Party while you eat

by Melissa F. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,168

Mustang is a great place to have Happy Hour and have fun at the same time. The food is okay, but you go there for the atmosphere and the decor. If you're looking for a quiet place, this is not it.

Great for Drinks and Apps

by Millie G. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,719

This bar/restaurant has a variety of tex-mex offerings and some great frozen drinks. The outdoor seating is really great when the weather is nice. An overall fun place to have a drink and food with friends.

Mustang Grill

by A S. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 427

This place is a restaurant and party all in one (even though dancing is strictly prohibited by the numerous signs on the walls). The food and drinks are really very good and the atmosphere is colorful and loud. A good way to start or end a fun night out on the Upper East Side!

good tex mex

Mustang has a nice location on the ues on 2nd avenue. There is a lot of outdoor seating and it's a popular place to eat in the summer. The margaritas are pretty strong and half price at the bar during happy hour. The food is actually very good, but a little expensive for what you get

Good UES hangout

by Ben C. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,959

Mustang is a pretty good place to grab a drink in the summer. It has a nice spot on 2nd avenue where you can grab an outdoor table and people watch while having a tasty margarita. The food is actually pretty good too.

DEEP-SIX THE DJ!!!

by vhurtado

Overall I'm content with my visits to Mustang but their tunes selections SUX!!! I don't mind listening to Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, the Doors, the Clash, Rolling Stones. But do we have to hear the same ol same ol EVERY DAY over the... last several months???? The joint used to play a variety of music during the happy hours, including good Latin songs. Maybe I need to wear an ipod while sipping my margaritas.Read More

Pros: Attractive crowd, great margaritas, happy hour, good food

Cons: Their happy hour music needs to DIE!!!

Great Food and Great Drinks!

by nycwino

My boyfriend and I eat regularly here. This is one of the best "quick eats" places on second avenue. The bloody mary's are great (very spicy) and I highly recommend the shrimp with chorizo rice (Mmm tasty). The only problem is that they have a high turnaround of servers (with good reason too, because there are only a few that are actually pleasant). At other restaurants that we regularly go to, we feel at home but not here. We continue to go back because of the food and drinks, but have never felt that welcomed. I recommend checking this place out for the food, but dont' have high expectations for service.

Pros: Food, drinks and location

Cons: service and remembering who is a regular

Late at Night on weekends!

by maryanmil

If you're craving a burrito or some tacos late at night, you definitely need to come here!

The decor is colorful and the clientele is diverse. Not exactly the cleanest place..but the food is just what one is looking for late at night or after a sweaty basketball game!

Have fun!

Make sure to check out the specials!!!!

by firmbizz1102

My boyfriend and I went to eat at Mustang Grill last Thursday. We sat down, and the server took our order for my favorite strawberry margaritas. Before she left she suggested and explained a few things on the "specials menu". She was very nice and the restaurant was very busy. I appreciated that she was taking her time to explain to us what they had and was not rushing because I knew she was very busy. I have been there to eat a few times now and never really paid attention to exactally what was on the specials menu but from now on I?m going to make sure I do because the food was so delicious!!! We shared the tilapia and the soft crab shell salad, which I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys seafood. There were both so yummy. So to all those who eat at Mustang Grill, pay attention to the specials, they are unbelievable!!

Pros: food and service were both great!

Awesome time at Mustang Grill!!!!

by chicitarosita

My friends and I held a birthday part a Mustang Grill the other night. We had a really good time. They restaurant gave us this really nice back room, so it made our party more private. The service was very good. The waitress took really good care of us. We ordered a lot of appetizers; my favorite was the enchiladas and the chicken quesadillas. They have really good guacamole too! The margaritas were really good especially the iguana and the silver snake. We all had a really good time and I?m definitely going to be going back.

amazing atmosphere!!!!!

