I like the surroundings and history, where you can learn. Very educational. Makes sense and has a point. Teaches you what these people went through in the holocaust, and how lucky you are to have yoru freedom today. You see how these people suffered. Even better than the one in Washington D.C. I cried mye yes out and went through three tissues when I was here with my school group.

Pros: Teaches you history about Jewsssss

Cons: You may get sad or even cry at worst

The Museum of Jewish Heritage is located in downtown Battery Park which is where the new National Museum of the American Indian is located.

This museum serves as a remembrance of the Holocaust. It had opened in 1997 so it is a relatively new museum. The museum is surrounded by a beautiful garden, that gets only more beautiful in the spring.

When you are in the museum, it is very easy to get lost because of the passageways. However, you would forget about this after looking at the amazing exhibits. The Jewish Museum covers much of the history of Judaism and you can see all aspects of life within the museum.

One entire floor of the museum is for the Holocaust exhibition, which can be very graphic for the children.

On a recent Sunday afternoon, I tried to visit this museum. It was not a Jewish holiday nor the Sabbath or any other holiday. It was just closed. There was no sign explaining why it was closed but a police officer said that the museum was closed for a private concert and he suggested that we come back another time. If this is a public, non-profit, tax-exempt institution, should/could it also be a private club?

Cons: randomly closed, out of the way
