I look forward to San Gennaro every year just for this pizza...until I realized, of course, that I could go here all year round. I live for this vodka slice - it jazzes up a traditional marinara slice with a slightly creamy and much to my delight, sliiiiightly spicy vodka sauce that just brings pizza to a whole new level. Mmm, thinking about it now makes me hungry..and I just got back from lunch!

My fiance and I were in town for just a few days...and before we left we HAD to have some good New York style pizza. The hotel concierge recommended Lombardi's, so we jumped on a subway down to little Italy. Unfortunately, the line at Lombardi's was unreal...and at 20 degrees...we just wanted to sit down inside somewhere and eat. We went to Pomodoro's which was one block over and was seated almost immediately. We ordered hot wings and a large pizza. They brought us regular wings with hot sauce sprinkled over them and the carrots were drenched in hot sauce also (who eats carrots w/ hot sauce???). The pizza was not good at all...so we didnt even bother taking the five slices we had left over. By the time we left we understood why everyone was stuffed in Lombardi's and Pomodoro's was only moderatly busy. We have had better New York style pizza in Atlanta, Georgia. We will never go back. .

This review was based on a slice of pizza I had at Pomodoro.

I would not venture back to Pomodoro for any reason. I have spent my entire life in NYC and that was the worst pizza I have ever had. It was a reheated slice of pizza. Reheated pizza is common for places that sell pizza by the slice. I have no problems with that. I actually enjoy reheated pizza and grew up on reheated pizza. The sauce on my pizza was pretty much nonexistent and the cheese was unbearable. I am not sure if the cheese was real or imitation. The crust was ok. The sausage on the pizza was perfectly fine though. To be fair, perhaps other items on the menu may taste better. I love food and believe in second chances, but I was not impressed enough with this place to ever return.

Cons: taste of pizza was not favorable; service was cold and inconsistent between patrons

I very much enjoyed my ravioli filled with pesto in vodka sauce -- to die for. Garlic bread was excellent. Free salad was a nice surprise.

My friend, who recommended the restaurant because she had a prior satisfying experience, was also very happy with her classic pizza dish. I thanked her numerous times for recommending Pomodoro to me.

I will go again and am this week. This time I will introduce it to another friend.

Remember to stop by Rice to Riches, just a block away, for a supreme dessert experience.

Pros: Great food and service.

Cons: Nothing I can think of.

The food was excellent and the portions were very good. The sevice was attentive. The cost was reasonable and the restarant has a casual, comfortable atmophere. The Italian menu items we tried were excellent. Try the hot applitizer, you won't be dissapointed.

Located on the corner for Spring and Mulberry street, Pomodoro is a disapointment.
Considering the location near the heart of little Italy, this pizza place is below typical among other resturants in the general New York Metropolitan area. Pomodoro is not a special place, but maybe for a quick lunch if you work around the area.
The pizza was soggy and was baked with a large amount of toppings. The reason why my Margarita slice toppings was falling on top of my wet paper plate.
The service was not on time, and the waitress was not helpful or positive in regards to her atitude towards my group.

Pro: Possible room for improvements, and the choice of dishes. I will have to visit later to try a hot dish. This review was based on the pizza and the service.

Cons: Service was not nice, and the portions on the pizza needs work.

My sisters and I shopped all day and wanted a place that was quick, economical and not to formal. We came upon a corner pizzeria. We were not expecting much, other than the usual. We were more than impressed. The lobster, pesto ravioli's were excellent !! The pizza was out of this world ! The beer was ice cold ! What more can one expect from a pizzeria !

Sadly this was one of my first New York pizzas. Pretty average. Whatever, could do without. Especially since there are tons of better places all over New York and it doesn't take long to get anywhere. I guess some people like average. I don't. Oh well.

Pros: Cheap, fast, good if you like something you have had before 1,000 times and don't care to have again I guess some like redundency

Cons: Just nothing secial. Just... a waste of time. Go down one block to Lombardis I guess.

My husband and I are huge Italian food fans, so we seek out restaurants all over the world. This one always has us coming back for more.

Small and cramped, Pomodoro (located on the corner of Spring and Mulberry) offers tasty homestyle food. Nothing fancy, just good chow-down food.

Sit down for a plate of their hearty gooey lasagna or, if you are on the run, grab a wedge of their delicious take-out pizza pie.

The house Chianti is excellent, too.

Pomodoro, in Little Italy, is a must -stop on a New York trip.