by sbfny83

My friend and I decided to walk around the other night to try to find a place to eat. We decided on Mustang Grill because from outside it seems like a fun place to enjoy dinner and drinks. Specifically, because of the outside cafe, the colorful interior, decorations, the great music, the attractive staff, and the open doors in the front make it very inviting to come in. We went in and sat down and ordered our first round of drinks. I ordered a tasty strawberry mojito and my friend ordered a huge peach margarita and a flight. The drinks were so good, but the flights were amazing!!!! You could get four different kinds of tequila for a really good price. If you like tequila I would definitely recommend them!!!! Our food was very good. We ordered the nachos as an appetizer and the pecan chicken and the jumbo shrimp for our entrees. Our waitress was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. I enjoyed my night tremendously and I?m definitely going back!!! P.S. the music was great!

Just had to post. We ordered drinks. 5 minutes later orderd food. Apps came and were eaten before we ever got our first drink. Waiter noticed and apologized foor the new bartender who was "retarded". A little uncooth to say but we got his point. We got it even more when we ordered our shots of Patron at $14 a pop and as i swung mine back, 3 little ice cubes fell on my teeth and blocked the route to my mouth sending my shot all over my face and shirt. seriously??!! Ice cubes in my shot glass..WTF..i guess he wasnt kidding and she really is retarded. Thats ok if she is but the drinks should be cheaper becasue they get a tax break for her working there.

do not go if you do not intend on drinking..
Food is good and pricey.. but only works when accompanied by lots of tequila.
If you like tequila this is the place to go. usually attractive crowd.
affordable tequila if you order 4 at a time (which is the only way to do it)
great margheritas too . . . if you are looking for a nice dinner spot look elswhere
if you are looking for a mild party on the UES look no further, its always comfortably crowded.

Pros: drinks, crowd

Cons: whack music selection

The worst restaurant I've been to in NYC

by Audyer14

My boyfriend and I go to eat early on Sunday evening and hear that Mustang is good. It's beautiful out, see that there's no less than 4 open tables outside, so we request to be seated outside. The hostess tells us that there's a 20-30 minute wait to be seated outside. There were EMPTY TABLES outside and very few people at the bar who could have been waiting. We are seated by a window inside instead. We order - I order the vegetable burrito with cheese and my boyfriend the ribs. The Waitress does not write our order down. She walks away, then comes back to confirm the order since she forgot in 30 seconds. 25 minutes later, my boyfriend's ribs and a fajita arrive. I remind the waitress that I ordered the burrito, so she takes it back. My boyfriend eats his ribs, which he says were nothing better than just OK. Another 20 minutes later, my burrito finally comes out. It was possibly the worst burrito ever made. The whole wheat flour tortilla was dry and crumbly, there was some sort of disgusting brown sauce under it and the cheese I had requested was slapped on top and barely melted. I expected at least an apology from the waitress that my food took so long and that she made a mistake. The 45 minute wait for the awful food was ridiculous. Then we asked for the check, and the waitress brought us the wrong check, which wouldn't have been so bad, except it was a continuation of her mistakes. My $15 would have been much better spent at Blockhead's or Chipolte - at least the food at those places tastes good and the service there was 1000% better than we received at Mustang's.

Pros: Outside seating, if you can get it

Cons: Service bordering on incompetent, expensive tasteless food

Awesome Neighborhood Spot

by joeread

I've been living on the UES for about a year and half. This weekend I finally got to Mustang Grill. I always see how busy it is and now I know why. My friends and I were greeted by the most beautiful hostess I have ever seen. We opted to go to the bar for drinks first though. Bartender was really cool and made for a fun time. We notified the hostess that we'd like a table outside and we were seated promptly. Having come from the bar I was expecting bar type food, but boy was I amazed!! I had probably the best piece of tuna I had ever had. My friends went for fajitas and burritos and both were enormously sized. We all left VERY happy. Great bar, even better food and the price is right!!!

