New Website

I recently was looking for a rare travel book and that's when I found out that they have a new website address: www.ctrarebooks.com. Otherwise I agree with the previous reviews that state it one of the greatest bookstores.

Great books, knowledgeable staff, support small businesses

The Complete Traveller Antiquarian Bookstore remains one of the truly great stores in New York City. Their extensive collections of travel-related 1st editions and hard-to-find classics are second to none, and I like the fact that they are independent and not a chain a la Borders, B & N, etc. Great place to buy a gift for a scholar or world traveler.
PROS: Selection, new titles all the time
CONS: no 800 #

The Complete Traveller Antiquarian Bookstore has an enormous selection of rare and out of print books about far away cities from years past. A great selection of old travel guides pick up two for the same city 20 years apart and see how quickly things change. This is a very neat store and check there website if you want to see more of what they currently have in stock. The sales person was very nice and patient answering all of my questions.

The Complete Traveller Antiquarian Bookstore is an amazing place. They carry a full line of old travel guides and old maps. They are real experts and can fill in your missing Baedeker's or find a travel guide to 1910 London. They also have a smattering of other rare books including a small but excellent section of children's books and books on New York City. This shop is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for any of this kind of material.
PROS: A wonderful place to shop
CONS: None that are apparent

Complete Traveller Antiquarian Bookstore is the kind of shop you only find in cities like New York and London. Shelf after shelf of long out of print travel guides to destinations all over the world. Before going on a visit to this shop I wondered why would a person collect travel guides but upon perusing a few older ones I quickly realized they offer a wealth of information as to how a society lives. The restaurant menus are a reflection on how the society ate, every restaurant menu from New York in the 1890's advertised Turtle Soup of many varieties try to order that today. Interesting stuff and not to expensive considering the age
PROS: Great selection of interesting books
