This is the mother of all restaurants on Smith St. and still one of the best. Excellent French fare, very pleasant atmosphere, reasonable prices and attentive staff.

I've been told that this was the restaurant that started the wave of talented young chefs coming from Manhattan to Brooklyn in the early 1990s. And after eating here several times, I see why it has become a true revolution. This cozy French bistro has great French comfort food (mussels and Fries, Steve au Poivre) and a great wine list. The wait staff was also extremely accommodating to us recently when we had two little kids in tow. The back garden is great, and the prices are right as well.
