I called on a Monday morning and was able to get an appointment for that afternoon. I wasn't sure what color I really wanted, but knew I wanted it blonder. Carolina did the best color I've ever had, and I've been getting it colored for about 10 years. It's blond, but not all one color. It looks so bright and very natural. With the cut all I said was lots of layers and not to get rid of the length. It actually looks longer now with the way she did the layers. The blow out was the best part. When I left I felt so good about myself and my hair. The price was reasonable, but a full foil of highlights and lowlights doesn't come cheap. I will definitely be returning!

A fun french environment with great music playing. I had Caroline do my hair. My hair before was dry, dull and stick-straight boring. After Caroline worked her magic my hair now is bouncy shiny and has layers that are easy and allow movement. I love it!!I plan on returning again and again.

I heard about MV from a neighbor of mine and went to check out getting hair extensions. I met with Magda who changed from head of short hair into gorgeous extensions that go down to my waist! Suddenly I have the long hair I have always wanted. My full head extensions look SO natural.. Magda was amazing and really took her time with me. My hair is thick and beautiful not only looks like my own.. but feels like my own. I have never been happier .. A MUST to check out!

New in New York, I was looking for Hair Salon in the Upper East Side and I?ve find MV salon; walked in, they offered me Caroline (owner) for consultation regarding color.
Even thought she was extremely busy, she has find time to give me some suggestions.
I did schedule an appointment for the following day and I was very pleased with the result.
I?m delight that I find my new stylist in my new town!!

I stumbled upon a gem the other day when I walked by this salon. I was lucky enough to have Caroline work on me (she's one of he owners) and I will never go anywhere else again. She did a cool process called Brazilian Keratine on my hair and it has never looked so great. It is straight and shiny and healthy looking and it lasts for months. Be sure to check them ou!!!!

I passed by a charming salon on the upper East side the other day called Marianne Vera Salon. I desperately needed my roots done and was thrilled with the outcome. I had highlights but my real color is dark with some grey coming in. Caroline did my hair and created a wonderful carmel amber brown color that complimented my own color but blended with my highlights.. My hair color has great depth and warmth to it.. will be great for going into fall and looks 'natural' all at the same time. I highly recommend this French Salon ... they are fantastic!

Aron really listens to what you want and tryes to expain as to what he is going to do and what the result will be ,His colors always consistant ( unlike with my previouse stylist it would always be different a shade ) . He is a genius with color and highlights, my hair has never looked better.I always walk out loving my hair. I send all my freinds who live in the area to him.

I've always had difficulties finding a hair-stylist who would color my hair as I wanted.Regadless what hair-salon I visited or what hair-stylist I saw, I was never fully satisfied.

One day I accidentally stumbled upon this hair-salon Marianne Vera salon ,76 st and 77 ,2 av, where I had a color treatment done by Caroline, a hair-colorist. Her amazing skill at hair coloring allowed her to do wonders with my hair.For the fist time I could hardly recognize myself.try you will be very surprise.

I went to MV Salon for their Brazilian Straightening Hair treatment. I have fairly straight hair but it is very thick and I have a hard time with it when it is humid out. The process lasted for several months, and even now after 4 months later, I am still seeing the effects of no frizz! It is amazing and makes for a great Summer hair style! You can let it air dry and it looks perfect.. The people at MV were great... it is so much fun just to be there. I can't wait to see what else they have for me to try!

I have had long hair all my life and always had problems getting a good cut that left it long enough to satisfy me and still look healthy. Recently, I saw a friend of mine I had not seen in awhile with absolutely the most gorgeous haircut. It was healthy and long and had such a great shine to it !

I asked her where she went and she said "MV Salon.. they are awesome". I went shortly after and was so lucky to have Caroline, one of the two lovely owners, do my hair. My hair had become dry and lifeless and Caroline created nothing short of magic on me.

I will never go anywhere else.. The staff are all great and everyone walks out of there looking fabulous! They offer you wine in the afternoon, and good conversation and great music!

I love my hair again and am so happy I found them!

I have recently moved to NYC, and needed a good hair hairstylyst/colorist.. that i can honestly TRUST. Its extreamly important that the stylist listens and I can not tell you how happy iam with my hair, He gave me all the information that i needed to know and he told me that next time would be better due to partial collor /highlight correction.. any way I loved my hair and still do, thanks Aaron, I'll see you soon!!!

