I come here on the regular, this is without a doubt the best pizza out there. The crust is so crispy, the sauce is slammin and the cheese..You can tell they use quality ingriedents in their pizza. If your on the fence, don't be, you won't be disappointed at all! I wish there was just more locations!

I first heard about Lombardi's when they opened in Philadelphia. Went there one night and saw the line and decided it was not worth it. I was wrong.
My wife and I were in NYC last month and decided to see what the big deal was.
There are no words to describe the pizza. There should be a different word for what we get here and what you get there.
We had the bruschetta appetizer (my wife does not like bruschetta) and my wife did not leave a bit of it on the plate.
We each ordered a small pie with different toppings and it was simply the best pizza I ever had in my life.
The prices were cheap considering what we paid for some meals in NYC that did not compare to this.
Bottom line;
Worth the wait, more than worth the cost.

As out of towners, we make a point of coming here whenever we're in NYC. They have expanded the restaurant and the expanded area is very nice, the older area is quite crowded. We always get the pepperoni pizza because the pepperoni is nothing I've ever tasted before. Service can be a bit slow, but the wait is soooo worth it. What can I say, I would recommend this to everyone!

Although this has been brought to the attention of the management on several occasions and they have brought it to the attention of their staff, nothing has been done about the situation.

A single star is too much for a dangerious place like this.

On any given night Lombardi's will have 3-7 bicycle delivery people out making deliveries. Ever wonder who those cyclists were riding on sidewalks, through red lights or nearly hitting you as you are in the crosswalk and they go the wrong direction?

Donned with reflective safety vests and blue te shirts with the Lombardi's name clearly written across the front and back, these cyclists break every law in an effort to get that pizza to you.

When management has been informed they speak to the delivery person and nothing changes.

I no longer give business to companies that willfully allow staff to endanger the public.

Think about this the next time a delivery cyclist nearly hits you in order to make their timely delivery.

I love this place, every time someone new comes into town, This is one of the first stops I like to take them too. It's what people think of when they think of "NY Pizza".

I only wish they start using creditcards, because it does get a little annoying having to stop by the local ATM and get cash all the time.

Any travel sites about NYC, Lombardi's is a highly recommended place to go. Featured at Food Network, Travel Channel, etc, so my family gave it a try. While waiting we overheard a group of people that just came out of the restaurant said that the pizza taste horrible. So we thought....hmmm we'll find out. Got called, seated, ordered, and to our surprise the taste of the Pizza is not what we have expected - no taste! Just confirms what we overheard. It's a tourist trap!!!! Will not go back again. There are MANY other pizza places around NYC better and reasonably priced than Lombardi's.

Okay, first off a warning isn't always a bad thing.

Lombardi's has to be a gift from a higher being. But beware that once you've eaten at this place, no other pizza is the same. Take your favorite pizza place before and you can compare that to licking a cat's litter box. I'm actually afraid; the next time I order pizza, it's going to be a day from hell. I wish I was exaggerating, but the fact of the matter is that I have been ruined.

Seriously this pizza is good! I ordered a couple pizza pies and both were phenomenal. The toppings were top quality, the sauce didn't overwhelm the crust, the toppings or the cheese... absolute perfect balance. This is the way a pizza should be made, with every aspect complimenting the other in harmony. Some people want thick bready crust, some want sauce dripping out of every bite; this is all well and fine for a cheap delivery pizza on a binge drinking beer bong crazed "I don't care about flavor!" kind of night. But, Lombardi's is the place to go for quality tasted in every bite, the kind of flavor that will force your eye lids open and all those little hairs on the back of your neck shooting up.

It's like winning the flavor lottery with every bite. So head to 32 Spring st. next time you're in Manhattan. Change your view of pizza... forever. You've been warned.

Sorry to be so down on this place. Its just that I've had way better pizza at a few different places in NYC. This place was touted as one of the finest and even got good ZAGAT ratings. The pizza though was pretty bland with a sauce that was bitter tasting. Maybe traditional pizza has its place (somewhere) but as far as NYC style pizza...this one earned the YUK award. Ray's pizza on 11th St & 6 Ave is a great tasting pizza that caters more to the NYC taste. They have many original Rays Pizza but to me, the Original Ray's is is the one! I've going to Rays in the Village for over 40 years. Don't bother getting any toppings..the plain old cheese will convince you. I'll never eat at Lombardi's. Lombardi's: thumbs down!

I went here because I had a friend visiting from out of town.

The waitress was covering the whole dining room by herself, which made the service very slow. We ordered the bread basket app and it tasted terrible. They told us that we couldnt order a caeser salad because of Ecoli.

Go for pizza, nothing else.

After living in NYC for 4 years, I finally made it to Lombardi's! I was a little afraid this is a tourist trap but since I was nearby, I figured why not. One less to do list on my bucket list.

So their menu is simple and straightforward. They have small and large sizes of pies and then you can choose your own toppings.

We ordered the large pie with 3 toppings, pepperoni, meatball and garlic spinach. It came about 20 minutes after we ordered but it was worth waiting for!

