1. I try to attract attention of the OWNERS or the LANDLORD of the 2261, Ocean Ave, apt. 3B, Brooklyn, NY, 11229. And visit me, please! I live there for 9 years and NEVER had a chance to see or to talk with the Landlord. 2. All contacts are going only through Marc Goodman, manager, who is VERY rude, VERY aggressive, yelling, intimidating, putting tenants down, humiliating people living in the building! He does not give Landlords' contacts. That is against the law! Everything what I want is to have contacts with LANDLORD! 3. My own good Bathtub/Shower set was changed for cheap "garbage" set by the manager, without my permission, when I was at work!! Now I try to get the Landlord as it is NOT possible to take shower, NOT to wash out soap from body! 4. If I ask the Super (Jan is his name) of the building to fix anything, I have to call him about 10 times. He tells "I am sick, old, don't feel good, forgot, ...etc" He is not available even 8 members of his family live in a free apartment and sons are registered as Super's workers. 5. Several people smoke marijuana in the building. One of them is the Super's son - Aki. 6. People use fair case to walk up and down at night, smoke in the building. 7. There is not any one camera in the building and people got frauds, false bank credits opened as their mail boxes were robbed and personal information was stolen. 8. Rent Lease is increased for $100 annually even if there was 0% assigned by the NYC. 9. Cracks are in apartment's walls and ceiling are everywhere. Painting, repairing or renovation never were done in my apartment. We moved to the apartment which was just left by previous tenants. 10. It is COLD in the building and in apartments. We do not open windows, which are old and misted. DO YOU STILL WANT TO LIVE IN OUR BUILDING?!?!?!.

AWFUL people, terrible landlord, more like a slum lord. All issues and complaints go ignored, and the best response Ive had was to break my lease and move out. These people, especially Marc Goodman operate ILLEGALLY. It is against New York Codes, Rules and Regulations (NYCRR) and rent stabilization law to operate how they do. No mater how "nice" a apt might look, be aware it was all done with the cheapest of materials, will likely go deteriorate in a few months, and you will never get any help from these people, DO NOT LIVE IN THEIR APARTMENTS! Noise, cockroaches, water leaks and moldy drywall, cracking ceilings, toilets that dont flush right, intermittent hot water, dirty halls and stairwells, bathroom drywall slab "shifting" (more like falling off), tiles falling off, and so much more... sounds like paradise!

These people are the absolute worst on earth. The building that I lived in would have been amazing had they not completely run it into the ground. I lived in my apartment for five years and never saw them even once. We had multiple problems (front door of the building broken, water issues, pipe leaks, broken kitchen sink, vermin, etc.) and called them over and over again with no response. Their lackey, Marc Goodman, is the most awful human being I have ever dealt with and he is unresponsive and unprofessional. To make matters worse, they lost my rent checks on multiple occasions and at one point actually brought eviction proceedings against me. This was despite the fact that I called them many times to ask why they had not yet cashed my rent checks. Please do not rent from these people. I plan to report them to the NYC Building Department, Housing Department, and Department of Health, as well as the Better/Business/Bureau, and I suggest everyone else do the same.

And naturally I have the same complaints that some others have posted including repairs and serious noise issues. I got tired of their shenanigans, BS, and complete negligence. I had to get an attorney and start fighting for my rights. It took a few months to find a good one that was affordable but I did. I wonder if there are enough of us for a class action law suit! My attorney, by the way, is Mark. K Lindenberg of Goldberg, Scudieri, Lindenberg & Block in midtown - (212) 921-1600.

PS: If Galster is playing stupid games with your rent check, use your bank's online bill pay instead. And if you're paying "market rent," definitely check the rent history on your apartment with the DHCR. I've been in this building many years before Galster took it over. Many of the new people coming in are paying double and triple the last recorded rent. Don't let them get away with any of it.

They are a bunch of incompetent criminals. Every action with them is a fight. The building is in need of endless repairs, the apartment is in need of endless repairs, things hardly ever get fixed and if they do...the job is not properly done. They hire useless superintendants. They EVICT without proper notice. They misplace rent checks. They charge you for their mistakes. Everyone working at the company is an idiot.

Stay away.

In fact, all their tenants should get together and seize control of the buildings they own.

I won't give too many details for fear of retribution, but in short, don't expect any service and most importantly, watch out for this idiot Mark, a very small man, literally and metaphorically speaking, who will try to play tough. I can only assume he got his a*s kicked on a daily basis growing up and is venting his frustrations on us poor tenants. Know your rights and withhold rent if they are unresponsive. If basic amenities are not provided, you are entitled legally to do so under the "constructive eviction" doctrine. I HATE GALSTER, I HATE POMP AND MOST OF ALL, I HATE MARK..

These people are the most disrespectful slumlords I have ever come in contact with. I have had a maintenance issue in my apartment for 4 months now and they have done nothing to fix it. It is a leak in the ceiling of my bathroom and my bathroom ceiling is now covered in mold and brown spots and looks as though it is about to cave in. My bathroom is completely unusable and not fit for human living. The last time I called the person I spoke to said to me, "Well you're moving out at the end of the month who cares if it gets fixed?" I couldn't believe it. They have no human decency. Stay away from them.

Do not rent an apartment managed by Galster Management Group, East Realty or Pomp, LLC. These people are disgusting slumlords who cheat hard-working New Yorkers out of their money. I've lived in a Galster building for two years, during which I've probably called my landlord around 150 times. He's yet to call me back. My ceiling is leaking, my toilet is broken, there's no heat in my bedroom and I only intermittently have hot water. I've filed numerous complaints with 311, but Marc Goodman, my landlord, has never followed up with me. Avoid Galster at all costs.

This management company is notorious for being one of the worst in the city. They must have received a four star rating from insiders in the company, because if you look at any other review listings, they receiveonly one star on average.

They are terribly unresponsive. The only way to receive any maintenance is to withold rent. The worst stories are all true.

Galster has a tendancy to be unresponsive in any way. They have their hatchet man intimidate board members of any coop or condo they have converted. The guy is named Mark. Mark will even contact your Superintendant and threaten to terminate him because the super is usually non-union. East Realty and Galster Management should be investigated by the Attorney General since they are protected by the system they helped create. Avoid any building that has Galster Management or East Realty as its management or representative. Mark Goodman represents them in the building and on Co-op boards.

They do not exterminate the building properly and my apartment now has vermin and pests. It is so bad I've had to hire an exterminator out of my own pocket. They didn't install any of appliances correctly, no smoke detector in my unit, and they still haven't fixed my buzzer ( I have missed deliveries because of this). Each time I've called, they have either transferred me to some unknown person's voicemail or they are just down right rude. Run far far away from this company becaue in exchange for overpriced rent you will get the most unprofessional and horrible service.
