Shannon Arell of Marie Bove gave me a great cut the first time i walked in the door. I told her I wanted something fun and new. Suddenly, my traditional bob became a bunch of layers and bangs. I was a little bit shocked at first but then I left the salon. Everyone complimented me on my new look! And I paid less than I usually pay for a haircut in the city (after 15 years of searching). thank you Shannon! Try her out for yourself! She even emailed me a week later to see if I liked my new cut or was there anything else she could do for me? Wow, great cut and service too.

ana is a very talented hairdresser, she evaluated the condition of the hair and treated it, and styled and colored my hair to enhance the look of my face. furthermore the products she uses are top of the line.

I wanted to highly recommend Handri @Marie Bove. I met him through a mutual friend in Los Angeles. He suggested that I try Lasio which is a Brazilian Keratin treatment. i have very frizzy hair that is hard to control. I've tried a lot of different products without the results that I got from Lasio. Now, my hair is smooth and manageable. I love this treatment. Afterward, I got a haircut. Fabulous haircut. I am always on the run and this gets me out the door quickly. Since, I no longer have to spend a couple of hours on my hair! I am often in New York for business. So, whether I'm in LA (home base) or New York, I will be visiting Handri. The treatment and haircut was the best ever. Most importantly my friends and colleagues have noticed the new look.

Having followed Ana from her previous place of employment I will not let anyone else cut my hair. She listens to all your concerns, has great insight, and I am always pleased with the result. She cut my hair on my wedding day and of course it was perfection once agan. I highly recommend her for men's haircuts!!!! Thank you Ana!!!!!!

i went to the salon, because a friend had recommended ana. my hair was frizzy and out of control, ana did the keratin treatment and left my brillo..soft and silky. she was friendly, kind and very knowledgeable about her profession. she was patient and gave great suggestions, i would highly recommend this salon, and namely ana.

I can only speak about Anna Acevedo who is my hairdresser, she does an excellent job. She takes time in doing what she does best. Takes time to explain the condition of your hair and what reccommendations she may have for you. I just recently had the brazillan treatment and she did an excellent job. If you have the hair type that frizzes in humid condition then i suggest you have this done. Anna takes pride in what she does, and the final outcome is fantastic.

It is now a week since Anna did the brazilian treatment on my hair and I have to say that I am very, very happy with it. My hair is soft, silky and an abundance of shine. It has not frizzed up since the treatment has been done. I have to say that i was scare at the beginning but after seeing the wonderful results, I do intent to continue this have this done again when it needs a boost again.

If you have any problems with keeping your hair controlled then I truly suggest that you see Anna and get this treatment done along with her expertise in haircut. You just have to visit one place to get what you are looking for and that is Anna at Marie Bove Salon!

I went in to get a hair cut and in the past the stylist never really quite got what i wanted but this was more then on key the blowdry out was fabulous i got a lot of attention, also as i was about to leave i saw they had a great offer for teeth whitening only $99!! thats crazy compared to the dentist...i came back for the second treatment and ready to go back in for the 3rd!!!

This is the second time Andre has cut my hair and I can say it's been great each time. As a Brit moving to NYC, I had to endure one terrible, and two very mediocre haircuts before I found Marie Bove. Highly recommended.

Ana has been my stylist for many years and I just LOVE her work! She's great with color, cuts and straightening. She specializes and is certified to do ALL types of hair straightening. I specifically wanted the Brazilian Blowout (Ana is certified to do it) and she did a GREAT job! My hair is curly/wavy and always frizzy. Once I had the Brazilian Blowout my hair was very straight, very smooth, very shiny and it just looked VERY healthy. My hair does not get frizzy anymore as I tested it coming out the shower; my bathroom was very humid and my hair stayed the way it was when I left the salon! Couldn't believe it! Ana is just great and I truly recommend her for any type of straightening treatments, cuts, color etc!!!

