Good Restaurant
When I was in New York I came here to eat. The food was decent and the cost was low. There wasn't a long wait , and the service was great. I would highly recommend that if your town to try Sugar Bar.

Great show, great food, great service!
A friend and I went to Sugar Bar the other night for a show, and everything was amazing! The host and the artists were great. We also ate dinner and the food was delicious. Although there was a show going on, there was no delay with our food, and the entire staff was very attentive. If you are looking for a cool place to catch a show, have a drink, have dinner - go to Sugar Bar! Definitely romantic enough for a date too ;)
Pros: Ambience, great food, entertaining shows, friendly manager
Cons: None

What a venue!!!!!!
Ashford and Simpson's Sugar Bar was recommended to me by a close friend of mine that has been raving about it. I've decided to give it shot and book the venue for my 30th birthday. I had a liittle concerned that because of the large number of guests that was attending that it may not be well coordinated. I am also very picky though. From the second I've called to the day of my party, I was taken care of like royalty. The whole staff from front to back did an incredible job to cater my needs especially knowing that some of my guest were not easily manageable. The food was great and the show was amazing. The manager (Steve Abreu) was checking on us to ensure that everything was going well. The whole know went so smoothly with no issues at all. We left happy and this is definetely a venue that my guests and I are planning to attend many times in the near future. Bravo to Ashford and Simpson!
Pros: music, food, service
Cons: a little small

Great Place
It's a really great place to chill with friends at the bar. We went there last week to celebrate my new job. The staff was accommodating. The food was good. We were there during afterwork hours so it wasn't so loud that we couldn't talk to each other. We were disappointed that there weren't any happy hour specials. I recommend this place and I will go back often,

Great place!
Some friends and I visited NYC this weekend. We went to the Sugar Bar on 7/11/08. We made reservations, so we didn't have a wait. The food was awesome! The entertaiment was spectacular! The only issue that we had, was once the place started to get crowded, we barely saw our wait staff. Other than that. I really recommend checking it out. The las chuletas are to die for! Also try the sugar tini. It is amazing!
Pros: Great food
Cons: Service could be a little better
Pros: Great food, ambience, entertainment

Service has gone from "Bad" to "Abysmal"
The food at Sugar Bar is EXCELLENT. The issue is that you have to climb mountains to get to it. The servers seem to be under the impression that they're doing you a favor to stop at your table, and it is frequently a battle to get basics such as a menu, water, or your first drink if you don't bring it with you from the bar (and if you're trying to order during a live show, forget it; it's not happening). This issue has not improved over time; it was a problem five years ago, and it's a bigger problem now. If you can manage to get your order taken, it will take its sweet time showing up, nobody will ever ask you how it was (if, God forbid, something is wrong with it, you will have to get up and go to the bar, tell them, and wait for them to send your waitperson to you), and you will have trouble trying to flag someone down to pay, yet they will always seem anxious to get you out of there. Most of my wait experiences have been with a waitress with bleached light brown hair put up in a spiky ponytail -- I have no idea what her name is, because she's never bothered to introduce herself, but she's incredibly rude. Next page: although the bar service has always been relatively slow, now that they have co-ed teams working it, they seem to spend more time flirting with one another than serving the customers. In short, come here if you have a long fuse and don't really care how your waitstaff treats you. The food and drinks are great, the live shows are great, but the unprofessionalism epidemic here is fatal.
Pros: Excellent food
Cons: Terrible, terrible service; pushy door
