Jeremy cut my curly hair, and it has never looked better. He has a special method, used by all hair stylists here, whereby cuts are suited to the shape of your skull. My curly hair falls really nicely, the layers are amazing. He is so reasonably priced too, $65.

I also had the Keratin straightening treatment, which will be available in January, and it has defrizzed and silkened my hair tremendously. My curls are smoother and better defined.

Truly an amazing salon.

Impeccable attention to detail and service! The salon was extremely warm, inviting, and the staff was professional but friendly. Had color correction by Mary and a cut by Bushi both very knowledgeable and would highly recommend them :)

Sam Brocato is a salon where I finally felt comfortable to cut my hair. I met with Bushi earlier today and explained to him that I wanted to cut my hair short but I was afraid. He reassured me that short hair would look great and my cut came out AMAZING! I would highly recommend Bushi and the salon to anyone. The service was amazing and staff was extremely friendly!!

When I called the salon, I requested someone who knew about curly hair. I really am never happy with my hair. Yesterday, Lisa Lord did my hair. She was very friendly, gregarious, and easy going. She took time to talk to me about my hair, and really seemed to know what she was doing and made me completely comfortable and hopeful that *this* cut would be different than previous cuts. I have yet to wash my hair, but I doubt that when I do tonight, I will be disappointed.

Generally the price would be 128 for a hair cut with her. I had a groupon so the salon was very affordable for me this time. For NYC, 128 is still a pretty good price for a good hair cut in a nice salon, I think. I would definitely go back to see her (if I can afford it!)

Just found out about this salon and went in on the recommendation of a friend for a total makeover. I'm so glad I did, because I LOVE this place! From the front desk to every staff member I encountered - all were friendly and accommodating. I felt relaxed and at ease the entire time. And, best of all, I received a fabulous haircut and hair color for which I've received numerous compliments. I can honestly say that I've never been happier with a salon. I highly recommend!

The hair dressers have a following and are well practiced but the place is in a basement and smells very strongly like sewage.

From start to finish I was made to feel at home. From the front desk to my colorist, Ann, to meeting Mr. Brocato as I was leaving. It is the warmest, friendliest salon you could ever find in New York. My color was flawless and I have received so many compliments. I can't wait to go back! They are consummate professionals and better yet, know how to treat their clients. This was the best salon experience I have ever had.

The uniqueness of this salon is in its unwavering attention to what the client really wants and needs. I have seen several stylists and colorists there (a function of schedule, not dissatisfaction) and every one of them has been terrific. The cuts here last a long time; my pedicure lasts three weeks or more. The little perks the salon offers are also lovely - computers available while you wait, fresh fruit, brownies, thoughtfully selected magazines, occasional give-away contests and special events, and staff who remember who you are and what you like. And I appreciate that there does not seem to be a distinction between the service that is offered celebrities and other customers - everyone is treated well here. Warm, competent, fun all at once - it's really New York at its best!

Computers available for Clients' use. Nice music. Refreshments and treats provided. And as many ladies know who get their hair colored and cut, it could be a time-consuming process but at Sam Brocato Salon, their process is seamless (from the colorist to the hair stylist) - never a wait. I LOVE this place !

Lisa gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever had.

No matter what i do my hair looks good, mainly because the bangs I have are amazing. I feel and look younger and have had more younger men comment on my hair than I ever had.

Last week, I had extensions put in my hair for the third time at Sam Brocato. After being fed up at looking at other women?s beautiful heads of hair day in and day out, I booked a consultation with Jason Wilkerson for extensions last summer. I?ve always had to wear my hair up because I had such little hair and it always looked stringy and thin. Without sounding vain, I had major self esteem issues as a result of my hair. I have bought every hair thickening product marketed but always resorted to putting my hair back up in a ponytail because I was embarrassed at the little amount of hair I had . In the consultation, Jason examined my head / hair to ensure I was a good candidate for the extensions (thankfully, I was). He took the time to patiently answer my many, many questions and explained how to care for the extensions. I went back a week later and after about 1.5 hours, I emerged from the salon with what a full head of hair.

For the first time in my life, I don?t cringe when I am getting ready in the morning and doing my hair. Thanks to Jason, I can wear my hair down without feeling self conscious. I?ve had other girlfriends who have had extensions but you could tell as the stylist did a poor job putting them in. In contrast, no one has ever suspected I have had extensions. I?ve received numerous compliments on my hair (most of my friends have never seen me with my hair down) and feel great about how it looks. Gone are the days of looking longingly at other women?s heads of hair.

If you?re feeling self conscious of your thin hair or even just want a little thickening, I highly recommend booking a consultation with Jason. He?s sensitive to women?s relationship to their looks / hair and will be honest with you about what he can do for you. I can genuinely say that I have never felt better about myself, I owe a lot of that to Jason.

