregard for the environment and littering all over it.
I have the right as a business owner to charge for fishing on my property that I pay taxes on, to change my mind, and to tell everyone to F*** OFF if I like and be a full time mom. You and your girlfriend have no idea what I was going through with my life and you seem to think it's all about money and greed, well it's not. If you even thought for one minute that you were my "Friends", then why didn't you call me and ask me if I was okay? That's what "Friends" do. This is why my statement above about you not being my friends is true. In your email you said you went and calculated all your receipts from my store.....for what? To try to make me feel bad that you spent money in my shop? That's business. You act like you did me a favor? What about what I did for you? Hmm? Or is it one sided? You & I never went out anywhere, we never kept in touch, we never had dinner together, etc, etc.
You said what you wanted to, I read it and you can choose to shop somewhere else, it's your choice.
Good luck with your life and I'll be fine with mine. I hope your email to me has put "Closure" on your hurt feelings. I do think you you both really need to do some research on what it means exactly to be a "friend" or a "true friend" as you say. I do have those in my life and there's not many because a really good friend or a "true friend" is someone who understands when someone is going through a difficult time. Believe me when I say this, you & her have no f***ing idea what I was going through and you never will.
Sincerely,
Dawn A. Rucando, owner of www.FishTheSalmonRiver.com

questions answered = products sold!!! (with a smile)
by steven w.
my son and i stopped in today. major dissappointment!! we needed some egg sacks and sinks but before we began to shop we asked about the high waters and a safe place for my son to wade. i was very rudely informed that if i was not buying something they werent telling me anything. but turned out to be a blessing. we went accross the street to salmon river sport shop. they were very nice and informative. we spent $26.00 and had agreat day on the river and my son was safe. thank you for your lack of info at least now i know where to shop.