It is very difficult to find a colorist who can you give you exceptional color that really works for YOU. Aaron gave me a hair color that suits me a 100%. It is better then I dared even hoped for. I love this place! I went to get Brazilian straightening and absolutely love it! The girl that did it, magda did a very good job for a great price. I also had my highlights done there and always get compliments from other stylists. I try to go at least once a week to get my hair blown out for the weekend, I have probably tried everyone there and they are all very professional and do a great job. I also recommend their treatments, I only had it done once and liked the way my hair felt afterwards. It gets busy sometimes, but never had an issue, maximum that I had to wait was 15 mins. So would definitely recommend it to everyone especially for big job like straightening,extention ,highlights and color.

A week before my Bday in January, I went to a local hair salon for a root touch up and came out with grey and green striped hair! I was beside myself with anger and sorrow! I put a hat on my head for a couple days and while walking past Marianne Vera Salon one night, noticed all the great heads of hair, sitting in the salon.
I walked into the salon and explained my hair disaster to both the receptionist and then to Caroline. Caroline looked my hair over and gave me a hair cut which pretty much cut off the dead frizzy ends. She then instructed me to come back in a couple of days, after the hair color had settled and get low and highlights which corrected my hair color completely. She was a GODSEND!! I am forever greatful to her and would highly recommend her color and cut expertise to Everyone...she is one of a kind and her rates are very reasonable..I'll be in soon to get my roots touched up, Caroline! I tried MV twice and while the color and cut were good, and the prices were okay, I thought the salon was overcrowded and tight, as if they tried to book too many clients at once, resulting in most of us having to hop from chair to chair. The first time I went, for color and blowdry, I had 3 separate people working on it: a colorist who consulted and mixed the color, and assistant who applied the color and shampooed, and a stylist who completed the blowdry. Also, the second time I went, the colorist was processing color foils in her own hair while she was working and she left me mid-cut to go over and look through the mail! Ordinarily I guess I wouldn't have minded so much, but after watching "Tabatha's Salon Takeover" and seeing the professional behavior that she requires, I just felt this salon was lacking. Maybe I went on bad days... but there are salons on every block in the UES, so I know I won't be back.

I was referred to Caroline at MV salon over a year ago . Since my very first appointment in 2006 I have never been happier. The salon has not change, the price doesn t go up, the location is great , I will always be one step behind her. She is amazing at her craft. She always makes my hair look beautiful and gives it an amazing cut. She is very throrough throughout the cut so you know what shes doing step by step. The atmosphere is always nice and catering. The staff has always been friendly and sweet. I am sure the other stylist are just as great but once I find someone I love, I'm stuck. If you want a good cut, for a great price under great management, then try CAROLINE AT MARIANNE VERA SALON.

I went to MV for the first time to get my hair cut. Everyone was very welcoming and accommodating. I had an appointment with Kali and she was very friendly. She listened carefully to my styling ideas, and also gave me some great advice of her own. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted it, and also added some great touches that made me very pleased with the outcome! I really trusted her and was very comfortable talking with her. Criss and me we immediately clicked. He is truly an artist and professional in every sense of the word and since he has been cutting my hair I receive compliments almost daily. My hair is not the easiest to cut and I have had some very bad experiences but none since going to Criss. He is in charge of my color and he s amazing colorist. My hair has never looked better and I would never consider going anywhere else.

I was interested in finding a salon which used L'oreal hair color and found MV Salon on City Search. I read the reviews (all positive) and came across Cali. I immediately made an appointment with the very pleasant and accomodating receptionist, and have been a loyal customer since. I visit Cali religiously every 3 weeks and she is terrific. As a matter of fact everyone there is, from the assistants to the owners. They are all knowlegdeable about their products as well as hair care. I have never been more pleased by the service and especially the L'oreal hair color. It is a great neighborhood salon with all the service and more value than the "expensive" salons in new york city. I have never left disappointed and Cali has a client for life!

Fantastic atmosphere and definately the most pretty salon that I have ever been to. I thoroughly enjoyed experience at this salon, as well as their friendly, outgoing staff. My experience at Marianne Vera was absolutely wonderful!! I have thick, curly hair, which is for many hair stylist's is very difficult, but they were knowledgable about my hair needs and they gave me a complimentary hair treatment, seeing that my hair is very dry. They were also very helpful in recommending the best products to suit my curly hair. Thank you so much! to CAROLINE.

