The ABSOLUTE WORST! I had the misfortune of taking my cat to the Humane Society Clinic on June 28 2013. When I encountered Dr Swartz in the exam room [No introduction of any kind/NO Good Morning] I got her name off her jacket. She RUDELY commented she smelled cigarette smoke on me and that [verbatim quote] I should smoke outside. I was obviously not smoking in the clinic! I knew then and there that this woman was not normal! But I was there for the good of my cat so said nothing. She could not have appeared more indifferent as she ROUGHLY examined my cat. I tried in vain to convey my cat's symptoms only to be STOPPED SHORT[essentially told to SHUT UP]with Dr Swartz's EDICT [verbatim quote] I CAN NOT LISTEN AND WRITE AT THE SAME TIME! An Xray was performed that ruled out a blockage. No diagnosis/theories from the doctor only her directive: For a cat that had NO blockage, NO fever,Good vital signs,Hydrated.Mobile and Alert; Dr Swartz directed me to take my cat to the ANIMAL MEDICAL CENTER to be placed in INTENSIVE CARE! She said a snide remark wishing me luck as I left the room. I wrote a letter of complaint to the President of the Society [WHO DID NOT RESPOND PERSONALLY] but I did hear from a Ms. De Feo who called to tell me verbatim What a wonderful vet Dr Swartz has been for the past 10 years at the Society. I was also told that upon reading my letter, Dr Swartz CRIED. I cry too for the poor animals and their owners subjected to this vet's insanity! Pet Owners GO ELSEWHERE.

Had our puppy spayed here! Reasonable prices compared to local vet. Will return for MicroChip and Health Certificate for Travelling. Would HIGHLY recommend. Every employee is so friendly and helpful!P>S> We were a bit late picking up our puppy due to NYC traffic (about 15/20 min after they close) and they still allowed us in to get her! We will return here, again and again!!!

This is a great place. The vets (particularly Dr. Z) are very helpful, practical and compassionate. They have lots of great suggestions and don't make you feel like a monster for feeding your pets grocery store cat food like many of the snobby NYC vets do. They are also about 1/3 to 1/10 the price. $35 visits and cheap procedures ($30 neuter/spay). The place is very busy and they get a bit backed up later in the day but well worth it if you aren't in a massive hurry. Overall a great option for the fiscally challenged pet owner.

Dr. Schwartz was the vet I saw. I had so many questions about my newly adopted dog. To most of my questions she answer, "maybe" or "probably". she barely checked him and made me feel like an idiot for having concerns. he had been coughing, and making noises that sounded like he couldn't breath. he was also biting certain areas of his body until all the hair was gone. she said if could be allergies, but did nothing to find out if it really was or not. to certain questions she even said, "you'll figure it out". i'm paying for YOU to figure it out, i'm not a vet. she was rude, pretentious and above all lazy.

My girlfriend and I adopted a ultra sweet cat from this terrible place. We noticed that the new kitty wasn't eating. We called the society who told us that it was probably stress and not to worry. We then took her to our local vet who tells us that 3 of her teeth were knocked out, roots exposed and a fourth was cracked! We asked if this was recent and he said "no". The bill for the repair was $1300 and it was an immediate concern for her heath so we got the work done. After contacting the INhumane society they basically said it was our problem and had nothing but excuses and no sympathy.

We basically rescued a fantastic cat from the people who supposedly "rescue" animals. This place smelled, the staff were more interested on foisting an animal onto us and didn't even have up-to-date records for the animals under their care!

Terrible, terrible, terrible and for those adopting beware. You will also probably have to nurse your animal back to health.

NOT RECOMMENDED.

Pros: animals in need of rescue to go to a loving home

Cons: everything about the HUMANS who run this place and especially the vets.

Terrific doctors who treat your pet like their own. So affordable and very professional. I brought my dog in for distemper , rabie shots 2 work ups to check for suspected hypothyroid condition and other diseases plus total physical checkup exam and a year supply of heartgard all for under $250. Wow. Again did I mention how amazing the doctors and staff are !! You're foolish to pay the overpriced vets for the same if not better care for your pets.

I needed to get my 6 month old kitten neutered, however the vet office I normally take him to wanted to charge me $250 or more to get the procedure done. I was charged $45 (including the $5 additional charge to a weekend procedure), which was a much better deal. The staff was a little impersonal, and the visit seemed a little rushed, but in the end, everything turned out fine. I called back a few days later to ask when the stitches should start to disolve, and the woman who answered my call was very nice and personal.

My only advice: If you're taking your animal to get neutered/spayed, try to avoid Saturdays. It seemed like they were unusually busy. But overall, I was pleased with the experience.

I am extremely satisfied with the humane Society's Vet care. The price is economical but the work and the staff is extremely professional. My dogs love going there and I enjoy having them checked here. The vets are not trying to over vaccinate your dog or operate them unnecessarily. Great place
