Pros: tasty and healthy food

Cons: slow service

.

Alright, where to start. So, we went to the Whole in the Wall looking for some nice, healthy food as an alternative to the run of the mill food that seems to be so plentiful. I remember going here once before with my girlfriend, and unfortunately, it was not so memorable. The service was slow and the food was decent, but very expensive. But, we decided to give it another shot.

What a friggin mistake. We walked in, and seated ourselves. We then sat there for about 20 minutes without being acknowledged by the wait staff. I thought, "if it was busy, this would maybe be acceptable"..however, there were 3 other people eating in the entire damn place. So, we sat there, patiently, and waited. At one point the waitress walked over towards us, so we thought "ok, finally" only for her to walk RIGHT past us and give something to the patrons behind us. We were clearly ready to order, and she didn't even make eye contact with us, despite us looking right at her, and even made a motion with our hand (politely) showing we were ready to eat. No response. We sat and waited for another 5 minutes or so, and finally, she came back.

We eventually got our food. Holy crap was it expensive. I was expecting the portions to be a little larger, but nope, it wasn't. Now, the food wasn't bad. I'd give it like a 6/10, nothing to write home about, but not abysmal either, so that was fine. However, they did completely screw up my girlfriend's order by forgetting to add chicken. When she finally got what she had ordered (IE the chicken), it wasn't even close to what she'd asked for. That addition was another $4 too...great.

This place has some nice ambiance, and a quaint uniqueness, but my god does the service blow. Food is decent, but nothing amazing, and it is expensive. I definitely will not be going back to this crappy place anytime soon. Bleh.

The whole in the wall is a cute little natural food restaurant in Binghamton. The window in front is circular! They serve great homemade breads and soups that really hit the spot during the cooler months!

Been a visitor of Whole in the Wall for about 10 years. Great for vegetarians and vegans. The pesto is nationally recognized. Save room for the Raspberry Brownie Sundae! So good!

My nephew is Vegan and he and his wife enjoy this "hole in the wall" for a nice meal. It is hard for them to find a nice place w/ atmosphere where they can get a nice vegan meal. They live in San Fran where there is alot of places like this one.

This little " Whole in the Wall," restaurant is a great place to go if your into healthy foods such as tofu and tempe.
They do have other free range items on their menus also but are a bit high in price.
A peanut butter and jelly sandwich is over three or four dollars just for the sandwich.
The place is noted for its fresh made home made soups, breads and mouth wateringdesserts and its worth the price for a hearty bowl of soup and some fresh whole wheat bread and butta.
Some famous faces such as Bob Dylan have visited The Whole after their concerts in the area.
Live entertainment is a plus on some evenings.
You can even order a loaf of their fresh baked whole wheat bread to take home which will melt in your mouth and disappear fast.
If your looking for something different " the WHole in the Wall is the place to go for some fine meals and don't forget to try their home made soups. It will keep you coming back for more.

PROS: Great food good service will keep you coming back
CONS: Price is a little high