I went into MV salon not knowing what to expect. I immediately noticed the atmosphere was calming, professional, and very inviting. I had Kali as my stylist and told her she could cut, dye, and style my hair how she saw fit but not to change my current style too drastically. She gave me a long layered cut with side bangs and dyed my hair a deep brown. I absolutely loved everything about it! The cut was perfect and easy to style whether I leave it curly or straight. The color was rich and really accented the cut and blow-out. Everyone at work the next day had something positive to say about my new 'do. I recommended Kali and MV to all my friends and co-workers!!!!!

MV salon has a great buzz. And it makes you feel like you've just taken a trip to Paris (or sometimes Madrid) without leaving town. Caroline and her staff are very friendly, very hip, but also very professional and very talented. They do a terrific job from start to finish. And at a price that won't make you gasp. Go there!

In August my friend came to visit me and her hair looked INCREDIBLE!!! I immediately asked for the name of her hairdresser and made an appointment at MV Salon with Aaron. My husband could not believe that I was driving from Central New Jersey to NYC for my hair, but my friends hair looked amazing, and I needed to have it too! It was a great experience!!! I got to the salon Saturday morning and was ready to get my highlights done. Aaron discussed with me how I wear my hair and my color options! I felt comfortable from the second we started talking. He made great decisions and my highlights came out great!!! Everyone in NJ wanted to know where I had gotten my hair done!!! Two months went by and I made another appointment for highlights and a cut!! The haircut was so good, that even my husband noticed the great shape and body it had and my color looked awesome!! Aaron does great hair!! His work is fantastic and his blowouts are the most relaxing and best I have ever had! I make it a point to make an appointment for a blowout everytime I come to NYC. I used to dread going for color and cut because it took so long,but now I can't wait to drive 45 miles to ensure the best hair I could have!!!

Since my very first appointment in 2005 i have never been happier.
The price can go up,the location can change but i will always be one step behind her.

Marianne Vera rocks! From the moment she assessed my hair and outlined her plan for improvement, i knew that she was good and skilled as stylist.
Caroline has a great personalty she is a very professional worker,she has done now many of my frends and family members they all loved her.

I can only recommend the hairstylist i had of course his name is Franck and he was really great.I never had a hairstylist pay so much attention to my hair and really take his time to make sure it was straight,inline,it fell right.and that is really important to me.
I have straight hair so mistakes are easy to detect. Just when i thought he was done,he wen back,looked everything over,made tiny adjustementsif he had too.But the entire place had a very professional feel so i wouldn t me surprised if all stylists cared that much about their work! I know that there is at times to go into one this hair salon but I would go back there again without hesitation and wouldn t worry much even if Franck was not there.$75 bucks for wash,cut and blowdry but a haircut that beats any $100+cut i ve had.

I recently discovered Marianne Vera Salon, after years of what I refer to as "white knuckle" hair experiences. Further defined, it means fearing the worst from some of the best names in the business, and getting it! I am thrilled to report that I don't have to look any further, as I have found the ultimate in chic, style, service and professionalism at Marianne Vera Salon on 2nd Avenue btw 76th / 77th. From the moment you walk through the door, you recognize that there is something very different in the whole attitude. You are warmly greeted by reception, then whisked away to the changing area (again, a warm and friendly smile to assist you with your bags, coat etc.), almost immediately (that means NO WAITING!!!!) you are introduced to your stylist/colorist. I have been there 6 times, and have consciously tried different people each time. EVERY SINGLE time, the color and / or cut was SUPERBE. They are all trained by two venerable masters, Two owners caroline & Eszter are experts in their respective field, and charming and adorable to boot! The staff is respectful of any time constraints that you might have, and manage stay mindful of those constraints, never giving off the feeling of rushing you. They are without doubt, the most professional group of stylists / colorists I have ever come across, and trust me.....I have tried everyone of note in the City, and have always been disappointed eventually. At Marianne Vera salon, you will walk out the door feeling like you can conquer the world. They are amazing. I will never go anywhere else since I have found the best in style and chic for hair care in New York City.

I literally stumbled upon MV Salon one night in August... it was 8pm and so busy! I made an appointment for the next day with Aaron. He gave me such an incredible blowdry that I made an appointment on the spot to have my color done! When I went back the following week for my color, he remembered who I was, we talked for awhile about what I wanted from my hair and we decided on highlights. My hair came out so unbelievable that people literally ask me all the time where I get my hair done! Several of my friends have since switched to Aaron because they couldn't believe my hair! The highlights are so natural and not over done at all! His haircuts are fabulous... just enough to keep my hair feeling and looking healthy , but not drastic (just the way I like it!) My hair has literally never looked better! I go to Aaron every week for a blowdry and I look forward to my appointments! He's great . . . gentle, funny and really into making my experience there a pleasure. I completely recommend going to MV Salon, but you MUST get your hair done by Aaron!!