Pros: bartenders, hostess, food

Cons: nothing

This place was awful!!

by lilikaki

I went there last night with some friends after reading all the good reviews in this site. I can?t believe those reviews were written by actual customers! This was the worst place I?ve ever been to. The food was nasty and the service was a joke. When were seated the waiter bought over some chips and salsa like they do at all Mexican restaurants and he made a point of telling us how he would do us a favor and not charge us for them! And no he was not joking. The utensils were bought over after the food was served and the waiter did not even bring them wrapped in napkins, he had them in his bare hands?gross! The nachos we ordered looked like they were just mocrowaved with some cheese wiz and they even managed to burn the cheese so they were black. Everyone else?s meals were bone dry, you could tell they just nuked the stuff and served it. When one of my friend?s asked for some sour creme, she was told they do not serve it and that she would have to pay extra money for sour creme. The entrees did not come with rice and beans as was described in the menu. The drinks were so watered down. I am amazed how this place stays in business, who in their right mind would eat there again? I suppose the only explanation I could see was that more than a few people were drunk there, so maybe they can?t recall how nasty the food is the next day.

Cons: Food, Service, Atmosphere

Great Spot!

by marklex

Lived in the neighborhood my entire 33 years and used to go to Mustang ALL the time. For some reason, my busy life has taken me away and I haven't been in quite some time. Well let me tell you, I took my girlfriend there last weekend and I was absolutely floored!! This place is still going strong and better than ever. There has certainly been a management change and, rumor has it, new ownership as well. Everything they were doing right in the past has only gotten better. Great Margaritas, surprisingly good food, and what a chill atmosphere?!! I literally wanted to kick off my shoes and spend the night!! Love the tequila selection. Ran into some regulars I used to hang with way back when, their loyalty is no surprise. Great to be back at Mustang!!!

Pros: Margaritas, prices, food

Cons: Can get very busy

Unpleasant Experience

by Susanise

Terrible atmosphere for couples. Went with my husband for a celebratory dinner. Though we had a reservation, we were squeezed into a tiny table between 2 larger parties, one of which contained the loudest, most obnoxious drunks I have ever encountered. They were right on top of us. Truly the worst of New York (please move away!). Food was good, service was good but a modicum of consideration needs to be given to seating arrangements. We spent $140 for an absolutely miserable dinner we barely endured. IF YOU DON'T GET A BOOTH, RUN, DO NOT WALK, AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. With this terrible experience, I doubt I will ever bring myself to go back.

Worth A Second Look!!!

by discjockeyjoe

I have to say I was thoroughly thrown off guard. I knew ownership had changed, but I had been there so many times before. I obviously enjoy the atmosphere, the music and great looking staff is something to behold.
The waiter was to the table in under 30 sec., took our drink order, and indulged in light conversation. Upon returning with drinks we had ordered the special Grilled Calamari appetizer, and the Mexican Pizza. The waiter informed us that the pizza had changed, do to the arrival of a new house chef. I was cautiously excited!! When the calamari arrived my friend and I almost ordered another immediately (still regretting that we didn't). It was tender and outstandingly delicious. The pizza came to the table and we all scarfed it down. Crispy crust, delicate cheeses make this pizza what it is. Now it's an appetizer of sorts, but I can see this becoming something popular among the pizza enthusiasts of NYC.
The waiter continued to swing by and offer drinks and after 2 I was surely feeling the tequila. Woo Heee are they strong! By that time, my company and I were laughing it up with the waiter and he was certainly entertaining. I was shocked by the charge for chips, but the gourmet food we had was very inexpensive!
Always a place for fun and light to heavy atmosphere... now, I have a great food destination!!!

Guacamole, too?!?

by loosie4

I agree with the person who wrote the review below! I went there on Saturday and when we were still deciding what to order our waiter asked us if we wanted some chips and salsa while we waited. Sounds free to me! He brought them over along with guacamole (which was never mentioned and we never asked for). When the bill came - SHOCKING - we were charged $6.50!!!! $3 for the guacamole!! We were so tanked, so we paid but still - they should not imply that we are getting some chips while we wait for free. That's like asking us if we want some black beans while we wait. The only reason I am giving this place the amount of stars I am is because I got WASTED on their delicious margaritas and our waiter was a spicy little minx. If only he took his shirt off and did body shots like we asked, I would have awarded this place 4 stars. Next time.

