Prices are unbelievably low for pub food as good as anywhere. The staff is charming enough to ask a cover charge. Patrons are a cross-section of the upper west side including many from nearby ABC studios and musicians and techies from the Beacon Theater which features some really incredible performers. It is what it is, with no apologies made nor needed. Total comfort for women or men.

Pros: Price, value, service and odl school ambience

Cons: Men's room could use a paint

Don't know where to go for a drink? Try this dive bar. It is decent. Clean with satisfactory service that is slow, but friendly. The drinks are decent priced. The music is always good. It is a good place to go to just have a few and watch a game.

This place is absolutley disgusting, it smells like urine, and by judging the bathrooms that is a pretty astute guess. The service is slow or non-existant. The urine smell comes from the back and in the front of the bar thereis a horrid musky smell. If you mention it to any member of the staff they just shurg thier shoulders. the guiness is warm and metallic tasting, and the bass and stella normally come out putrid.
This place is also crawling with washed up disgusting men who you guessed it..smell, and are just plain rude.
There are more fun dive bars in the area that are most definatly missing the "charm" of this place....avoid it at all costs

Pros: none

Cons: patrons, lousy beer, smell!!!

Quiet enough to talk. Descent prices. Good beer. Friendly atmosphere. Not too crowded. A few old drunks at the bar. Bathrooms that smell like they are.

Oh yeah, Malachy's Donegal Inn had it all. Like a dictionary definition of a drinkin' bar. If you go for FOU FOU. If you want screaming twenty somethings packed tighter than the #6 at rush hour. If you want music so loud your ears will leak. If you want that... go someplace else. But if you want a BAR! This is the place.

Wings with a kick, ok potato skins, Colleen, our waitress, friendly enough to get in the picture. Card table chairs, and the freedom to move the furniture as you'd like... what more could you really ask for in a bar. --DrinkClubnyc is a roving group of NYC Drinkers, join us on the web.

Pros: Amibence, great staff, not crowded, coversation possible above music, lots of wood

Cons: bathroom smell

My friend took me here for lunch one day after work. The waitress/bartender/hostess...she did it all. She was so nice and made me feel like a regular. The beer are very inexpensive (esp. on the upper west side). The burgers were pretty good. They only make it one way...but it was pretty good. I also ordered the potato skin with bacon and cheese---to die for. Good place to come to when you're a bit down or just want to drink with the guys.

Pros: Service, food. old bar atmosphere and smell

Very friendly staff, pretty cheap drinks, and really good, plentiful, and cheap food. It's never overly crowded there, even on a Friday or Saturday evening, and has a good homey enviroment.

Today, this pub/restaurant also doubles as an accommodation service. I've never used that option, but it is a great place to go to get a couple of beers and sit back and enjoy the atmosphere. The bar itself has a real dive bar feel and is always playing good music

Definitely the best buffalo wings I've had in the city, and that's saying something. Friendly barkeeps and realistic prices. Nice place to hang and watch football on Sunday afternoons.