The best part about the pizza at this place is the toppings that they have. While the dough and the crust here is pretty standard, they make some really fresh toppings. My favorites are the fresh tomato and basil or the marinated peppers and vegetables. I'm not much into pepperoni or sausage, but my friends say that it is ok here. As the previous reviewer noted, you can eat outside, which in the spring time is pretty fun. Service her is pretty fast and they rush you a bit when there's a line.

Just moved to the area and fell in love with the food. Brought the kids one night around 9ish, ordered and at 1020 I inquired about our order. I was told that they were closing when I walked in yet no one told me that. The entire staff was hanging out in the kitchen and they all looked like they were under the influence of something. The staff was rude and obnoxious.

I'm from Chicago originally so it was hard to part with "Chicago style pizza", but Pomodoro's made my transition SO easy. From the first bite of their famous Vodka Sauce pizza, I was hooked. I turned all my friends on to this little place, and now they are hooked too. I have tried their other pizza varieties, and they good too, but nothing special. The Vodka Sauce slice is their homerun! The crust is my favorite combo of chewy and crispy. The vodka sauce is bursting with chunky tomato flavor-plus-it is actually a little spicy! A nice little unexpected suprise. Try it, you'll love it. For ambience, it's not that great inside, but if you snag a plastic table and chair outside, you will have great people-watching all evening. Just don't crowd the joint, you have to save room for the locals!

The pizza here are one of the best in the area. Quick and good service. There are seatings outdoor. The staff are great. The pizza is fresh and the price is good. Location wise, it is very easy to find, right off the 6 train. They have a good selection of appetizers and pasta. The drinks though, ask for no ice. Pizza crust is crispy.

I was recently packing for a trip when the business card I had picked up at Pomodoro fell out of the bag. I was instantly carried back to memories of the best soup I have ever eaten outside of my own kitchen. Forget the Soup Nazi, because the best soup in NYC is at Pomodoro.

It sounds odd, but once you try the Vodka pie you will become a believer. I skip all the other tourist traps along Mulberry, and head straight to Pomodoros for my favorite speciality pie in the city. The servers are always very pleasant and the portions beside the pizza are always a good size.

THe only complaint is the bathroom is pretty tiny (airplane tiny).

I'm a student and my mom was visiting me up here from Texas for spring break. We were doing the SOHO, Little Italy thing and I started feeling really ill, so we decided to go back to the hotel. On the way to the subway, we passed Pomodoro and decided to get some soup, to go. I ate my Pasta Fagioli back at the hotel and I started feeling better. I don't know if it was the taste, the comfort of fresh soup or what, but it was wonderful. You should take orders to ship your soup or open a branch in Austin, because Texas could use food like this.

My girlfriend and I were visiting NY this summer from San Diego, and we stumbled across this place while bouncing around SOHO and Little Italy. We were ready for lunch and decided to try it out. Was I glad we did! This place had it all, quaint atmosphere, friendly and charismatic staff, and amazing pizza! Try the mussels al la vodka, and by all means get some slices (my favorite was the fresh mozarella!). We liked it so much we made a special trip back on our last day of the trip! Cheers to Pomodorro!

My friend and I were on our way over to Lombardi's one saturday night, but the line was much too long. We walked over to Pomodoro, and decided to eat there instead. It turned out to be an awesome tme. The Pizza was great, and the service was even better. Our waitress, Chen (pronounced "Hen") was funny, witty and charming. She is almost always there, so ask to sit at one of her tables if you you go.

After visiting some of the more well-known pizzerias, I stumbled upon Pomodoro's when I was walking through Little Italy. I was thrilled that my boyfriend and I could enjoy a pizza, salad and soda for $13. It was an amazing deal after I had been shocked by the $2 Cokes elsewhere. The service was great, out waiter was so friendly. I highly recommend the garlic bread with cheese. You'll love it

AWESOME. Why would anyone wait to eat at burned-crust Lombardi's when Pomodoro's is 50 feet away with tastier pizza? Vodka Sauce, Brick Oven and Fresh Mozzerella slices are the way to go. Service for a slice is a little sluggish, waitresses are good.

Okay, so it's not the *best* pizza in NY, but it is good for a quick mid-day snack while shopping around Nolita. The pizza is decent, the fare is simple. The service? ...could use some work. We waited 45 minutes (yes 45minutes) for a chicken roll...they said it was baking, but I at 12pm, the baking should be done and ready to heat & serve, don't you think? Cute outside tables to ppl watch
