Ratings_icons Simply AWESOME

Chris B.

This was my first experience in eating thai food. They were very helpful in explaining what the different types of food were. I really enjoyed the food and even better the service and friendly staff. The value of the meal was great as well.

Ratings_icons Worst experience ever

Jessica K.

The food was terrible, the service was terrible, and the owner was not polite nor does he know a thing about customer service. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Definitely recommend Jasmine or Red Pepper, you'll have a much more enjoyable experience

I've been here a number of times with friends, and have yet to try a dish I haven't enjoyed. The yellow curry sauce is particularly nice, and to make things even better, they're very responsive to requests about the heat level. When you ask for something mild, it actually is mild, and you don't sacrifice any of the flavor. Also, for a nice refreshing change, the Thai iced tea is a must.

There isn't much ambiance, and it easily blends into the strip mall it's in, but the food more then makes up for the simplistic setting. Pricing is also quite reasonable for a night out.

Ratings_icons Some like it Hot

John A.

I know some people don't like hot foods and for those who don't, don't worry, Spicy Thai accommodates everyone's palate. But for those diners who like spice and heat, Spicy Thai is a must!

The difference between Spicy Thai and other Thai restaurants is that their 'heat' also includes flavor - it's not heat just for the hot factor. Try the Spicy Tofu, and make sure to ask for the Chef's private hot sauce -it'll turn your endorphins onto a natural high!

Then, top it all off with their Cinnamon ice cream.

This is a restaurant that brings you a taste of the authentic Thai cuisine - a definite must for those who like to take an adventure in taste!

Ratings_icons A special place for Vegetarians

Armin S.

Fellow vegetarians, make Spicy Thai the next destination on your list of great dining experiences. (And if your friends hapen to be meat lovers, there's plenty for them too!).
The crispy tofu has a texture and flavor like no place else, and when it comes to sauces there is no place else that compares to what I've enjoyed at Spicy Thai. From the sweet and sour Paradise Tofu to their Spicy Tofu, your tastebuds will delight and the variety on this menu. And instead of the Pad Thai dish that all Thai restaurants offer, try their Pad Woon Sen - it's divine!
For desert, their coconut ice cream is homeade - try it with the banana coins. On one occasion they also had a homemade cinnamon ice cream which was incredible!

Ratings_icons Great Food and Varied menu

Glen T.

I highly recommend Spicy Thai for a soul satisfying dining experience! Unlike many other Thai restaurants I've tried in Buffalo, where every dish seems to have the same sauce, Spicy Thai offers unique flavors in every dish. Especially good is their Crazy Noodle dish, and their Gang Kari!

Ratings_icons Disappointing experience!

Anonymous

What a disappointing experience! We really like Thai food and have been to many authentic Thai restaurants in WNY and vicinity. However, our encounter at Spicy Thai was substandard. In particular, the beef in green curry that we ordered was not good and had a polluted smell. It tastes like they have kept the meet uncooked outside for a long time. The beef had a rotten smell and it had spoiled our entire dining experience. We tried our best to communicate this to the servers in a very civilized manner but they were totally unresponsive and outright rude. We quietly paid our bill including for the spoiled dish. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Great food, great prices. Very casual. Definitely worth trying!
I've been to every Thai restaurant in Buffalo and this is not the fanciest place, but the food rates as good if not better than any place in town. Great vegetarian menue!!!! Lemon grass tofu is a must!

Ratings_icons Just no good

Jeremy H. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,580

Well, among the few Thai restaurants in the area, Spicy Thai just isnt that great. The ambiance of the restaurant is not too bad but the prices of the food is just a little over the top. The Thai food is also not the best in town. I would not recommend.

PROS: Ambience
CONS: Prices, Food