Guys (and girls too I guess) - get your haircut from Shannon before the word spreads and she's booked out all the time. Started a few months ago I think. Like my haircut clean but soft at the same time, and asked for that - that's what I got and then some. What prompted me to write - it's weeks later, now and by this time I usually need another cut. But the way she cut it - it's holding up great and looks good even longer. That's a rare skill - plus she's got great energy to be around. Not going anywhere else now.

I, too, followed Handri from Ted Gibson to Marie Bove Salon. Prior to Handri, I only trusted my tresses to my longtime hairdresser in Paris and when forced to come to terms with the fact that the Euro prevented me from going more than once a year, decided to search for someone local. It took me three years and countless mediocre to terrible cuts to find a great stylist (and I did everything from expensive to super expensive). I am now a loyalist. The first time Handri cut my hair, everyone said that "the cut was meant for me." And the last time I saw him he gave me the perfect color. My hair does not settle for anyone less!

Additionally, I found the staff and clientele to be diverse and friendly. The atmosphere is clean and inviting without an ounce of pretentiousness. I will definitely return.

I've never posted a review for a product or service, but after the thrill of finally receiving a beautiful haircut that actually makes me feel beautiful EVERY time I look in the mirror, I want to post this in gratitude of Handri at Marie Bove. He is such a sweetheart to begin with; but, moreover, for the purpose of this post, he is an INCREDIBLE hair stylist!!! He takes a long, thorough time with each cut, measuring for precise angles and amounts, as if it's his own hair - and most importantly, Handri is a natural artist whose aesthetic sense is as perfect as can be when it comes to styling hair. My whole life I've had mediocre to bad cuts, even paying out the ears! Then I read a Citysearch review, where everyone raved about "Handri, Handri..." So I booked with him, and how thankful I am now!! I finally know of a bona fide master stylist, who I will return to again and again for a cut that grows in as beautifully as when it is freshly cut - knowing that each visit will mean months and months of satisfaction. Thanks to Handri, I must now work on not letting vanity get the better of me before a mirror! Hahah! THANKS HANDRI! This one's for you.

I have been going to Marie Bove for the past 6 years & .... I love it
My stylist is great, and the rest of the staff is great. The staff & clientel are diverse. I am always treated with respect.... everyone there is nice, the 'vibe' is warm & friendly, unpretentious, and most of all - I get great cut's & color.
its a no brainer!
And,
with a name like 'glamitup'- maybe she should have chosen a salon on Madison Ave.
There she could have gotten cookie cutter service & a look to match.
If you assume that all people in the city speaking anything other than English are sharing 'secrets'
- I am truely sorry.

I just had my first visit to Marie Bove, and Handri. After seeing all the great reviews I had to check it out. It was definitely worth it. I got a partial highlight and cut, and with the 25%, it came to just under $200, which is great for NYC prices. Handri gave a great consultation on both color and cut, and it turned out just how I wanted - natural looking highlights and a simple cut with layers. I also got a great blow-out that lasted days. I will definitely be back to see Handri.

I have been a customer at Marie Bove for years and always find the staff to be friendly and accommodating. I appreciate the flexible way they always work with my schedule and the welcome I get from the moment I walk through the door. Marie Bove gets five stars from me only because they don't have six!

I followed Handri from Ted Gibson Salon to Marie Bove Salon... truly I wouldn't have thought to go to Marie Bove if my favorite hairstylist hadn't gone there- but I must say the comfortable ambiance, friendly faces and over all feel of the salon surpassed my expectations. Ultimately, I'd have to say that after all of the stylists I have gone to (through)- including some at the highest levels - there has not been one person that could cut my hair better than Handri! I've referred many friends and all have felt the same way!

Ever since I cut my "below the shoulders hair" to a funky, textured haircut I have been looking for a NEW hairstylist & salon for a while now. I also been trying to grow my hair back out.

My previous styling salon in Brooklyn moved from their location and never informed their clients. I was devastated! I have been searching for a new stylist for a while now. I found one near my job here in the city, but I was never too happy. I even tried switching stylist within the salon. Still, I wasn?t happy. I starting my online search yet again, reading reviews, comparing prices... I was getting stress now... My hair wasn?t looking good as it used to, it is in its growing process.