Chips & Salsa

by taurus88

Our waitress was not especially friendly and tended to go missing....so when we ordered our drinks, the waitress asked if we wanted chips and salsa while we waited and we agreed. Later on, she asked if we wanted a refill. We said sure. Then we get the bill and they charged us $3 for each basket of chips and salsa! If you are going to offer them, you should let the people know that you are going to charge them for it.

One of the people I was eating with ordered nachos. The menu stated that chicken was extra. She just ordered the regular nachos and they came with chicken. When she notified the waitress she was a vegetarian and did not order chicken, the waitress insisted to my friend that was what she had ordered. They charged us for the chicken nachos anyway, but I was so bombed by the time I left, I didn't realize until the next day.

This place is getting 2 stars, and that's only because I was 2 pitchers of margs deep by the time I left. Had I been sober, I think I may not have liked it as much. They were also accommodating when we asked them to turn off a ceiling fan in front of a light that was creating a strobe light effect on our table (genius whoever set that one up).

Pros: Good Margs by the Pitcher

Cons: They charge you for chips & salsa and don't tell you!

I'm going back!!!

by Mike2445

I went to Mustang for the first time to watch the Giants in the playoffs. After walking inside, I was a little concerned because it didn't look like the typical "football joint." Well, after the first playoff game (and a big Giants victory!), we had such a good time that we decided to go back the following week. The manager Marcio remembered us and seated us at the same table for every playoff game including the Super Bowl. I've been there a few times since then for happy hour and on Fri/Sat evenings... The mangager, wait staff, food, and drinks (especially the frozen margaritas) have been great! I would recommend Mustang for any occasion!!!

Mustang Grill is Great!

by mimi0726

I went looking on citysearch because my group of friends wanted to do the superbowl at Mustang grill and i noticed this posting. First of all, I was there for the game that you are speaking about and all the manager tried to do was consolidate the empty chairs in which the rest of your group wasnt using. Therefore, he could use the two extra tables to seat waiting patrons. Secondly, you ladies were indeed heckling the patrons that tried to sit next to you. Finally, I have been to Mustang Grill plenty of times and Mauricio, the floor manager, has always accomodated me, my friends, and my entire softball team. GO EMPIRE!

The worst experience EVER!!!!!

by chisaray

20 of my friends and I went to Mustang yesterday to watch the football games and we have never had a worse experience. Although we took up 3 whole tables among the 20 of us, the manager (Mauricio) wanted us to split up 2 of the tables so they could give away 2 of the empty seats to other patrons. After making us move down and split up our party to give up the table, they had problems seating anyone there (the seats were right in front of the screen), so the manager comes to us and says that they can?t seat anyone at that table because we were hostile and made people feel uncomfortable sitting there (please note, my friends that were there are a bunch of professionals and certainly would not say/do anything that was rude to anyone). Then he told us that we had to move again so they could make the empty space at the other end of our table. When we refused to move again and expressed our shock from his accusations towards us, he started to yell at us and told us that he was going to make all 20 of us leave! For 2 seats! I was shocked at the manager?s lack of people skills, I felt threatened by his hostility towards us (we were there for 3 hrs already at that point giving the restaurant plenty of business), and it just ruined the entire experience for all of us. We left at halftime to go to another bar because we were so upset about how we were treated, and we will tell all of our friends and family to NEVER go to Mustang. It?s important to note that we had already spent over $600 at that point, so let?s just say the restaurant missed out on doubling that amount if we would have stayed longer.

I have never felt so insulted or threatened by someone in the service industry ever, and am absolutely appalled that a manager at a restaurant would ever talk to people like that. Even the waitress (who was wonderful, thanks Fernanda!) apologized for how the manager handled the situation and people at tables around us were totally shocked over his rudeness.

Pros: absolutely nothing

Cons: RUDEST MANAGER EVER!