The pie crust is crunchy and chewy at the same time. The toppings work well together with the mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce and I just couldn't stop eating!

I am glad i came on a week night when I don't have to fight with tourists; what a great pizza to try.

The pizza here is excellent, both the white and the regular with different toppings. We tried the clam pie as well - it was passable or maybe we were already too full to really appreciate it.

The place is packed. So packed that you spend an average of 40 minutes just waiting for a table to open up. But there is no place to wait except outside. Once inside, it's really nothing special, actually on the dreadful and gloomy side. For the price, one would like a better atmosphere. But the service is quick and the food is good.

Lombardi's is at the top of my list of places to bring out- of-towners. Their impressive claim of being the "First Pizzeria in the United States" definitely has a nice ring to it! The wait to get in can be long so put your name on the list and take a nice stroll around the neighborhood while you wait. Rice to Riches across the street is a nice timesaver pre-Lombardi's or post-Lombardi's for dessert. I really like their standard fresh mozzarella pizza especially since it was my first taste into the fresh mozzarella/tomato/basil pizza world. We used to have these pizzas delivered to work down on Fulton Street as part of our weekly lunch. A few of my friends are Grimaldi's die-hards but I think it's also because they're biasedly Brooklyn.

Ok, the pizza is not that good. And im not just bitter, it really isnt that good. Nick's pizza in Forest Hills is very similar in style, but much better, and nowhere near as pricey.

It does not look authentic inside, and the staff is completely average.

Most importantly, its way overpriced, because of all the random hype and tourists.

We were doing a self-guided walking tour of Little Italy when we happened across Lombardi's. Several people had pointed out that it was the standard for NYC Neapolitan pizza so we stopped in.

We ordered the standard, a Margherita pizza. It arrived and was indeed wonderful! The crust was nice and thin and the mozzarella tasted amazing. We could see why Lombardi's has been around for so long - they really know what they're doing with pizza.

Long known for being the best pizza in town, Lombardi's has had a great run. While the location is perfect in SoHo, the place has seen better days. We worked up an appetite after being led through 3 rooms only to be seated at a table that resembled all the other empty ones we passed. We had house wine and sausage pizza which were both not very memorable. The scene wasn't very exciting as each table had at least one person on their blackberry, clearly not so taken with their meal. And of course, as typical NY'ers we were bummed about the no credit card rule.Overall a disappointing night- hoping the recipe gets better as it has such potential.

I have been going to Lombardi's for a few years....and it's absolutely, hands down the best brick oven pizza I have ever had!!

I have noticed that the newcomers don't always know what to order...so if you're a meat lover then order the following:

Double meatballs, pepperoni, sausage, onions, fresh garlic!!!! Make it a large pie and take the rest home if there's any left!!

I do miss, the baked clams they once had! They were also the best, but sad they took it off the menu!!

I love it and will continue to visit often!! :)

I absolutely love pizza. So, naturally, when I was going to Manhattan for the very first time I wanted to try the NYC style pizza. Everyone that has ever been to NYC has always told me about this place. And let me tell you, it lived up to the hype and then some. The pizza was awesome. I am going back to NYC this December and already I cannot wait to go back to Lombardi's! Only two months away! Hahaha.

BEST. PIZZA. EVER. PERIOD.

i remember lombardi's when it was small and quaint. now it's huge. the waitresses wear madonna-like microphones, and while escorting you to your table repeat a thousand times "watch your step!" because they expanded into an adjoining building and the floors don't align from the new area to the original area.
the food took a long time to come out. our clam pizza still tasted good but it was lukewarm - not hot.
all of the waitresses had light brown hair and all looked like they came from ireland, nothing italian about that!
when it's time to leave, they start screaming again "this way out!", treating you like a baby. guess they don't want to say watch your step again, so they found a shortcut outta dere.
A CIRCUS ATMOSPHERE OF THE BAD KIND.

go to lazzara in the garment center. yummmmm.

Came to know of Lombardi's from the Travel Channels. Arrived at Lombardi's at 3:00 p.m. on 7/26/2009. At the door there was a gentleman or a greater that not even did he did not said good afternoon welcome to Lombardis all that was saided how many are you and the waiting time was less than fifteen minutes. After five minutes the gentleman keeps calling Garcia party of five for about four times noticing the waiter taken care of us. when thru the kitchen then a stair in which is an air condiction balcony facing apartments and backyard i was not fund of. The waiter was pretty nice all the not very familiar with Lombardi's menu. Waitress did not even introduced herself all she said welcome to Lombardi's may I take your ordered. Lombardi's was ok even the we ate a 18" and 14" pie overall pizza was great. The only problem is that Lombardi's do not have a baby changing table nor they take credit card I found that very inconvenience. I would love to come back to Lombardi's with a couple of friend from Aventura, Florida......

Pros: Great location in the city

Cons: No Parking, and No Credit Card "Cash Only"

.

This is the best Pizza in NYC and possibly, anywhere. If you love pizza you have to go here.

