I also had a problem with the Verizon store on Jefferson Rd Henrietta NY. On my previous phone the battery was an intergal part of the back of the phone. One of the tangs that held the back plate onto the phone broke off, thus the back could not be attached, therefore the battery could not be "installed", thus the phone would not work! I was paying for the insurance so I figure no biggie, I'll just take it to the store and have it fixed. NOT!!! The customer dis-service person tells me that batteries aren't covered by the insurance, but he'd be happy to sell me one for $60. Nevermind that the whole phone didn't cost that much to begin with - This idiot could not be made to understand that there was nothing wrong with the battery, it was the back attachment that was broken, and that this was a design structural problem that insurance should cover. Arguement in vain. I called Verizon from my home phone later, and they finally agreed to "compromise" and sell me a new back plate/battery for $20, which was probably still a profit for them! I The whole thing was ridiculous. I would never set foot inthat store again.

I recently went in to one of the locations to get help on why my phone was acting up. I went to the location at 951 Jefferson Rd, Rochester, NY 14623. I have a voyager and it has been having some technical issues. It powers its self on and off. My pictures come up blank so I have to turn the phone off then back on. It also freezes when the keys unlocked screen would come up. I went in to simply see about getting a software update. I have friends that have had the same issue and they told me to get it done and it would help. So I went in and the technical support rep Mike (an older guy prob mid 50's and balding) said that they would take a look at it. I figured ok no problem I will come back in an hour and get my phone. The hour went by and I went to get my phone. He tells me, "oh because of the power cycling issues, there is nothing we can do. You can either pay $50 and have it swapped out or you can live with it." I was quite pissed off when I heard him tell me this. First of all if they weren't able to do anything with it, they could have told me right off the bat and I could have been on my way.
While I was waiting in line to pick the phone up there was a family in front of me with 3 young teenage girls. He was ever so polite to them and did everything in his power to help them. He was flirting with the girls right in front of their parents. I wanted to say right out loud, "Dude seriously you are like 80 and they are 12. You can get in trouble for the thoughts going through your head! Now move it along pervert!" I decided just to grab my phone and leave. On my way home I called customer care and explained to them what happen. The girl I spoke with was a true doll! She said they definitely should have done a software upgrade and that she would note my account so I can have one done the next day. I was very pleased with her.
Needless to say I will never be returning back to this store. There are a lot of very rude people there.
Something needs to be done with this store. They can not go on treating people this way at all! Their cs skills suck majorly!

I can't begin to describe how vehemently against this Verizon store I am. This is by far the worst place for a college student in Rochester to get ANYTHING accomplished. The policies are skewed and the people on the floor are extremely rude to anyone who looks like they are under 30. The time I went in, my phone was old and unusable, the screen was black and i couldn't call out, I could only get calls. This is dangerous being a college age girl in Rochester. I was rudely told there was NOTHING I could do to renew my phone because my phone was under my mother's name and that even getting my mother on the phone to renew my contract wasn't good enough. She had to be in the store to get anything done. My mother is over 100 miles away. So I was stuck without a phone. The worst part about this is that there were two other people my age in the store trying to do the same thing and one was from Canada. When I told the man my situation he didn't offer a SINGLE solution. I soon realized I was getting nowhere with this man so I talked to the next, no one had any kind of help for me, when customers are involved there is always SOMETHING you can do, especially with a big corporation such as Verizon. These men and another woman just treated me like I was just a bother to them and they were actually happy that they couldn't do anything to help me because it would involve more work for them. I promptly went to Cingular and got a new phone with friendly service and no one treating me like I was less of a human because I was a college student. All I had to do was call my mother and have her talk to the man and switch us over. The funny thing about this is that Verizon tried to charge my mother $400 for my phone being disconnected and switching providers even though neither of us were under under contract. Their excuse was that she had signed up for unlimited text messaging over the phone and unbeknownst to her she was "renewing" her contract and that a "verbal agreement is lawful in NYS" So a verbal agreement is fine if Verizon is going to benefit and not tell you you're entering into a contract but letting someone update their phone with verbal permission in the store is not lawful? I reported Verizon to the Attorney General and I suggest to anyone with similar problems, because I know you're out there, do the same.

This place is just awful.