NEVER get takeout!!!

by user12182

Today I called Mustang Grill at 12:10 to order two Santa Fe Chicken Salads for takeout. "Fifteen minutes" is what I was told when I asked when my order should be ready. I got there at 12:30, figuring it would be waiting for me. It wasn't ready, so I went ahead and paid, after waiting for the bartender to pay attention to me for about five minutes (the bar was overrun with construction guys doing shots). So I waited... and waited... and waited... There were about five tables there, and two servers, in addition to the bartender. The manager was wandering around looking bored. FINALLY at 12:50, one of the food runners brought out the salads. I got back to the office: the chicken breast on mine wasn't even fully cooked. It was still pink and rubbery. I waiting 40 minutes for a chicken salad without edible chicken. Ridiculous.

Pros: Usually the salad is good.

Cons: takeout, lackadaisical manager

Good food and vibe, happy hour a disappointment though

by starlitewhite

Mustang is a great place to meet a group of friends when the weather is nice. You can sit outside and sip on the VERY strong and AMAZING margaritas. The food is good too! The only complaint I have is that happy hour is only offered if you sit at the bar. I think this is riduculous and is unfair to those who want to sit outside.....not to mention the waitresses. That's the only thing I was change about this place.

Pros: vibe, food, margaritas

Cons: happy hour only offered at bar

Not Family Friendly

by mileslaura

Terrible service. Management was rude. I would not recommend going here. I'll never go back. We were seated outside and then told we had to move because children were not allowed on the patio due to a "sidewalk permit" issue. The manager lied to us about this and bad mouted her own hostess to us for seating us there. She then proceeded to laugh with other employees about moving us inside. Needless to say we did not stay for the meal. I have never encountered such a rude person as this manager.

Pros: none

Cons: rude service/management

Horrible Service,Terrible Management and needs to be reported to the Board of Health

by foodcritic1974

I went with a friend a couple of weeks ago and asked for a bowl of chips. The rude waiter said there is a charge for that.Every Mexican restaurant in NYC gives free chips and salsa!!!! I then asked for Faijitas and said no peppers in that.He said it was pre-mixed and couldn't accommodate me.I told him to go in the kitchen and ask if they could do it. Of course they could. Forget about getting water which I asked for 5 times. The staff is so rude and what really turned me off was when I got to the bottom of the salsa, there was a corona bottle cap and lime sitting in there. How disgusting was that! Clearly they reused salsa from another table .I called over the quasi manager and and his answer was ,sorry about that, I'll bring another salsa. I was shocked. I thought he would take something off the check but he said there was nothing he could do. His only resolution was to bring a shot of tequlia. I should not have been charged but I was. I dont know what happended to the quality of this restaurant or managment but it definitely went downhill.

Pros: NOTHING

Cons: Health Hazard,Management couldnt care less about customer satisfaction

Terrible Service, Dangerous Food

by cootcurios

I was just at Mustang and asked for a hamburger with no bun. I asked twice. I told the waiter I was allergic to wheat. He brought me the hamburger on the bun and walked away. I eventually was able to get him to come back. I gave him the burger and he returned in three seconds with the same dish. The kitchen -- or someone -- had just removed the burger from the bun. I saw big clumps of bread sticking to the burger. I was not pleased. I sent the burger back, canceled my order, and asked to speak to the manager. I told him that i had told the waiter I was allergic to wheat and that this had been ignored. This created a real health risk for me. The manager couldn't care less. Suffice to say I will never eat there again. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, I suggest you don't, either. They couldn't care less about their customer's satisfaction or well-being.

Pros: Are there any?

Cons: Dangerous Food

I LOVE THIS PLACE..

by latinjewel98

I can't get enough of this place specially in the summer with the opened doors and outside sitting. I love the huge assorted margaritas. Ambiance, location and food. I've been here a few times and just have the best time. They have the main dinning room and also I believe is a cigar area. Great place to go after work for drinks. The margaritas are so good and strong that with 2 or 3 you'll be more than happy :) Nice service. The food is tasty. Will definitely keep going back..