I have been going to MV for the past three and a half years and from the first time I walked in to the last, I have had great service, and more importantly - great color/highlights and a great cut. Eszter is the best -she knows what I need before I tell her. She is always offering up suggestions with what to do with my hair in regard to the time of year, my job, my lifestyle - it's a nice change from an order taker! She is amazing with color as well - it's well worth it!

The first time I went (on a friend's recommendation), Eszter did a fabulous job rescuing an unfortunate dye job I got at a different salon. Eszter brought my natural tint back and lightened it to a perfect natural-looking blond color. It's the color I had naturally as a teenager (how did she know?!!), so it looks just right with my complexion. Now I go every 3 months or so for hi / lowlights, a cut and styling. The cut lasts a long time between visits, and it's low maintenance. I love my hair!
I completely trust her recommendations about what to do with my hair. She doesn't want to do all over highlights every time when half the time all I need is to have them on top. It makes a difference in the bill!
MV is a friendly place and you get attention from the experts. I trek over there all the way from downtown and it's totally worth it.

Walking into the busy UES salon for the first time was a little hectic at first, however, I am happy I did. Having been referred there by a friend for a blowdry I went on a sunday because they offer a great $25 special. I have always had trouble parting with my hair during haircuts but my stylist at Marianne Vera talked me into getting a haircut that would leave me with fresh ends and a better overall style to my hair. In the end I received not only the great blowout that I walked in for but also a great cut. I left feeling fabulous and ten years younger!!! The service was awesome and the head massage that I got was amazing. Every person in the salon was polite and courteous even when it did get a little crowded.

I had my hair cut by Kali and she was very attentive to listening to my wishes. I showed her some pictures of what I wanted and she told me what would work best with my wavy hair. She delivered the perfect haircut for me! I don't like to spend a lot of time styling and it's a great cut to just towel dry, add a little gel and I'm good to go. I'm going back to get some highlights before winter to add some sparkle and I would definitely recommend her and the salon. Great prices too!

I don't have the best hair. It 's thin and mostly straight but if the weather turns humid my hair gets frizzy and wavy, making me look pretty bad. Kali fixed the problem with a skillful haircut. I love how she styles my hair. Not only does she know what I like, she also knows how to bring out the best in my hair. Her confident manner and really good style sense has helped me time and again. I wouldn't dream of going to another sylist.

After getting my hair done by Kali a couple of times I decided to treat myself before my birthday and I could not be happier. I asked her to change it up a little since I was feeling a little bored with my cut and I have never gotten so many compliments. The length and layers look better than i could have imagined with my features and I don't think I'll be changing it up again for a while! And since she knew i was going out celebrating she gave me an extra vamped blow-out. I felt like a rock star!

I was referred to Kali through a friend and although at first skeptical, was extraordinarily happy with the outcome...I have very long, thick, curly hair that in the past, not all stylists could handle. Kali was able to straighten my unruly locks with ease and I trusted her for a work event where I received many compliments on the job. I would definitely return to Kali as she proved to me, that she is very talented, patient and completely aware of what I wanted. Can't wait to go back!

I met the stylist Kali at The Stumble Inn which is a bar right near the salon. She told me to come in the next day to get a cut and I couldn't have been happier. She not only did a great job stying my hair but she also clued me in on how to take care of it and suggested some product to maintain it. I am not one for lavish trips to the salon but everyone was very nice and attentive and on top of all that it was extremely affordable. Sure beats my dads barber.

I have been going to Kali for hair cuts and hair colors since the beginning of the year. I love Kali. I love her style, I love the way she always understands what I want.
Last week, I went for a drastic change. My hair used to be really long and light brownish. I came in the salon with a picture of Katie Holmes to get my hair cut short like her and have a dark brown hair color. Kali understood exactly what I wanted and did an amazing job. I love her!!! I cannot consider going to anyone else to get my hair done. I love my color, I love my hair cut. Everyone tells me the hair cut fits me perfectly. I am so happy!!

I could defineiely afford this, even in these tight times.
My husband actually decided to joint me as well,as Marianne vera salon specializes i men hair cut .
I did my color with Caroline it was great, and my husband ,Angello very nice man.
I will be here every month as long as these great services and prices remain the same!
The owner is charming and always there to assist you in any way that you may need.
