For years, this Sears store was the only Sears located in the NY Tri-state area. This meant that if you lived in Manhattan, The Bronx or Queens you had to come here to shop because there was no alternative. As a result, the store had high standards for merchandise, cashiers and professionalism back then.

Today, as one of three tri-state Sears locations (an additional Brooklyn store is in Kings Plaza Mall), there is a decided lack of those standards to be found in this store. The store is usually understaffed, so not enough cashiers are available to ring up merchandise which leads to long lines. The staff are often seen standing around talking rather than helping customers find/purchase merchandise. The merchandise (for clothing) is often on the ground or visually unappealing as it is NOT arranged properly on hangers but rather thrown about on racks. Advertised items from the beginning of a sale week to the ending of that sale week are always in VERY LITTLE QUANTITIES (less than 20 for popular items) and they do NOT give you rainchecks or pre-order back-ordered items for you. So, this is clearly a managerial matter if the problem is consistent like this. No attempt is made to treat you like a proper customer whose business you would like to see return to their store.

Sad to say their Kings Plaza Mall store is even worse. If you really need an item and you know it's not available at this store, your best bet is to order it online & do local pick-up or head over to the Staten Island Mall or Queens (yes how sad) location.

PROS: None
CONS: Poor Service, Limited Quantities, Understaffed