I recently visited the Sam Brocato Salon for Great Lengths hair extensions with Jason after extensive research. I'd been dying to have extensions put in my hair for years but was never ready to make the financial commitment that comes with such a process. I'd researched all different types of extensions and learned that Great Lengths is the most natural looking and best for your hair, leaving NO damage upon removal. While the service is on the pricey side, it is WELL worth it. I had a consultation with Great Lengths specialist, Jason Wilkerson, before the big day. He talked me through the entire process and chose the correct shades of hair to blend into mine. The hair was ordered and it shipped within days, so I was able to have the extensions put in just a few days after my consultation. I wanted to add several inches of length to my hair, as well as thickness, since my hair has always been fine, stringy and lacking body. Great Lengths has transformed my hair. Not only is it long, but it is SOOO thick and natural looking. The entire process took around 3 hours. Jason was so quick, precise, and delightful! He happens to have an impressive celebrity clientele (who knew!), and I believe he is the best kept secret in New York City. While I thought the process would be long and grueling, it was completely painless. I had a relaxing time at the salon with the friendly, professional, and accommodating staff. I've had my extensions for about a month now and I'm obsessed! The upkeep is fairly simple--my daily wash/condition and blowdry is the same, now I just have to brush my hair out a few times a day to prevent matting. Instead of dreading doing my hair in the morning, I'm actually excited to get up and do it. My hair even looks great in a ponytail. I've never received more compliments in my life. Thanks to Jason, I will never have to live with thin hair again! My Great Lengths have changed my Life!

I had a great experience at Sam Brocato recently. Jeremy was a pleasure and gave a great, simple cut. When I first walked in they offered me a drink and, while I declined, I noticed one of the options was wine - nice touch!

The room itself is very spacious which allowed this cramped New Yorker to sit back, relax and breathe!

I would definitely recommend this salon.

I had been stalling to switch hair salons into NYC since I moved here a few years ago and continued to go out to NJ to get my hair done b/c of the ridiculous prices salons charge here but finally gave in and was recommended I go here by a couple friends - I have to say now I have finally found my NYC salon :)

I first checked the website - which is so user friendly and you can even book your appointment online which I loved - and the prices are so reasonable!!! I get a partial highlight and cut every time and it wasn't that much more expensive than my old place. I was recommended to go to Ann for my color and Sarah for my cut. Both of them were great! They made me feel so comfortable and welcome to the salon and actually listened to what I was saying about what I wanted to achieve.
From the internet access while you wait, to the wine, and then the neck massage to start off with, everything is well worth it.
Sarah also suggested I use some new shampoos and conditioners -which I purchased I and they were also VERY reasonable ($15 each). She even gave me a sample of something else we had been talking about to try. I also happend to meet Sam and his wife while I was there and they are both very pleasant people and not uptight or pretentious at all - like some salon owners.
Basically - this was a great experience - from booking to walking out of the salon. Quick tip - make your appointment for a week day or night - when the salon is slower than the weekend so you can really enjoy it - mine was on a Tuesday nigth and there were maybe 4 other people there and it was great to relax.

I walk by this salon all the time and kept telling myself I needed to stop in. Well, I am glad I trusted my instincts! I
I got a haircut from Jeremy and it was unlike anything I've experienced before. He was truly an artist and I could tell he really cares about his work. My hair looks totally perfect and it is so amazingly easy to do in the morning thanks to his helpful styling tips. Take my advice if your looking for an amazing haircut and a really cool salon don't hesitate to go here!!

I was recommended to to this salon from a friend, and it was AMAZING. My hair was about halfway down my back and I wanted to chop it off, and I'm glad I did! I met with Sam Brocato himself and he recommended a stylist to me since I had never been before. Sarah was sweet and nice. She ACTUALLY listened, gave me advice and then gave me the best haircut ever! My hair is now chin length, cut about 10inches total, and so easy to maintain! Everyone has been asking me where I got my hair cut and I suggest everyone try this salon once, they treat you like superstars with wine, internet, massage and free travel size samples! I will be back no doubt!

love this salon!!! spacious hip and comfortable!! wine and beverages to relax, internet service if you are waiting for color to set, and a super attentive staff. I'm a born n bred NY'er and this place is absolutely the best place ive ever has hair done. I dare anyone to find a better cut thatn with matt-- go ahead... take me up on that and just try it. go get ur hair cut here now!!

I followed Matthew James from his old salon to Oscar Bond because its a fantastic cut! I never worried much about my cut (only color), but now i'm hooked. I've been stopped on the street about where I get my hair done several times. Even when I dont have to time to dry it, it still looks great. I'd follow him to Kansas...

Wendy is a great hair colorist, so I continue to come back here, even though the prices just recently went up about 20% for a hair coloring! I like the space and the majority of people are v. nice. However, my reservations are as follows-
there is one short, brunette, sullen girl who sometimes works as a receptionist, and they should fire her if they haven't yet, she has an unfriendly and unhelpful attitude and projects a bad image for the place.
There was one junior hair colorist I used once when Wendy was not available and she did a lousy job of covering my roots- so much so that I returned for a redo (which was graciously done for free- but it was a pain to come back down).
Sometimes it takes a while for someone to be free to dry my hair after the coloring is done (Wendy doesn't do it herself) and last time it took so long that I finally did it myself because it was making me late. In short, go for Wendy and be happy if you get great service everywhere else (50/50 chance you will).