I don't know why this place gets so many stars. It's nothing short of a standard pizza. So it has a little bit of history being the first pizzeria in NYC. great. But guess what, this isn't even the original location. It was originally a few shops down. Anyway, i digress. The pizza here is what i'm suppose to discuss. Its dry. dry dry dry. I also question the quality of the dough. I think i;ve had better pre-made frozen pizza from whole foods on Houston St.

A couple months prior to visiting New York from Cleveland, my girlfriend and I decided that checking out an authentic pizza parlor was on our "to do" list. After seeing this place on the Food Network -we decided to check out Lombardi's. We did not want to read or receive any reviews so we would not be disappointed if it came back negative.

This place lived up to the hype. We arrived on the first day of our trip... it was a rainy Thursday night. We couldn't see much of the neighborhood because of the torrential downpour -but Little Italy was much smaller than I thought.

When we walked in, the restaurant was packed, but it gave you the feel of a true New York pizza joint. The bar was really crowed and we were told we would have to wait 30 minutes -but it was much closer to 10. We sat down and was immediately asked and served our bottle of wine. They don't have a crazy selection, but perfect for this type of place.

The salads came out quickly and were delicious. I was shocked at how fast the pizza came out as well. They brought it out pepperoni, sausage and mushroom and it was a work of art! The large was a nice size, the crust was perfect and the sauce and toppings were phenomenal. It was some of the best pizza we've had and it surprisingly lived up to the hype.

The only potential negative is that although I would say the service was pretty good -they did make you feel rushed. We were definitely ok with that and it's part of the whole experience, but just set the expectation that it's not a place you hang out at for two hours and I'm sure they are looking to turn the tables over quickly to limit waits. Soak it up while you can!

Overall the experience was great! We went to fine dining places the rest of the trip which were all excellent, but we loved this place and considered it the highlight of our meals. It wasn't too pricey. I would say slightly high for pizza, but overall a great value and well worth it! We'd return!

By far the best pizza anywhere!! The Sangria was great too! Worth the short subway ride from Times Sqaure. Wish we were a little bit closer than Baltimore but definitely going to become a tradition everytime we visit the big city. Lombardi's is by far the best authentic italian pizza!

I have not been here in a little over a year and I am not sure what happened since. The space has expanded since the original but the food has definitely changed. The pizza was dry and the dough almost tasted not fresh. The crust used to be thick and doughy like a loaf of freshly cooked brick oven bread, now by the time you get to the crust it is hard as a rock. The sauce and cheese used-to ooze off the pizza and now you can actually count the number of round slices of mozzarella on an entire pie. It was actually hard to get a knife through the pizza. I looked around at the other tables and everyone?s pizza looked exactly a-like so I couldn?t even say they over cooked my pie. Pizza is my favorite food and this place used to be my #1. This place is good for tourists but I would not recommend this place for some one who wants to experience good New York pizza -Stick to patsy?s under the Bklyn Bridge or a regular $2 slice somewhere else. I was extremely disappointed and probably would never go back.

I took my family to NYC for the first time for the Columbus Day weekend. We read about this restaurant and decided to try it out. What a great experience we all had. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. We're a pizza loving family and we couldn't have been more pleased with what we ordered. We had the white cheese pizza and a plain cheese pizza and they were both outstanding! We were absolutely spoiled and won't be able to eat pizza again without comparing it to what we had Saturday night at this restaurant. It's a must place to eat while in the city. We had about a 1/2 hour wait which wasn't bad for a Sat. night. We will definitely eat here again the next time I drag the family back to NYC... Which won't be hard considering the wonderful time we had last weekend!

I had heard of a place in Brooklyn with good pizza and we went and it was very good. But I was also told about Lombardi's being the best, so we decided to give it a try and now I will never eat ANY other pizza! We got the original and you could tell the mozzarella was fresh...NO GREASE! The crust was perfect, the sauce was to die for...PERFECTION! It was worth the trip and worth the wait. It would be a sin to visit NYC and not go to Lombardi's, the best pizza on the PLANET!! The service was great and we got our pizza very quickly. Don't waste your time with other pizzerias make a beeline to Lombardi's!

What an experience. My wife and I went to Lombardi?s last Saturday night, and that was our only mistake, because the restaurant was fully packed. We got a pitcher of homemade sangria, so after that the time passed quickly. After 45 min our name was called, and we were seated downstairs in the wine cellar, which wasn?t that crowded. We had the Caesar salad for a start off, and the dressing was really tasty. You also can buy a jar of the pizza sauce or some dressing for the salads. We expected to wait for the pizza, but the service was extremely fast. Our waitress Julie was amazing. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and with great attitude. She recommended the original Margarita pizza since this was our first visit to Lombardi?s. That thin crust pie came out from coal burning oven, just like we like, crispy with large globs of freshly sliced and full flavored mozzarella. The second pie, again with Julie?s suggestion, half pepperoni & ricotta and half meatballs & spinach, was just incredible. This is absolutely BEST pizza crust in New York City, and the service was awesome. We very much enjoyed being there.
