The worst rating I can give this place is "Eh"?! Fine, one star for good coffee and bagels but absolutely, the WORST, SLOWEST service in Queens. Just got back from there and completely infuriated by the staff. Must have had six people

actually, I don't want to rate this place... it's below zero!

Once entering the establishment, it almost feels that the workers own you already. NO GREETINGS, no HELLOS, no SMILES!

This makes the food unpleasantly tasty, and very bitter.

I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. THIS PLACE THIS TO GO DOWN AND BE OFF THE BUSINESS. It's 2010, and the establishment needs to realize how important customer service is.

I hope this place shuts down.

I hope this bakery closes down because the owner is a crazy lady with really bad attitude. The first time I went -- they were rude, but I thought maybe they were in a bad mood. But today I went again, and they were just rude beyond your imagination.

People who work there doesn't greet you at all. The minute you walk in, they demand to know what you want. I wanted to take some time to look at the desserts because I wasn't sure what I wanted -- and they were beyond rude.

What kind of people yell at the customers? The owner started packaging my cakes to go without even asking me when I wanted to sit down and eat. So I told her Oh, I want to eat here. And she got pissed. I didn't want to bother with her attitude--so I told her, never mind, I'll just take it to go. And she started YELLING at me..saying "are you playing a game with me?" I was just shocked, and I didn't know what to say. It's so not worth going there and deal with their service.

I will NEVER come back here ever again

I walk 7 blocks to get my pastry fix rather then the1 block to Lefkos Pirgos. Or as my friends and I call it, Bitchkos Pirgos. I have been in her a dozen times for last minute pasteries for a party or as a treat for my nephews. I have received courteous service once. And I never saw that girl working there after that one time.
The staff has made not-so-under-the-breath comments about my friend and his boyfriend as they were walking out. They were rude to my extremely polite and well behaved 4 year old nephews. They have charged me $2 for a piece of chocolate cake and charged my friend $5 for a piece of baklava. They are always slow. It doesn't matter if there is no line, a long line, late, early. They always take at least 10 mins to wrap up one item. Oh. And they took 40 minutes to serve a african-american friend a cup of coffee.
There are much better pastry shops. Artopolis a little further down 31st st. if you want exquisite traditional greek and italian breads and pasteries. Martha's on Ditmars for cupcakes, cookies, gelato, cakes and pies. Athen's Cafe on30th ave. for the lounge all day greek cafe experience.
Don't got to Lefkos Pirgos! They are awful to everyone who walks through their doors.

The best sweet experience in Astoria. This place has the most variety of Greek homemade sweets in Astoria with the most value. The Spanakopita (spinach pie) was fresh as is the Baklava and the famous Galaktomboureko. You can order every kind of of coffee (especially Frappe) prepared with detail. Also, the Bougatsa is a specialty traditional sweet that you won't find nowhere else in the NY metropolitan area. The service was very good with attention in every step. If you like good sweets and spend some time in a traditional Greek Bakery there is no better place than Lefkos Pirgos.

The owner thinks she owns everyone in this neighborhood. Not so friendly, though her pastries are not worth the hassle. Part of having good experience in an establishment is not just the food, but the staff members. They don't smile, looks like these girls are on daily PMS! I can't wait for this place to loose business and closed down!

Pros: BATHROOM USE: I've used it in the past for some urgent need!

Cons: BEEEECHES SERVERS!

The owner is the most obnoxious businesswoman I have ever come across. I will never step foot in this place again. After questioning her about the overcharge on my bill she proceeded to verbally assault me. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to ARTOPOLIS, they have better stuff anyway.

She scremas at anyone that gets in her way and the "F" seems to be her favorite word. she does not hesitate to tell people to "F' them selves! ALL this right in the front of the customers!!
She has even physically assaulted people, the police had to be called she was arrested and charged with assault. This woman has the WORST reputation in Astoria!!! CLEARLY SHE IS DSTURBED AND DERANGED. STAY WAY!!! or YOU TOO WILL FACE the WRATH of this MENTAL CASE!!

Pros: excellent deserts and pastries, but that's about it.
Cons: inconsistent service, not the most appealing decor and beware of rude Greek regulars - one stole my quality umbrella while leaving his cheap one behind, the other almost stuck his cigarette into my friend's eye, carelessly chatting with his friends and did not care to apologize!

I stopped in to try some pastry the other day and was leered at by the woman behind the counter, who yelled at me for asking for help, then proceeded to ignore me while she yelled at another customer. Meanwhile the waitresses stood by with disdainful looks on their faces while a few other confused patrons lingered by, waiting for service. I don't care how good the pastries are. NEVER AGAIN!

this is a large cafe/bakery . the decor is very modern. The staff is nice and the pastries are very sweet and rich. The portions of the pastries are large. Most of the pastries are Greek but they do have Napoleons and custards. The have this pastry that looks like a mouse but it is very sweet. A nice place to have a coffee , eat some dessert and then eat some to take home.

Lefkos Pirgos is a bakery/cafe that is located right off the Ditmars Blvd. stop on the N/W lines. They have delectable Greek delights, including baklava (layers of phyllo dough, honey, and pistachio nuts), melomakarona (a honey dipped walnut cookie), galaktoboureko (custard in crispy phyllo dough), and kourambiethes (powder sugar-covered cookie). They also serve Greek coffee, which is very strong. The prices are reasonable and service is decent. During the Greek Easter celebration, they also make special bread.

PROS: Greek desserts and coffee, close to the subway, inexpensive
CONS:

Terrific baklava, galaktoboureko, walnut cake, and cookies at ridiculous low prices (at least for those of us used to Manhattan). Atmosphere and service are so-so, though it can be an interesting cultural immersion experience.