While not the best food around, or the best prices, this place is usually a good people watching spot - particularly when it's warmer and tables are outside. I've gone with both friends and family and service, while nothing to rave about, has been consistent as well as the food.

Lots of Fun

by gioia100

This is a lively place--Candlelit, comfy, with lots of TV's to get your sports games--BIG DRINKS make everyone smile a little more--Menu has something for everyone. WELL PRICED. Good sized portions leave you filled up. Loved the burger and fries. Feels like a college crowd dominated place, but honestly, kids of all ages dine here. You can't miss on this one. Good grub, friendly and fun environment for a night when you wanna wear a comfy sweater and jeans and relax with friends. Don't miss the specialty drinks, but be warned--the LARGE sized drinks will leave your head spinning! =)

I quite like the atmosphere and especially the jumbo margheritas which are amazing! However, I walked past there tail end of last week and saw it is shut? Is this permanent? Hope not!

But if it's anything to go by, their website is also down so maybe Mustang is R.I.P. :(

No Cigar Lounge Anymore

by cliffworley

I went to this restaurant last night to check out their cigar lounge. I was told by the hostess when I got there that they no longer had the lounge. The did not sell cigars any more and there was no place to smoke. Even though their website still brags about their cigar lounge, trust me, it no longer exists. I didn't stick around to try the food or drinks, so I can't comment on those, but the place had a lot of people and everyone looked to be having fun and enjoying the food and drinks.

Cons: No Cigar Bar

R u kidding? GREAT ATMOSPHERE-FOOD-SERVICE-DRINKS

by robinina

My boyfriend and I visited this place for the first time on a Friday night and we have reaffirmed our faith in NYC restaurants. We had everyone, from the hostess to someone I think was the manager or possibly even the owner, asking if everything was ok and if there was anything we needed. The Pecan Crusted Chicken Breast was succulent, very well seasoned, and quite generously portioned, with the Mexican Rice and Spinach creating a wonderful ensemble. My boyfriend had the Sliced Hanger Steak and was literally comatosed from how tender, juicy and flavorful everything was. The Mango Glazed Chicken Wings are a Must as an appetizer but make sure to ask for extra Mango Sauce! And did I mention the drinks? No rationing bartenders here! Extremely good Margaritas and capping the night with a shot of Patron might be a good idea as well.

Pros: Good music, comfortable couches

Cons: Small Tables

Took forever to take our order, when I asked for ketchup the waiter gave me a nasty look, cuban sandwich was horrible... stingy on the meat with stale bread and oily limp fries.

Cons: rude service, poor food, poor atmosphere

It was just OK

by xacobeo

My boyfriend and I went there on a weeknight, so it wasn't crowded and we walked right in. The nacho appetizer was better than those at other Mexican restaurants I've been to. The food on a whole was just ok though. Nothing that special or different. The brownie dessert was horrible though, it tasted like something heated in a microwave. Our waiter kept saying he's sorry for rushing us, but he really wasn't so we thought that was weird.

Terrible Service

by waseem

Finally checked this place out one Sunday afternoon. The food here was fine. wasn't great, but wasn't bad either. It was fair. We got our food quickly! HOWEVER THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. The waitress was seemingly taking a break while waiting on us. I could actually see her sitting down and eating. I have been a waiter before so I understand eating for a minute, but she just plain didn't even CARE! I probably would have drank 4 drinks if she had ever came to the table to check on us. My girlfriend had to get up herself to get catsup and hot sauce. I had one beer and then waited about 20 minutes before my girlfriend finally waved at the waitress to comeover and get me another drink. If service is really important to you avoid this place at all costs, the MARAGRITAS are top of the line though!

Pros: 100 premium tequilas, Great Margaritas

Cons: TERRIBLE SERVICE

Great place for food, drinks and hanging out!!

by csummy

This is a great place to hang out during the week or on an early Friday night before hitting the clubs!! The margaritas are a great price and the food is fresh and not heavy like most Mexican restaurants. The DJ they have on Fridays and Saturdays plays all different types of music but thankfully mixes it up.