Until I came across Marie Bove Salon... for some reason this salon stuck out like a sore thumb. I read every single GREAT review. I also love the fact that the salon is only 3 blocks away from my job. I can go get my hair done on my lunch break! Yippy! Anyway, I was greeted by the owner (forgot her name). I explained to her my dilemma and she told me to have a consultation with Handri. Well, needless to say, I went in there to check the salon out and get a consultation, but I left with a gorgeous haircut!

Handri was GREAT! He listened carefully to my "hair" issues and suggested to shape up and connect my "disconnected" layers so my hair can start growing out without looking like a "disconnected" mess! Well he gave me a GREAT haircut and styled it beautifully. What more can I ask for?

The other staff members were very friendly and polite as well, including the shampooing staff. :)

When I was done, a staff member complimented my hair and I told him that Handri is stuck with me now. Well, he welcomed me to the family! I was very pleased with my experience.

It was my first time came to Marie Bove Salon which I found online and I will not look anywhere else! I just recently relocated to NY from LA for work. I had long time stylist who I regularly go in Beverly Hills and I was afraid for anyone to touch my hair, but i found Handri and in love with him!!!!! He gave me Great color and Fab haircut, that when I left I'm so happy, also I got so many complements at work and my husband LOVE IT too.
The stuff are very nice, friendly, and relaxing environment with a reasonable cost which it won't break your bank acct especially with this kind of economy.
I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *THANKS HANDRI*

My friend and I just happened to walk past as we were heading to lunch... the look of the salon was very inviting so we both went in and got appointments for later on that afternoon.... the staff was delightful.... I got a great cut and color from David..... while my friend went to Dino her hair is a lot longer and looked so great a real blend of natural colors... we were treated as if we were regulars... top of the line treatment from the great head wash and neck massage to the refreshments being offered.... They really do know customer service as well as the individual skill of the stylists....As I said what an unexpected pleasant surprise!!

Not only is this salon sheek and afordable, but it is in a convinent location and extremely worth your while. The scene as well as the people and set up is classy and elagant. The blowouts are amazing and I have never been more satisfied with a cut and style than I am at the Marie Bove salon. The people are personable and make you feel comfertable when you're there. The shampoos are amazing and the colorists are EXCELLENT to put it perfectly. I would honestly never recommend another salon to anyone. I have been searching for a salon like this for a while and now that I have, I''ll never search again! It would be in anyones best intest to go!

After moving to NYC from LA, I needed to find a salon that was affordable and convenient which is how I first found Marie Bove's salon. But after many haircuts, colors, highlights and emergency trims (cutting your own bangs with nose trimmers = Bad Idea), I would never go anywhere else. The blowouts are amazing and the shampooers make you feel so good, it's probably illegal in 48 states.
I booked my first appointment here two years ago and I've been a loyal customer ever since!
Do yourself a favor and GO!

I have been to a lot of NYC's top salons for cuts and color. FINALLY....I found the perfect place who always gets it right! Since the first time John cut & colored my hair I have not let a single other styling/colorist touch it. He gets it perfect every time & even switches it up ever so slightly to go with the seasons. He'll say, "you are tan all summer lets kick up the blonde a bit" then in fall he pulls it back a bit so it goes better with my skin tone. Everyone I have recommended to go to him is very happy & continues to use him. I just got my hair done yesterday & have received several compliments & it's only noon...I am on a "hair high"...THANKS JOHN!!!!

I was having a horrible day and decided to get my hair done and there was Marie Bové Salon. The space has an at home feeling to make you very comfortable and the staff is very accomadating. I did not know what I wanted but just wanted a change. My stylist was right on it ...and just got me. I said maybe two words and he gave me a makeover. Exactly what i wanted....Really I highly recommend to anyone and the cookies are good too.... Now I love to get my hair done...

The owner truly provided an outstanding response to my complaint, demonstrating to me that her salon is professional and restoring my faith in Marie Bove. I have no hesitation about returning.
