Kuzma C Dvm - Chili Animal Care

I had recently moved to the area when my cat got sick with a lodged hairball. My regular vet is 14 hours away. My in-laws are clients of Chili Animal Care and recommended them to me. When I called to make an appointment for my cat, I was asked the names of my in-laws and had to provide the name of their dog (as if to prove that they were indeed clients). After I happily provided this information, I was told by a gatekeeping receptionist that Chili Animal Care was not taking patients that "had problems." This infuriated me as I expected a veterinary hospital to be concerned about the welfare of a beloved pet, especially one that needed help. And believe me, a hairball is not an abnormal condition for a cat. When I asked what other veterinary hospitals they might recommend, I was told by the receptionist, who lacked any compassion, that "there are lots of vets in the area- just look one up." So I did, and I gladly went elsewhere.

We've had to have both a rabbit and more recently, our cat, put to sleep once their illnesses became untreatable and their suffering so saddening. In both cases, we've gone to Chili Animal Care. Their warmth, concern, and follow-up mail of sincere feeling for our heartfelt sorrow was greatly appreciated. They have cared for our show dogs for years, and we can highly recommend them.

I had one of their vets (Dr. Mandzak) fill in for my regular vet recently. I was a little put off that my vet was absent, since I had a sick cat, but Dr. Mandzak was clearly SO knowledgeable about cats that she put me completely at ease, and even taught me a few things I hadn't noticed about my own animals. Now I wish she was closer, because I'd love to go there on a regular basis.

We have been with Chili Animal Care since 1972. I would not take my dog anywhere else. Lexie is now 9 years, and before her was Midnite (died at age 12 years - 1999) and Bippy (died at age 16 years-1983). Their care was outstanding and compassionate. A letter was sent after each of the first two died signed by all the employees. I have not found one person there who is not courteous, friendly and extremely caring. Love the vets at Chili Animal....Most of the staff is friendly, their is an older woman that answers the phones and works the front desk that is very rude and condescending,other than her everyone else is great!

I have used Chili Animal Care for many years and have always been very pleased with the services. We have a lot of experience w/ Dr. Kuhn, who is excellent, but we'd also recommend any of the vets. They are so kind and caring - even sending a sympathy card after we had to bring our cat in for an emergency and had to put him to sleep.

We have a cat and a dog. When we bring our dog he is shy for about three minutes and then warms up to them very quickly, but every time there is a women there, usually she is cashing us out so I don't think her position is too high there, who makes me feel horrible about my dog being shy. And every time I have to tell her, he needs to get used to you, then he'll be fine. But every time she makes me feel like I am horrible because as she suggested, " I am not letting my dog interact with others, mind you I come from a large family and the majority of my siblings have animals my dog plays with daily. Besides her, I love the Vets. They always make me feel better after I have interacted with that woman. Both my animals are cared for very well and the vets treat your animal like it's their own. My dog gets excited whenever he sees the vet! I recommend this vet to others, but I always warn about that woman.

We have had our 2 cats spayed here. Their prices were about 50 -75 dollars cheaper than our vet at the time was. They did not mind the fact that we only needed them for the spaying and were not going to continue with them for shots, etc. However, they told us that we were welcome anytime if we needed any of their services.

My family has used them for years. Located about 10 miles SW of the 490 expressway. Prices are competitve. The care we've received for our pets has been appreciated!