The crowd is diverse and every time I have been there the place is nearly packed!!

Pros: good atmosphere, good food, great drinks

Cons: not a large menu

truly suprised

by ragr_always

I have lived in the upper east side now for a number of years and for whatever reason i have never made it to mustang before last Tuesday night( honestly i am not usually big on mexican food). So my sister convinced me to give it a try. I had a really good time. I got the roast chicken which was excellent and we shared the mussels which were just as good. MARGARITAS WERE AWESOME! My waitress was suprisingly attentive and friendly compared to what I've been experiencing lately at other UES restaurants in similar price range. The music was kindof hokey.(I actually laughed at some of their song options)but generally all around a great time.

Pros: sincere, good service, great food, excellent margaritas

horrible food & service. Avoid at all costs.

by buzznyc

possibly the worst dining experience ever. Know that if you order a margarita, they give you the 'big' size and charge you the extra money. When we asked about this on the bill, waitress said "we're TOLD to do it that way" with some serious attitude.
Food was disgusting - quesadillas were burned to a crisp, cuban was on STALE bread with a measley slice of ham, and fries were either soggy or hard as rocks. Gross. Service was completely unattentive and combative, and when we left the servers were all huddled together pointing at guests. only reason this place is in business is b/c they're one of the few mexican places in the area. NOT WORTH IT!!!!

Pros: outdoor patio

Cons: horrid service, disgusting food

The worst restaurant experience I've ever had!

by rehee

If you bad service, rude waitstaff and managers, and sub-par "food" come here...otherwise, choose any other restaurant within a block of here! I tried to go here with 6 other people for lunch.the place was empty. we had reservations, but it made no difference...they tried to put infants in booster chairs...complete idiots!

Pros: none!

Cons: rude hostess, rude manager, terrible food

great experience

by drjl143

I recently went to Mustangs for my girl friends 21st b-day. WE came in from NJ and had a wonderful time. THe service was outstanding, and the food was fantastic. Our waitress was very nice, she talked with us and was always on top of everything. THe margaritas were out of this world. THe manager on duty was extremely hot and the waitresses were pretty too. I would definenty recommend this resturant if you want a good time and good service.

Pros: good wait staff, great margaritas, hotties

Three expierences in one restaurant.

Been going to Mustang for about a year now. I live on the upper east side and frequent many of the places there. The reason I like Mustang is depending on your mood you can choose your own atmosphere. The bar is lively, the outside cafe is always hoppin and the lounge is private and sexy. Plus they have the best tequila list in the city!

Good drinks hot girls

by hoboshimmy

My friends and I went to Mustang for drinks. We love to sit in the lounge and hang with the hot waitresses(the tunes aren't bad either). From the time we get there we feel so taken care of. Being a group of demanding guys, our drinks were never empty and neither were our egos. We even thought it was cool that our waitress bought us a round of shots and knew our names by the end of our night.

Best Mussels on the UES!!!

by uptownga

Went to Mustang last Friday nite and had a great experience! We sat in the outside cafe with only a ten minute wait. My date and I ordered margaritas and mussels, which were outstanding! We were only planning on having appetizers, but our server described such wonderful entrees we had to stay. We were definitely satisfied and will come back for a second date!

Poor Service

by nychic77

If you like to be chased out of a restaurant by a low class waitress asking why her tip is not 20%, than Mustang is the place for you. After waiting more than 15 minutes for our order to be taken and then having the waitress not know how to make certain drinks, our party of 7 was obviously dissatisified. 1 round was enough! We were outside not even 2 minutes when the waitress stormed out of this over-priced Taco Bell to accuse us of being disgusting for not leaving enough tip. To top it off, she threw the money back at us (literally). The drinks were over-priced and that coupled with her extreme rudeness warranted the $1.61 tip. Spare yourself the aggrivation and avoid Mustang.

Cons: service, service, service
